The Queen inspects the Royal Guard from 5 SCOTS outside Balmoral Castle in Scotland, August 2021
Her Majesty the Queen inspects the Royal Guard from Balaklava Company, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion (5 SCOTS) outside the gates of Balmoral Castle & Estate in August 2021. Also present were the Black Watch Pipes and Drums of 3 SCOTS, The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Shetland pony mascot L/Cpl Cruachan IV, with handler Pony Major Mark Wilkinson. The Queen was being officially welcomed as as she arrived for her summer residence at Balmoral in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

At this age, she still continued her device and carried herself with dignity just as her first day. So much respect for a human who gave full meaning to life
The Fact she could still Walk good at incredible age Bless Her she is missed

@@jamielyallleathan She absolutely adored Scotland, loved being at Balmoral where she could relax and even go to the shops in the villages where she would chat to locals. Speak to any local in Ballater and they all have a story about the day they met and spoke to the Queen! She had apparently stated more than once that she wanted to pass away at Balmoral, she got her wish and the Scots gave her a fantastic farewell. Watching the Royal hearse leave Balmoral and then see all the farmers having their tractors and horses all lined up facing the road from the field as the hearse drove through Royal Deeside was lovely too.

Beautiful sweet Queen. Dearly missed. Such an honor to accompany her Majesty. That was fantastic. Little miniature horse walking briskly.
Beautiful ceremonial tradition enhanced by the glorious sound of bagpipes
For such a wee lassie, she sure commands a lot of respect and devotion.
For a 95 year old woman, Queen Elizabeth is in great shape.

Lance corporal Cruichan Is his official title.
In loving memory of my Grandfather,Sgt Andrew Meacham Rankin late of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who paid the supreme sacrifice on the Somme 1916.
As an English ex serviceman I can honestly say the Royal Scots guard along with the Gurkha regiments are the most feared of all fighting combat regiments they are fearless and professional- the US guys not so
who'd imagen she die 1 year after this? She looks so strong and healthy, its truely amazing how the human body works aswell, she was 96, 70+ as her majesty, what a strong woman. There will never be a queen like Elizabeth II.

Her health suffered after losing her husband last year.
She is always so graceful and gracias. She is a true queen. I hope she lives to be 110 and still able to rein.

With love & smile, Her Majesty came to Scotland as a little cute girl. Took up the great responsibility ,so faithfully on to her dedicated shoulders ,then she just moved,we thought she's going to her house. RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 🇬🇧.

From the United States, Queen Elizabeth is indeed a global world leader, exits the car herself, walks and chats with the leader, all poise and elegance, inspecting every line of the soldiers. The drum major is fierce looking indeed, understand why the Scottish have the reputation as the fiercest fighters.

Smashing presentation weather was kind and The Queen God Bless Her was very pleasant, I noticed she did not have a bouquet for the regimental pony and the yapping dog would have made a super resting place for a Dirk.
Who could resist such a fine wearing of the kilt!? Thank u sir for all you stand for! 🥀

I've shared the first video and this one with my partner. He says he remembers, very well, doing this during his time with the Black Watch.

The official mascot is a Shetland pony named Cruachan. He was originally the regimental mascot of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders prior to the amalgamation. The first pony mascot was presented to the Argylls in 1929 by Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll and named after Ben Cruachan, a mountain in the Argylls' namesake lieutenancy, and the war cry of Clan Campbell, of whom the Duke of Argyll was chief. The current mascot is a Shetland pony Cruachan IV who was presented in late 2012.
I noticed that the bagpipe had the Black Watch tartan. Do all bagpipes have their respective clan tartans?
