Just leave her alone and mind your own business :) Also with the Heechul thing, SM artist (at least older ones) are all friends to some degree so it was all fun and jokes on Knowing bros. Let's be real. Irene is completely stunning, she is one of the best visuals in South Korea, so she must be aware that many people only like her because of her looks, for example, on Knowing Bros Irene was talking about something, and out of nowhere a guy asked is she had always been that pretty, which lead to a conversation about Irene's beauty. It doesn't matter what show they go to, the hosts ALWAYS talk about Irene's beauty, and I mean, who wouldn't right? She's the visual of her group. But the hosts are forgetting that she's also the main rapper, and the lead dancer and a vocalist, she's so freaking talented but people only focus on her beauty which is SO annoying to me as an Irene biased person.

I was literally talking about how Irene at least OWNED UP to her mistake, where as most celebs would've stayed silent/tried to sweep it under the rug. Since when did someone's face suddenly become a reason for them to be harassed online? That other person was also a woman, so can confirm it's not always men who objectify Irene, a fair share of women do it too by reducing her to only a "pretty face". As a RV stan since debut, we know she's much more than that, seeing how she's willing to reflect and learn from mistakes just shows she wants to grow as a person. How can you NOT stan her?

I have some opinions as a fellow asian woman, living in a very conservative society. I cannot count the number of times beautiful women (or just women) get lewd stares and touches from unknown men at any damn place. Also, it's always got to be the woman who has to bend to the will of their male counterparts. Even in jobs we get biased and at times are expected to work harder than most if we want to be taken seriously. Female idols, as it is, go through a lot of mistreatment. On top of that Irene is known primarily cause of her visuals. I cannot imagine the number of times she probably had come across nasty comments or ill intentions and all this not just as an idol, maybe previously too. That comment from the male fan on LYSN surely wasn't the first or the last one (as sad as it is). It's very normal for women to be wary of unknown people. Irene is also very introverted so it makes her extra cautious. If you see her around familiar people, you'll see how loud, chaotic, happy and free she looks. She's not cold. She's just human guys. I get her. I have been like her at times around men. So there's really no logic in judging her.

@@ryananderson7382 I think it comes down to what you are and simply aren't personally ok with. As a woman I'm ok with another woman invading my personal space, even if I don't know them well, to a *certain* extent because they're fellow women. But if a man tried to do the same then yes, I'm gonna lock up and get uncomfortable. You have to realize that the woman of this generation have been taught since day one to be weary of men we don't know well. Or just men in general, because they might try to assault us. That type of teaching gets drilled into a lot of our heads from a very young age to always be vigilant and protect yourself as much as you can. Obviously a lot of these pretenses get dropped if you're dating a guy or just have a guy friend. But whenever it comes to a an unknown man invading your space? That uncomfortable feeling and mindest to guard yourself will most likely persist. Irene actually has close male friends like Suho. But when someone is being weird around her, like with San E, she can't hide how off that makes her feel. Which is fine. That's a normal response.

I as woman who has a pretty friend really understands irene's situation for being uncomfortable around men. whenever me and my friend hangs out, there will always some guys who looks at her with that hungry looks face. and believe me, it's really disgusting. even 2nd gen idols like sistar and snsd always warn their juniors to watch out around men in kpop industry. so irene who is one of top visual in kpop, might get a lot of uncomfortable treatments from men in the industry. so i think irene is not rude, she just being cautious.

Maybe “ uncomfortable around men “ and “ scared of how they might treat her” ~ she has boundaries and makes it clear. Most female idols put up with so much, I think. From public opinion to what they experience behind the scenes. Better to have an icy glare than to have to fake laugh when someone crosses the line.

I don’t think irene is scared of men but you can see that she gets uncomfortable around them. she seems more comfortable around her members, friends and girls. I feel like irene would feel uncomfortable and shy at first (around men and in people general) but I feel like she would slowly get comfortable the more you spend time with her.

I can totally relate to Irene. Being “beautiful” is not easy at all. People will act so weird and creepy around you just to get your attention and even try to be touchy. Last year I moved to another school and had this director that just wouldn’t leave me alone. He would always compliment me, tell me how beautiful I am and I was so uncomfortable. At the end of the school year he told me “You know..when I see these beautiful girls...” and chuckled without continuing his phrase. I literally had my eyes wide open. This man is married, he has kids and really had the guts to tell me such thing. I am so disgusted when I think about it. I literally can’t have a normal day going out because men would always come out of the blue trying to flirt with me or something. It happened to me even when I was at a cafeteria with my mom. I felt so embarrassed towards her. So guys, please, don’t judge Irene for being cautious with men. Maybe she has her reasons and she knows damn well how it feels like to have a bunch of creeps approaching you just because you’re pretty.

Sadly, these kind of situations are happening left and right to almost all the women. From a very young age we have to be cautious just because there is a possibility that some male creep would make an attempt to take advantage of us. At the same time, instead of trying to control these creepy men, people have decided that women have to act, dress, walk and talk a certain way to not to "provoke" men. We live in a 21 st century but some aspects of our lives are still medieval 😐

I think the thing I'm most annoyed with is the fact that a large part of the kpop fanbase is women and yet somehow those same girls can't understand being approached with unwanted advances and yet girls would be the first ones to bully & attack her over anything they hear. And that goes for all female idols like why in the hell are you a girl attacking another one over unverified rumors and debunked claims if they haven't harmed a single soul ever. It never makes sense and really broils down to envy of women like Irene because they know they'll never be her or experience a fraction of the attention she gets. That's why they come for Irene, its jealousy because they're upset she has what they lack. It's pathetic to be real honest.
