Will miss him greatly, been a huge fan since I was 15 and last year I finally got to meet him, after seeing them locally every year for the last 10/12 years. Fabulous energy, right to the end...only just saw them in September. Always loved hearing him sing this Rip Eddie

I bet they do! I love them...even more after I watched their documentary on bbc I player. Great artists and characters...I was sad for the guy who'd been in care...maybe if he'd been born later on...he'd have got lots of support from services that are out there now.
Dopest cut they made, hands down...
beautiful beyond belief- R.I.P Ray Lake (on the vocals)
What a great song. This should have been massive. It's not only tuneful and melodic but relevant and poignant. This says something.

I can hear the pain in his voice! Wow!
Man, its like this song was made to be sampled from! Thumbs up if Freddie Gibbs & Madlib brought you here!
My Dad lived in Stanhope House in Upper Stanhope Street, Liverpool. I've literally just found out now that there's a song about the area he came from.
So proud to be a Scouser born and raised, so many great bands to come out of our great city over the years, the music and football city 🎸🎹🎷🎤🎧🎤🎶🎼🎻🥁⚽️🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

My favourite Liverpool band too. I was 2 when this was released, growing up in the city. I loved 'Can you feel the force' and asked my dad to constantly play it 😂 when it was released. I think I will be buying 4 from 8 on vinyl as this album is amazing.
THIS TRACK CHILDREN OF THE GHETTO IT IS ON THE ALBUM 4 FROM 8..IT WAS WRITTEN BY BROTHERS Chris and Eddie Amoo OF THE REAL THING..AND SANG BY THE REAL THING...PHOTO OF THEM IN THE BACK GROUND THE REAL THING WERE FROM LIVERPOOL AND THE MEMBERS WERE... Chris and Eddie Amoo... RAY LAKE AND DAVE SMITH This track from their 1977 album “4 From 8 THE Liverpool 8 postal district they grew up in). The UK band had big hits with “You To Me Are Everything”, Can’t Get By Without You” in 1976 & a dance floor hit with “Can You Feel The Force” in 1979. .R.I.P EDDIE AMOO...😎
RIP Mr Eddie Amoo, condolences to your family, one love - from granby street
Currensy brought me to Phillip Bailey and he brought me here. All of them Masterpieces
So many memories... inner-city Liverpool, childhood, parents, family, grandparents ❤️
This is probably the most perfect medley of a ballad with a funk groove next to Stevie Wonders's Ordinary pain, & Jackson 5's I am love. The British funky soul band The Real Thing probably weren't celebrated in the states as much as Heatwave was, but their original song became a beloved classic when Philip Bailey of EWF touched it on his solo album Walking on the Chinese wall. Mary J Blige's sentimental rendition is a staple of her live shows. The song's intro seems to incite Mos def's Umi says.

I agree with your comment, fantastic song, and indeed Mos Def might have listened to this before making Umi says. Courtney Pine also made an enjoyable version . Their own '86 remake is good enough for me.

Used to know you all in The Sportsman in the 70's, what a great times they were , went to every concert in Liverpool and beyond back then. So sorry to read of Eddies passing. RIP Eddie. i was looking everywhere for this..i came across a lot of other remakes that sounded good..but this one is the best..
cant wait to do my version of this song it means so much to my heart
Superb, yet it doesn’t seem to get much airplay nowadays. And what about tracks like “I wish you well” and “Kathy”. When first heard, this album sounded incredibly modern, ahead of its time. It’s an absolute underplayed British classic. I just played it again for the first time in twenty five years.
Che eleganza che scharme Sublime Meravigliosa Fantastica music top Song for everrrrr 💪👏👏👀👣💇👍🌠❤

Just listened to 2 awful covers of this by BillBailey and MJB.. Neither get within a million miles of Ray's vocal or capture that angst.. In my opinion it's uncoverable.
