The REALITY of Downhill Mountain Bike Racing

Спорт

The Trek Factory Racing Downhill squad raced at the absolute limit in 2023. Nothing came easy, from podiums and champagne one week, to crashes and heartbreak the next. Ride along with Loris Vergier, Kade Edwards and Bodhi Kuhn in one of the most revealing looks at life on the DH World Cup circuit you'll ever see, and learn what it takes - both mentally and physically - to compete in one of the most cruel and thrilling sports in the world.

Insanely good video, I loved Loris's breakdown of how he sees Kade as a biker and I think its spot on, the sport needs riders like Kade who aren't sketch perfect but overall amazing bike riders, I don't think theres anyone on the circuit who doesn''t wish they could ride like Kade.

Long form content for the win. Thanks for showing us all the insights, emotions and thoughts of the team. Making a documentary is never easy but its so worth it. Props to the filmcrew for capturing action shots, amazing broll and combined it to a nice edit. You really choose the right shots to give us the feeling that was going on. More of this please.

These Trek docs are so good. Sleeper guys know their craft for sure. Loris is my favourite rider and I wish the Trek Factory Team the very best for next for next year. Good luck guys 🤞

Loris is such a smooth rider. It's a real pleasure to watch him ride on a DH track. Kade's confidence to ride any bike I've only seen before on Ratboy. Cheers & good luck mates!

Man I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this video! Excellent editing and mood setting with the music. Kade, Bodhi and Loris are all the real deal in their own individual ways. I especially am impressed by Loris though …. He is truly an artisan when it comes to DH racing! So precise, consistent, calm, and confident. Congrats on 3rd place overall for the 2023 season Loris. I can’t wait for the next season now!

How Loris doesn't have an overall title yet is beyond me. He's fast, consistent and safe. This is the recipe for overall titles.

Great video, really hoping they go again in 24. As was mentioned on a podcast (B-Line, I think, if not Making up the Numbers or Downtime), in addition to the p and P statuses for DH races, there needs to be a K status where Kade gets a pass to finals to tear the place up!

Kade Edwards……that’s all! I ride with a 17 year old that is (no lie) a spitting image of him. We bailed racing, so he can express himself and be “that insane good rider” not just racer. It’s way better for both of us and more fun😊🤙🏾 Kade could literally do anything he wants, other then just race! Uptown top rankin LORD🤙🏾

@@elslanedog1264 I found it interesting that everyone up until them was given a title/name, but they were not. Representation and role models in the industry, beyond pro riders, are important. We should not be lowering our standards to those of some who can't keep it in their pants. But, I get your point, it is too bad that we are at this point as a community.

Um, didnt Trek just lose Kade Edwards and Vali Holl? 🚩 I feel like Trek camaraderie comes off extremely cold compared to other teams. Their bikes are undeniably good, so something is off. Riders have short shelf life on Trek.

Vali was on a different Trek team. Kade isn't racing DH next year (at least not the full series) but no work if he's off Trek. It seems silly Trek to let him go.

@@asun3630 It's not officially been stated but it seems that he ran out of 100% helmets with Red Bull paint on, so they stopped him from racing altogether rather than him race with a Fox Redbull helmet borrowed from Jackson Goldstone. Pretty frustrating when he's obviously going to be more loyal to Redbull than 100% and they prevented him from actually racing his last World Cup. Plus it's bad press for 100%.

@@MrKWAMEFLIP awe, yeah contract fine print probably. 100% May have been obligated based on terms to not let him ride. They def need to have emergency helmets for this type of situation. They learned the hard way because Kade is my favorite rider to watch. He doesn’t even crack podiums but he by far a fan fav.
