“Behind the could is the sun still shining” is my favourite line of the poem.

Takes my breath away - H.W.Longfellow and that voice. Be still and know that I am God. Uplifting.......

In our life, we all face dark and dreary times. The speaker in the poem reminds us that no matter dark and difficult it may seem, it will pass too, and there are always better days to come.

After looking up Sir H.W. Longfellow I read that his wife was badly burned and he burned himself while saving her. She died the next day as a result of her injuries. I can see now why his days were Dark and Dreary. RIP Sir H.W. Longfellow and Frances Longfellow.
