The irony of the movie Wall Street playing everyday since it’s release. While I understand the need for insider trading laws, I don’t understand why politicians are exempt from them. Especially when the biggest political donors are Wall Street people or Wall Street adjacent.

I understand from some Wall Street traders I know that you have to make pretty much your entire career earnings (minus the roughly 50% tax) by the time you are in your early 30s, so divide your annual salary by about three to compare it to the real world where a career might last 30-45 years not 10-15 years. Invest your money wisely and you should do OK. I myself made almost a million in savings working in the tech field in Silicon Valley before I retired in my 40s, due to hard work, inspiration, preparation, and making money the old fashioned way: I inherited a boatload of money from a rich, childless relative.

The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.
