I have no idea who you are Catherine. But that is a remarkable thing you admitting. I am still deeply hurting over my most recent loved one who accused me of all sorts of incredibly nasty things which ultimately made me loose my job and become homeless. This song itself was left in a playlist she created and although she hasn’t said so, I feel perhaps she’s done it for the very same reason you have made your comment about.

My daughter dedicated this song to me years ago while I was driving her to school. I really didn't pay attention to it until now. She was on drugs, alcohol etc., I tried everything I could think of to help her. All I could do was to get on my knees daily for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to save her. Well, our lord and savior saved her, and she's happily married now. Thank you for such a touching song that hits the heart so beautifully!

Hate to be that person, but im sure you as her dad could have dine alot more to save her from drug abuse than to pray every day. Like talking to her fir example. Telling her you still love her. Going to therapy with her. Something more than waiting and hoping.

I dedicated this song to my daughter when I was finally in recovery for drugs and alcohol. Every word of this is how I still feel and my daughter and now her son continue to be the reason I stay clean and sober.

My 25yo sister just died from Stage 4 Colon Cancer last Friday June 3rd, this was the last song I sang to her and then she died the next morning! No one is perfect. We all have been young and stupid at some point. You will get her back if you want. I'm now 65 yo and fxxxxd up my kids life when in my early 30s. It's not too late for you. I have 2 wonderful kids and a beautiful grand daughter. I lost my youngest to cancer when she was just 16. Love and cherish your daughter but don't beat yourself up and don't waste time. You will heal and be proud. Now I'm old and still stupid but the kids just laugh!

I dedicate this song to my lovely and beautiful wife who stood by side through all of my struggles and seen me fall several times with my addiction to alcohol. I just started my sober life and just completed 11 months. The words to this song is 100% my life and I have changed and that reason is my wife who helped me do it.

I don’t think I’ll ever truly forgive myself for the things I’ve done… but now, I haven’t stolen in years, I found my calling (I’m a cook) I never thought I was good at anything til I started cooking. Im getting my own place soon and I’m about to turn 23. I still have my faults…he’ll I’m 22 still living with my parents.. but I’m trying.. I dedicate this song to my dad, who was always reserved in his expression of attachment. I used to think that he loved my sister more than he loved me, but today as he battles for life, I realize this is probably the biggest mistake of my life - and I want to say sorry for all the hard feeelings I had. Sadly the inevitable happened a few weeks back, but now I understand how difficult it is to be a parent. Papa, it's never easy to be a dad, and I am glad I learnt this early in life.

My mother who was in prison for 8 years,dedicated this song to me , I was only 5 months and given to my grandparents when I met her she was the sweetest woman ever , and I love her so very much, this song never fails to bring me to tears.

i lost my dad on the 7th. i ended up getting his PS5 and was listening to spotify on it, but had taken off the headset for a bit. i heard the end of this song playing from them and popped them back on. i listened for a minute before restarting it. my dad was a pretty bad alcoholic and it affected our relationship at times.. i fully believe this was his way of saying sorry before he went. i’ll forever think of him when i hear this song now.

You know what, I was only 13 when this song became a smash hit it was 2004 and I used to listen to this with my ears only cause it sounds so good, and now February 19, 2021 at around 4:30 in the afternoon, I suddenly remember this song and I listened to it and just today, I felt the true meaning of this song and to be honest I wept in tears cause it breaks my wholeness. Cause the song is a song for all of us. It's about forgiveness, changing for the better, making peace and love. The song is telling the whole world to stop hatred, stop the violence, stop any kind of different negativities. This song is telling the whole world, that: I HOPE THERE IS NO WAR, I HOPE THERE IS NO HATRED, I HOPE THERE IS NO RACISM OR DIVISIVENESS, I HOPE THERE IS NO CHEATING AND BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN AND SACRIFICING. This is the song of our daughter to us. When finally she came home and changed all her negative ways. I have lived a traumatic life, I have lost so much, I have personality disorder, abandonment issues. I'm okay when things are good, when things go bad I'm worse. Self destructive. I met a girl online, I fucked up so bad. Really bad. I will never understand hurting those you love the most, I regret my actions every day. If not for her, realizing I'd do anything for her, realizing my wrongdoings, seeking help, and so forth. I'd never get any better. She's truly an angel, she's saving me every day, even after the hurt, her existence gives me strength, and I'm so thankful for her. 💙

I dedicate this song to my wife of 9yrs and to my family. I never ment to hurt you when I was abusing alcohol, but I am glad to say, I'm now 5 month's sober and counting and it feels so good. And most of all, I'm extremely grateful to my higher power that my marriage is being restored.

I was struggling, and that among many other things is what fueled it, but thats absolutely no excuse. No one should be treated like that, especially your own mother. This song will definitely stand the test of time. It reminds me that I am not perfect and that nobody is and that I do make mistakes and I'm never gonna stop making mistakes. This song is also dedicated to my mom because she changed who she used to be for me. Through my early childhood and most of my single digit years she did a lot of drugs and hung out with a lot of sketchy people and she turned her life around for me. The most powerful song ever! This truly is a song on the radio that you should never get sick of hearing over and over on the radio.

Sobriety is one of the few pains that are worth going through every second of every day. Keep your chin up everyone going sober. When the hours become days which eventually become months it’ll be rewarding to experience renewed life and love. I was a severe alcoholic and drug addict so I get the pain. As someone who never had hope and resigned with killing myself with these habits, I can promise you there is an end. Change is inevitable. The same way the fun of a roller coaster comes to an end, so will the pain. It may take time, a very long time, it took me 10 years, but it does come to an end. You got this 💪🏽
