You just move left stick down then left if you are looking at the plane like he was. If you look at the big window opposite of plane you go up/forward then right, no running needed, just a jump

You still play these days sometimes? I would love to join up for some nostalgic infected play

Mediocre. The ones who are best are the ones who can run circles around the infected. Knife them. Kill them and do more than one rotation around the map. And just keep dodging and running. That’s the number ones
