I learned a lot from him on boat handling, rules of the road, and inland navigation. But after he handed her keys to me, I also took a class to learn what I didn’t already know. I think you're right. So, we see seemingly 4x4 trucks struggle all the time on this ramp. I have a hard time believing that many people don't know how to activate 4x4. Knowing how my GM works and looking at the manual for that Ram 1500, I think what's happening here is that 4H allows too much slippage between front and back. 4L on the other hand doesn't allow slippage between front back. I'm suspicious that's what happened in this example. Guy had him shift to 4L and it walked right out.

These videos are soooo interesting to me. As a boater fo the south west no body docks, we all nose up drop off our driver and then go out and idle/circle till we see our diver back down. Being apart of a boat club I swear everyone had the same system of husbands drive the truck, wives launch and then pick up the diver after he parks, then at the end of the day wives drop off and wait for the husband to back down, then she trailers. Heck as soon as I turned 13 my dad was teaching me to launch and trailer lol. This concept of docking for launch and trailer is so cray!

If you haven't tried it, put the truck in 1st gear, if you have paddles, click it to the lowest setting then touch the gas gently. You will have much greater success getting the boat out of the ramp. Worked like a dream back when the average boater had the family station wagon to tow the boat.

I'm 48 now and have been behind the helm on boats from 16' to 50' sport fishers. How do you end up behind the wheel of a half million dollar 40' boat with triple engines and are this sloppy when trying to dock? This is what is wrong with boating in SE Florida. People around here which is great. But for fucks sake if you want to get into boating, go a bit smaller to learn.
