EVERGREEN
Спорт
Kenda Presents, in association with Vallee Bras-Du-Nord and Quebec Velo De Montagne, "Evergreen," a mountain bike short film featuring Brett Rheeder.
In early 2022, I caught up with my friend and Red Bull Rampage digger, Austin Davignon, when he mentioned he was building trails for Vallee Bras-Du-Nord for the season. I'm always scheming new project ideas, so I suggested he build a custom trail for us to film a project. He said he would inquire with the park but couldn't promise anything. Fast forward 12 months, after a couple strings pulled and some skilled trail builders hard at work, Clay Porter, Rupert Walker, Tyler Ravelle, and I found ourselves flying across the country with bikes, camera gear and excitement to shoot the brand-new trail at VBN.
Thank you to everyone involved in this project: VBN Trail Crew, Alexandra Power, Antoine Lebeau, Alexandre Verret, Frédéric Asselin, Gabriel Gakwaya, Jade Demers, Jon Gregory, Austin Davignon, and Lawrence Reti, to name a few.
"From trail building to cinematography, every person who worked on this project is a master at their work, which was inspiring on many levels. This was my first project of the 2023 season, and I couldn't have asked for a better crew. The dirt at VBN is incredible, and the conditions were perfect. I can't thank everyone enough who made this project come to life." - Brett Rheeder.
"Evergreen was a dream project through and through. Insane build. Insane rider. Insane crew. If every project I worked on had Evergreen's ingredients, I would be living my nirvana as an artist. Evergreen is the dream realized and actualized." - Clay Porter.
"I was so surprised with my experience shooting in Quebec and specifically VBN. The lush green forests, rolling mountains and perfectly made trails were a photographer's dream. Coming from the West Coast, I had no idea Quebec held so much hidden beauty." - Tyler Ravelle.
"Working with Brett, Clay and Tyler on this was such an inspiring experience. I'm really proud of what the crew created. The vibes were high, and the boys were firing! Brett's riding mixed with Clay's directing is a special combination!" - Rupert Walker.
Shot on "KRAKEN" at Vallee Brad-Du-Nord in Saint-Raymond, Quebec, with Kenda Pinner Pro ATC Tires.

@@mymomsbasement69 its really hard to tell. I don't think he did because I think they would have actually shown it. If he did and they didn't they missed the banger of the video.
So sick! Putting this on repeat for the rest of the day.

We've been waiting two years to finally see this one, suchhhhh a banger from Brett!
Quite the video Brett! Insane everything. And Vallee Bras du Nord is rad.
Yet another masterpiece!! Clay, you are something else man!! Brett, keep bringing the one -off edits!! Legends!
the way he keeps his eyes locked on the landing during his backflips is just so steezy to me. Brett has such a unique style of riding

So fluid and effortless. Super strong. The intimacy/trust of the bike is evident
One of the most impressive MTB vids on YT. On the edit: We've been bullied into the fast twitch, strobe affect that induces headache & stroke with the sound track of whizzing hubs (ahem Semenuk). With one exception near the end, this edit just gives pure bliss. Like you're in a quiet forest with that 1 inspiring song to ride to. Flowing thru the berms in slow motion in your mind before full send. Great art. On the trail: The build looks better than on point. Exceptional creativity and flow. Mixing up long and tight berms, quarter pipes, landing pads between streams, mmmm that's it. On the ride: just watch this again just for Brett's footwork (e.g. 1:09, 1:21, 1:30). Then again at where Brett puts his eyeballs e.g. 1:50 on that backflip hip. SERIOUSLY!?! At 2:40 scanning on the next trick. And Brett's a master at pumping legs to get boost, preload and compression. Got this one on loop.

I agree! Capturing his focus and the footwork in slow motion adds so much to this video. Well done!!
How someone could watch Brett ride and not be immediately inspired to walk out the door with gear in bag and bike under foot and go fine tune ones own riding until it is dialed in per their own ability is beyond me. Even with no words spoken beyond the playlist paired with his riding, his riding is so clean, that one can very easily polish their own skills by just watching. Yet Also understanding that no matter which steed he takes from the stable, it is very much like his bike attaches itself to him. Knowing even if I worked endlessly on my steez I would not be able to ride nearly that flawlessly, I also know if I did not watch and rewatch his videos I would also not be where I currently am as a rider, and if I have ever been in doubt and have come up short from a dialed, I know that if I watch his runs in slow motion that I am able to see what I myself wasn't seeing or understanding before from watching him fly as smooth as though he put not even the slightest bit of effort all while realistically there isn't another rider that has worked harder than he has to become the flawless and fearless rider he is today. Thank you Sir!
Quebec looks fantastic for mtb
Killer filming , building and riding ! Well done !
The song choice 🔥
Arguably, the best song/video editing ever.

Love your style mate🤘🏼🔥 awesome to see you riding
Does a phenomenal edit..... really a great blend of shots that pull each frame together nicely. The motion blue slow mo and time laps all well executed to to ramp up some nice energy and that tree ride was jaw dropping!
Awesome!
i have a long time that i dont see soooooooo goooood video here. this is amazing
This is an unbelievable edit, I love it! It's so well balanced, the shots, the pacing the variety. Sometimes edits get too "excited" and Flash millions of shots. The intro slo mo was super captivating as well. I freaking love the hell out of this edit, such a good job ❤

This is more than just an edit! This is a whole genre in itself! Great choice with the music using Rufus Du Sol, I got really excited hearing them as the soundtrack, fits the mood and style perfectly. You and your team have always been a huge inspiration to me as a 15 year old enduro rider and filmmaker from Australia. Keep up the amazing work, and just maybe I'll be able to meet you one day...
