I’m the first caller. I don’t tell people I have autism or include it on applications. Nobody ever knows unless I tell them. It doesn’t affect me. I also asked my wife about what she means about the 9 on a scale of 1-10 thing and she tells me that I have a short temper. While I do agree with this to a certain extent, we are currently in an employer market. I am not getting interviews as much as I may have presented and I know it’s not me. It’s this job market. As far as looking for other jobs outside of the field goes, I know I’d have to dumb down my resume and leave my education off of it if I want to find “something” for now. I do just wish you let me finish and say what I had to say before you told me that I’m not trying. I go out there every day and try to work Uber or Grubhub or DoorDash from 11am-3am 16 hours a day just to make the bare minimum. Thank you for the book though. Can’t wait to read it

@@harknowhere If you are truly diagnosed with autism, please provide some reading material for your wife, because having a short temper is not what autism is. Being easily frustrated in a neurotypical world might lead to outbursts of emotion, sure. Is this what she means? Being on the AS myself, please don't give up. I've had a very successful career. You can too.

Hey man- the advice I wish they had shared with you is this; stop listing your education on the hourly job apps. My wife and I own a restaurant and the problem with an applicant like you is that you are very obviously a temporary employee. We shy away from “over qualified” applicants because we know our costs to train and on board someone. It may feel dishonest but it’s not. You have to take care of your family at all costs. If you’re applying for a stocker position at Walmart, they don’t need to know you have a masters in UX design. I’m sorry your call was so poorly handled, I think Dave would have treated you much better.

@@DoctorSmartyPantsI’m the wife and I’m very well versed on autism. If you saw the clip you’d see he didn’t have much chance to explain much further as they spoke over him. I’m a therapist with a sister who has ASD and has done much research on the topic. I can promise you we discuss this further, but that is our business on what it is that he does or does not do in relation to it.

I agree. The job market "looks great right now" because there are tons of low pay side/gig jobs. Many fake job listings as well--companies post them up to lure talents, but don't hire. They rack up candidates and then when they need someone, they have a pool.

To the first caller - I'm autistic too. Personally I never mention this on my resume, application or at interview because some people don't understand it and might come to incorrect conclusions. What I noticed about myself is my eye contact used to be really bad. I've now practised and although its still an effort nobody would notice. Ask your friends and ex colleagues to be really honest and point out anything that might be hindering you. Also accepted you might just be struggling because they see a really smart guy and question why you want an entry levels job. The solution to that might be to have 2 resumes. One for the job you really want and a more basic version for the stop gap job.

For the over qualification: Maybe not include sophisticated degrees on your resume that goes to a "simple" job. Just put the necessary info and a small extra value on what you can bring in. Regarding putting the house in a trust - there are some places where you pay lower property taxes on your primary residence (versus a second home, rental property, etc.), and having the house in the name of a trust may disqualify you from the tax break. Everyone has room to grow and polish themselves. The whole base of this show is about owning past mistakes and looking ahead with new insight and mindset. Please be less judgmental and more supportive towards the personalities. Supportive doesn't mean not being honest with what you see, but be realistic and kind. Its about building up, not breaking down. We all can get better at that, regardless of being a listener, personality on screen or behind the scene. Be kind🙏🏼

Would I be better off: 1: Paying as much off on the current house as possible and just using that as the down payment. 2: Just paying the mortgage as is and saving cash to use as extra down payment 3: Paying off parts of the build as it goes a long, and whatever is left using the equity of the house as the down payment. I am aware that you pay taxes every time a phase of the build is done, on whatever money the bank loans you, on the construction loan. I was just looking to see if there was a major difference on what way you went about the loan(s) or not, or if there was a different option than that to save me money or have a lower monthly payment. Thank you for your time.

Garrett wants to be paid for five days per week while working only two days per week, as well as having his coursework paid by the distant relative. Well, wouldn't we all? Garrett needs to step into the real world. I've met numerous "Garrett's" in my life, and they all had roots in Salt Lake. Maybe there's something in the water there that breeds entitlement.

Greg, a call in radio show is not the place to ask about putting a house in a trust. You need an attorney for any decision regarding a trust as there are different kinds and you can have serious regrets about making a decision one way or another without expert advice. It's worth paying for - your situation is more complicated than just a trust. If you have enough money for all that land, you can pay an attorney.

And for the caller asking about why her listed home hasnt sold in 30 days, the answer is NOT call ramsey trusted real estate agent. She already is under contract with a broker, so no she cannot leggally do that. I hate George. The answer might be how the home is staged, the location, the condition, or the price. She should follow her agent's advice. A price drop after 60 days might make sense. The answer is not call another agent. 1:02:46
