This is something i've always struggled with and have been thinking a lot about lately; making excuses instead of being upfront, over explaining, justifying the 'white lie' or on the flip side going ahead with doing what doesnt align with me to people please. Under each of those criteria (each being avoidant) I can see now how it generally ended up having more of a negative outcome on the relationship (they do subconsciously know something is off) than if I had just been straight up and honest to begin with. Loving this content Alyse! Thank you so much. It feels very flow, authentic and real. Looking forward to the next 🙏 wishing you happiness

👍 Digging the new format. Keep answering those calls. I’m absolutely here for the evolution. 🙊 My immediate gut-heart reaction to this video was “I don’t do this to other people, but I sure do it to myself.” 🏃‍♀️Then I ran with that thought. 🧠 I had a whole realization that when the ptsd in me is triggered I will throw everything I know out the window. I will do/eat/drink whatever I want seeking solace from the feelings. 🧠 Taking it further, I realize that I have anchored myself to the trauma by using it as an excuse to deviate from the growth I am meant to pursue. 🦄 Grateful for you.

Great advice to share! I discovered this awareness a while back when I noticed how I felt when others responded honestly when they didn't want to do something. I loved that they stood bold in saying how they really felt instead of making some excuse (that didn't seem true) for not wanting to come. I had the desire to have that confidence and do the same because their reactions reflected a "secure in themselves person". Since discovering this, and practicing it, it has made me feel so much better and no relationships have been effected negatively. Only the relationship with myself has improved. I feel very grounded. I think everyone just truly wants honestly, and if others can't handle your honest truth then they are just surface level friends. I can feel that you are nervous with this new way of videos. However if it aligns with you, keep consistent and do what your heart feels. It may take months to years to capture more of a following for the more serious content, but I value it dearly and I am sure others do too. It quite refreshing to see your growth and just the fact that you took such a long break shows that you were really doing some inner work. Change can come in so many ways and we just have to flow with it knowing that we are growing more and more each day even if it is hard to see sometimes. Sending you love!

Thank you Alyse...these words you speak are valuable. The Truth will always prevail. I told a little white lie the other day. I can't tell you how long it had been since I lied before that. Even as a child I didn't like to lie. I lied a lot as a teenager. I had an eating disorder that led me to living a double life. I fell under the illusion of separateness. I live in northern California but I also grew up in CT. and from my hometown I traveled to Hawaii in my early 20s and I Remembered who I was. I began healing from self hatred. After many lessons in forgiveness, I am now in my late twenties, years have gone by and I have remained firm in living Honestly, and openly. And this little white lie I told the other day...I felt like it wasn't a big deal. The day went on and I started to feel this heavy weight sitting within my gut. As the evening approached I actually felt sick. It was eating me alive. It felt like I drank poison. I prayed for a long time. All night into the morning for God to cleanse me. Eventually it passed. I choose to live in Truth.

that’s good Alyse.. very thoughtful.. I especially like the part about a society of integrity and also rewiring and reworking our relationships so we can be surrounded by people who fully honor the truth and our alignment (because being genuinely accepted and loved helps give us the freedom to be truthful and honor our integrity

Really interesting topic, aligned with me❤ It’s so fun to discover the power of a real “NO” and a real “YES”, when we really feel like we express to others who we are. I often need to add justifications with a “NO”, like it’s not acceptable to refuse something without expressing some reasons to the other person… However, I know it’s just how I feel it and it is enough to decline anything without reasons expressed.🙏💪 The other thing that is important for me to remember, on this beautiful learning process Alyse is talking about, is to keep in mind that perfection is not the goal. Doing what’s possible for us is, and being aware of our truth☺️ Thanks everyone for your strong energy!!!

I didn't really understand this fully. If you make up a reason for not doing something, that's called a LIE. And yes, it's not energetically sound to conduct yourself in relationships that way. But it seemed like you were also using examples of legit reasons that people hold on to and don't serve them and so that is why I was confused.

hi raina! to clarify, i was more referring to "excuses" which may be valid / legit reasons but not necessarily the TRUE reason why someone may say 'no' to an invitation / request / etc.

I understand cancel culture is accountability culture, but it feels like cancel culture went way too far and for way too long. I know that my life isn’t the only one in the history of time to be upended and ruined by rumors and accusations. There are people in prison who were framed or found guilty based on faulty evidence. However, it pains me to see people take advantage of the situation of others for profit. There is nothing that most of us can do about people starting cult-like groups for money, but I wish that critical thinking instilled throughout education would change how many people fall prey to cultist and wannabe cultist. I’ve seen it so much over the past two years and I can’t not speak up about it.
