Actually, now that we are in high season, the streets are so much more corwded and congested than this.

What will limit las terranas development is those narrow streets. And it's also has many hills on the side

You have some valid points! Some people there would probably want it to stay the way it is, growth wise.

Ahh Coconut Jo, you almost had it complete, we’ve been going to Las Terrenas every January for the last five years and for the Dominican republic for the last 25 years and I’ve yet to find a complete KZread video until I found yours but in my opinion you left one step out when you get to the boat hotels I wish you would’ve made a right and gone down that end of las terranes towards the Hotel Playa Colibri or Costarena Beach Hotel on Francisco Alberto street to the end because that’s really the end that is so unpopulated and that’s where we stay. Still very good, maybe add that end next time ?

Hola! I did walk down that way but just a little. They were/are doing some major upgrades to the beach area there behind the boat hotels. I think you are going to really enjoy it when it is complete. Thanks for watching and for your comment!! Safe travels!!

Hi Joe, thank you for the content, it shows another side of Las Terrenas. Ive never been there myself but your video gave me a preview. Im sure its beautiful where the expats live but the town to me still seems very under developed. Seems like not much to do but beaches and I doubt it will be the next Punta Cana. I did see in someone elses video that the next big thing might be Pedernales, would you be able to give us a video on that? The person I follow on youtube is William Ramos, he gives good stuff too. Thank you Joe, be safe and God bless!

Thanks for watching and for your comment! Beautiful area but I agree on the town. I was expecting something a little bit better but I wasn’t totally surprised, people say it’s a Developing Country and I would agree. On Pedernales, are you referring to area on the southwest coast of the country close to the border? If so I doubt I’ll make it that far anytime soon, we did visit PARAISO, very unique area! I wouldn’t think that it would be the next big thing due to the nearest airport SDQ being over 3 hours away, but don’t quote me on that.

I wish more KZreadrs would show this side of LT; even though the beaches are lovely, including all the green areas in front of them, the downtown core has totally put me off. I have been here for a few weeks now with high hopes of possibly staying here longer but I feel that this is not the right place for me. It is also difficult to totally avoid the downtown area if one needs groceries etc. For me, the noise, filth and toxic exhaust from motorcycles makes being on the street, cycling, riding or driving very unpleasant.

Thanks for watching and for your comments! Las Terrenas definitely has some unique Dominican Republic sights and sounds. I did notice that the motos obey the few traffic lights 🚦, well more than most areas I’ve been to.
