My youngest son shared this song with me years ago… since that time we lost 3 family members to Domestic Violence and our family has been torn apart…. For some odd reason I am deemed the bad guy… No one calls unless they are in a jam… my middle daughter lost her 19 year old daughter in this tragedy, she was visiting my youngest pregnant daughter from out of state … they are the 3 that were killed. My youngest granddaughter (12) was shot twice but my baby girl survived and got her 6 years old brother out of harms way. I never meddled in my kids lives but when my daughter reached out to me and told me she wanted out I sprung into action… I purchased a house for her in another state but she and the rest was killed the day of settlement. …. I have done a lot of reflecting trying to figure out why I am being treated as the bad guy… this song popped in my head today and speaks volumes of my feelings… I thank my son for sharing this song with me even though he is now a distant memory 💔

This song reminds me so much of my son Marcus who died from an overdose of heroin all alone in a McDonald's bathroom in 2019. It gets to me every time I hear it on the radio. It's also a beautiful song 😢

I'm with you. I've had Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia since I was 18. It was very severe 2018-2019 and that went a long way jn doing our relationship in. Not just that obviously. I dedicate this song to God. Never really believed in god as a kid then when I was 11 my mom died and I decided I hated god and blamed him for her death I was angry for so long. Until I was 18 After one of my many suicide attempts. I heard god speak to me “come to me my child I love you” I had heard him say this before many times and told him to piss off. For some reason this time I listened and since then I started listening to god and my life while not perfect has gotten better. God I am sorry for all the horrible things I said about you, I’m sorry i hurt so many of your other children with my words and fists. I found a reason for me to change who I used to be, a reason to start over new and the reason is you.

Goosebumps all over. That's so sad and happy at the same time. Beautiful testimony. I'm sorry about your mom, I lost my mom close on 7 years ago..she was bitter towards God my whole life, after my dad died..but suffered for two years with his cancer. I was 5 yrs then. Now at 49 I'd been praying for the walls around her heart to be broken down and she gave her heart to God two days before she passed away.
