The Real Rambo | Hunting Eric Frein
Ойын-сауық
An ambush, a hunt, and a survivalist on the loose in vast Pennsylvania woods for almost two months. The real-life Rambo, Eric Frein was some man for one man.

I remember when this was all going on. There was a guy who sort of resembled Eric Frein. He didn't have a car and had to walk a couple miles to work. He got stopped at gunpoint like a dozen times. Eventually he wore a sign that read "Not Eric Frein". I felt bad for that guy, but from what I understand, people chipped in and bought him a cheap used car. Faith in humanity restored.

Ah yes, Scranton PA. Home of the shortest traffic light cycle intersection I've ever driven through. It went green-yellow-red in about 1.5 seconds, no exaggeration. This was coming from a side street crossing a major one. And that was the most memorable thing to me about my few months in Scranton.

That's not true
Frein was an unbalanced 'survivalist', a 'war dreamer'...but far from a 'real-life Rambo'...the character actually based on veterans who came back from war actually troubled from what they experienced. Keep in mind, Rambo didn't want to hurt anyone...he just wanted to be left alone. Frein was NONE of these...he wasn't a PTSD suffering combat vet seeking peace, he was a 'war movie aficionado' who had survival skills and a desire to be 'recognized'.

You took the words right out of my mouth. From what I gather about the situation, the only thing that is remotely similar to the First Blood movie were the people trying to hunt him down. There aren't many police units out there that are equipped to deal with things outside of their training manual, much less deep in the woods.

You are only comparing personality traits here. You can compare someone to someone else on other things too. Or are you just the simple minded? Sounds like you are nothing but a fan of Rambo movies getting butt hurt over a real life murderer being compared to him. Rambo set traps, evaded people using the woods, knew how to survive , and was a great shot with a gun. All things this guy did. So please, tell me how that isn’t like Rambo at all. You can compare someone to someone else based off of a shit load of other things than just personalities. So, in case you can’t read or didn’t read the above. The comparison is the actions they both did and the skills they have, not their personalities or what they went through in life. Not that hard to understand something that damn basic.

I was on my way to my job at mount airy casino everyday and had to take the detour and have my car checked every day ... So crazy to be that close to home... Eventually you will get caught... the way he did everything put him always one step ahead of the state police...I'll never forget being haunted everytime I had to go to work...who knew if this guy was gonna pop up and go rogue ...so happy they finally got him and it was only a matter of time because the forces came together and locked it down. Ty to the entire squad for getting the job done.

Wow, I can’t believe I forgot about this. I grew up in that area, and lived 15-20 minutes away from blooming grove at the time that they found him. I was in 9th grade, and remember having our safety drills in school (locking the classrooms and hiding etc ) while they were on the hunt for him 😶
I explored Birchwood right after he was caught and found the spot he made for himself in the hangar. He'd basically made a little fort in the middle of a bunch of stuff, as the place was loaded with miscellaneous things. Bunch of mats and mattresses, as it's an old resort. He had burrowed into the middle of this big pile, just stuff stacked and piled up, as you see in the shot in here. He'd found some books and magazines around, a few other random things. You could see signs of how heavily they descended on him. It was really wild to see. That place was really neat back then, before it got completely trashed and started decaying heavily.

Media sensationalism. The criminal thugs called cops and evil agents of the govs - drag these things out (especially cereal murderers) , and they release alleged clues they find along the way. To keep folks in suspense and hopefully fearing that they could be the next victim . Cuz the govs, through the media use it as a distraction from whatever evil deed the govs were up to perpetrating at the time, and the strong armed robbery of every city zen daily. And in return the criminal thug enforcers called cops and the evil agents of the govs - get media publicity. And those criminals get to be presented as heros on the tell lie vision, all over the world. And they get book deals. In exchange for dragging these investigations out, often letting killers continue to kill.

Saw the evidently true reality of things - He realized that the cops are actually criminal thug enforcers of the "CRIMINAL laws, CRIMINAL statutes, and CRIMINAL acts of the (criminal)CRIMINAL justice system".. And he was hoping to start something that might effect change. The criminal thugs called cops and evil criminal agents, strong armed rob the city zens blind 24/7 , the kidnap and cage the poor folks who cant "pay their dues to society/the govs" with cash, must sit in a cage until the thugs called cops rob their dues from the city zens, and thus "their dues are paid to society". And the cops also murder, stalk, terrorize, harrass, and do all of the things do criminal thugs do. And this dude saw the evident reality of things and hoped to start something that would effect change. But even if folks could effect change and free themselves from slavery to the evil crime boss slave lords called govs - Most folks think the evil govs are their friends, especially the criminal thug enforcers. Who actually protect the criminals and their crimes, by daring anyone to protect themselves against criminals, especially them/the govs, under threat of being kidnapped, caged, and held for ransom/dues. And possibly murdered. The criminal thugs called cops murder too. And rarely do they murder actual criminals - Only if they hve too. Usually they murder innocent non criminal offenders when they murder someone. And they treat the non criminals like dirt, and treat the real criminals with the utmost respect, and protect them from harm. With acception of the few they put to death, after collecting millions in dues under the guise of appeals. They block justice from being served, by protecting the criminals and earning money off of their misery. That is why dude did what he did.
