I can't believe I am back here again. Last time I rediscovered it here 3 years ago. I was 36 then and now I am about to turn 40yrs old in next 3months...... There's magic in this song. The tune, the notes, the singing, the lyrics, even the visuals (original TV version's video)... can't forget the first time when I saw it's video on MTV. while listening to my childhood and teenage playlist, I get so nostalgic and emotional that it scares me so I just stop playing it and divert myself in another activity or thoughts. It scares me because I feel that I will cry so intensely that I will drown and die in my own tears. The grief is about not able to turn back time and live those days again. It's also about how I can't explain in words to the current generation what it was like back in those days.

My all time Karaoke song! There is The question of the reason for everything is a deeply philosophical and existential inquiry. It touches upon fundamental questions about the nature of existence, purpose, and the universe. Philosophers have explored the question of the reason for everything throughout history. Some argue that life and meaning are constructed through individual experiences and relationships, while others seek broader metaphysical explanations. In many religious traditions, the reason for everything is often tied to the existence of a divine creator or a higher power. The purpose of life and the universe is considered to be part of a divine plan. This song makes me cry all the time.
Still young...❤

damm that hits hard!!!!!!
Golden voice!
Man the early 2000s were such a great time. You could feel the world changing with the internet, but social media hadn't yet taken over. Music that requires actual talent was still prevalent on the radio and on everyone's home made CD mixes. Movies and games were breaking so many boundaries and were still original, opening up so many people's eyes and minds to the possibilities ahead. The future didn't seem so daunting as it does now. Maybe it is the ignorance of my youth in my high school days, but those were the times I miss the most.

Well said and completely agree! You don't realise how much you miss being a kid and teenager until you are an adult...
The lyrics hit harder now as an adult vs when I heard this back in high school. Especially after having your heart broken.. 💔

@@RandomPerson-ui3xv well, it's definitely auto-tuned in the studio, you can hear it. In fact, the whole song was recorded in studio and video was recorded later to make it appear as a "live" version.. their lip sync is not on point always ^^
Still epic... today :)

The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! This song and “Clover Cage - The Road to Awakening” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️
I was 7 months pregnant when I first heard this song, and I used to sit in front of the TV and watch the video clip over and over and over again… Sadly my only son passed away this month August 2023 and he was just 18 years young. Now I cry singing this song to him every single day. This is my song to him. Wherever you are I just wanted to let you know that I will never forget you. I love you with my whole soul. I'll think about you every single day of my life until the day I'm gone. I just want to let you know that I will always love you and I will always be here for you. Mama loves you Léo. Eu te amo Léo e vou amar você para sempre. Você será para sempre o melhor filho que eu poderia ter. Você sempre será o amor da minha vida, o tesouro da mamãe. Te amo lindão ❤ 🤘🏻

The Reason is such an iconic song. It's one of those songs songwriters wish they have written. It's that magic moment that doesn't happen very often. The song's message is about redeeming yourself and trying to be a better person. It's very relatable and sincere. As an artist, if you're sincere about your work, people will resonate with it. They can feel what you feel.

I mean the song has a pretty simple melody along with simple lyrics. It’s a good song, but I wouldn’t go out and say it’s something artists wish they wrote. You have to remember this was like Hoobastank’s one hit wonder. They didn’t change the face of the music industry. Look at a band like Nirvana and what they were capable of doing in less than a decade. Kurt’s songwriting had really dark and raw meanings to it. Sure the melodies were simple too, but it was so different that it completely destroyed 80s glam metal and ushered in the new genre of grunge. Coldplay is another band that was very popular during the time of Hoobastank and they too have written a lot of “magic moment” songs that have influenced a lot of bands, especially on their first 3 albums. I just feel like you really like this song a lot and are making some bold assumptions toward a band that hasn’t had a history of being iconic except for 1 song.
