*Living off-grid can be a rewarding experience, but it also comes with its own unique set of challenges. The lack of access to modern amenities like electricity and plumbing can make day-to-day life more difficult. Additionally, living off-grid often requires a significant investment in self-sufficiency, including growing your own food and managing your own waste. However, for those who are committed to the lifestyle, the benefits can be well worth the effort.*

The realities of off-grid living: have a lot of money so you can buy land. But I am glad to see they are taking their children's needs seriously.

I live 95% off grid 20 miles away from the nearest town. I use Solar Power, but have county water... too many bad chemicals in ground water. I shop online BECAUSE I don't have a car right now, and I am using electrical appliances with my Solar Energy. I charge up my phone via Solar, pay my bills on-line or over the phone. My monthly living expenses have gone down from almost $ 500 per month, to $ 150 per month. My water bill and phone bill. So, it is possible to live completely off the grid, but you have to make sacrifices, and you have to LEARN how to grow, build, sew, hunt, fish and get back to the basics. You also have to have the drive to do all that, and it takes money to have tools that don't require electricity (other then tools that can be used as they are hooked up to your Solar Power). Also what do you do in emergencies? Are you prepared for all that? Do you have help doing everything when you are out in the wilderness?

I do not understand what this is. Like, can you watch a full report about these guys somewhere? Is there a story? Where are they? How exactly are they planning to finance what? What is the condition of the older child, what was he diagnosed with? *headscratch*. I really do not know what to do with this. Apart from the urge to warn these guys, it does not look like a place where they can stay with kids, no matter their condition. Hope they are well.

Nah , weak . They have a special needs child and I would imagine part of the reason for being off grid as they want to shelter him from the many evils of society that he would be easily prone to. They’re just attempting to live a life that is impractical given his condition. This boy needs to be raised with proper medical attention and oversight and that is impossible where they are. They are just running from your problems. Nothing strong here at all.

Living off the grid is ridiculous. You’re doing nothing for your children than an annual camping trip could accomplish. Everyone thinks it’s a great idea until they get sick and then watch how fast they run back to reality.

The best case for this couple is to only have an off-grid property they visit on occasion. 🌳 With their son's needs, it will be far more practical and less stressful if they live where they can access healthcare professionals readily. 🩺🥼
