All the serial killer actors were great and then makeup was phenomenal but the Manson floored me it's almost as if they hired Charles Manson to shoot the scene before he died. The makeup, thev acting and the voice was just beyond perfect. David Fincher did something that Quentin Tarantino couldn't do with the same actor that played Manson in his film.

Subroto Xing I’m not so sure about that. He’s an extreme narcissist and contacted the police to keep his infamy, and the public’s fear, active. He liked lording his continued freedom over the police. In prison he is barred from media beyond letters, can’t see programs or read stories about his murders, and doesn’t get to feel superior. He’s old, but not on death’s door. I think it’s likely he would have spent another decade taunting the police and public, probably not even confessing on his death bed. He’d consider it winning to never be caught. But once he was, he was going to make damn sure he kept everyone riveted by making his public confessions.

Just wished they focused more on the actual killers, crimes, evidence or crazyness, and less on the boring filler of the agents personal lives or sjw PC crap... People are watching for the killers and how the FBI profiler's hunted these guys, not their personal lives or how women were treated at work, how being gay was looked down upon, or how black's were treated different back then in those times... Unfortunately Mindhunter’s perfection plays into why it was cancelled. David Fincher is, like I’ll say 100 times, brilliant but unfortunately his brilliance is a downfall as a 10 minute scene is known to take 19 hours for him to shoot which obviously costs a lot of money and makes the show take years between seasons. It was so well-reviewed and has a big cult following but there are no current plans to make a third season thanks to a combination of low viewership, expensive production costs, and the strenuous work the show requires. This seems to happen to all the best Netflix shows.

Serial killings began when people started rapidly moving from countryside to cities in the 50s. Police didn't know how to handle this, there was no cooperation between different states. It escalated in the 70/80s and police was getting better and better at catching them over time.

I'm not focusing on the killing count. Ed Kemper is the most memorable of all of them. His intelligence, his calm demeanor, his "philosophy" about his killings, his self-awareness, his honesty on his motive, his behavior and his way of dealing with it. This guy did horrible things to human beings and he doesn't even look ashamed. It's not meanness, it's simply that he seriously sees his actions as a result of events, nothing more. He's fascinating (in a sick way but still fascinating)...

Great video, but man, next time make the background music more subtle. It was appropriate but really noticeable.

"Summer of Sam" as it is popularly known, was in 1977 (not 1976). It was also the year (summer) of the NYC blackout.

A fabulous Netflix series. I was riveted until the conclusion. The best TV series there is at the moment hands down. You can just see the quality of the writing, directing and cinematography in this not to mention the acting. You can see they all worked so hard to bring a true to life tale to life. You can see David Fincher's brilliant guiding hand in the production values alone. I was very impressed.

The constant ringing in the background music is extremely distracting. What's the purpose of it, to drive someone to murder?

Thank you! I thought I was the only one. I was so annoyed how it got louder towards the end of each sum up of the killers. Like wtf I can barely hear the narrator! I'm trying to hear the facts lol

@@illumiyanii Yes. And there are plenty of people like me who have a hearing impairment; background music is especially troublesome, and that ringing sound even overshadowed that. Far too many people who put together videos make the mistake of having the sound level of the music way too high.

Ditto. I don't think I can actually finish watching this video, which is a shame, because the topic is interesting. But the horror-movie music in the background just makes it too difficult to focus on the material presented.

I am from Wichita and was a kid and teen during BTK's murders. It's a small city and then was only around 200k people in the city and surrounding areas. It was scary when he killed and everyone knew he would kill again, but not when.
