Thanks for the info. I like some of whites stuff. The prices are great like old school prices. I often challenge people to compare vinyl to cd or master reel yo reel by doing blind comparison in my music room. Most of the time they vote for better sonics from the vinyl. Years ago when friends went digital they asked if I wanted their records. I took them all. My cartridge is getting will need to replace it soon but priced on good ones have gone astronomical.

Sigh. This is just magnificent. I love music it’s been a part of my life since childhood. You capture so much with words images textures and sensuality that is part of what music produces with sound and vibrations. A happy time was had. ❤

I want to live on that street and hit the jazz club, the piano bar, the record store and hope there’s an upscale restaurant that serves all the stuff I can’t seem to cook. My early favorite guitar player, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, enjoyed human ‘flaws.’ While he can be perfectionistic most of his greatest guitar work is quite sloppy and raw between slight or purple-hot passion.

This just might be my new favorite! I grew up in the era of vinyl, and to this day, nothing compares. I remember visiting some special stores in the day…thank you, Michelle, for this story! The imagery is truly amazing.

I actually researched the composition of albums that cause that smell-- it's so specific and similar to old books. I like to think we all get to time travel-- I certainly love the chance to try.

Maybe I should inventory my 1,100+record collection? I’ve probably owned more than 20 turntables since high school. A couple of years ago, I decided to sell my Yamaha PF-1000. I use a Technics SL1300 now circa. 1975-1978, with Shure V15 Pro S cartridge-stylus. I painted the Technics’ side edges semi gloss black to match the Harman/Kardon components, and now black lacquer finished JBL L100’s. Not only does my system sound great, it’s a system of beauty just like you, Michelle. 🕊️💕

I wrote a song about this once called “Crestfallen” and one of the lyrics was “Crestfallen every new day takes her further away from the time she loves.” Thankfully stories and crackling analog sounds can brink us back. 💜

As kids, the neighbors and I would gather our parents boxes of records (even some small a/b side). Some were recognizable, and some were really silly like the Cookie Monster was singing nonsense 😂. Regardless, we spent hours in the basement listening and laughing.

A photgraph of Madonna twerking is hanging near the register. You mention that she should probably act her age. At first, Sarah giggles but then escorts you out of the shop. She mispronounces your name as you leave. You walk in the rain 🌧 and stumble into a CD shop with no gimmicks or frills.
