Because they clearly weren't looking for a guy to nail cover versions of their hits, that's just the crazy fans who can't let go wanting that it'd seem. Queen were clearly after a great performer creating a party on stage and Adam certainly delivers that. If you fanatic nutters just want version to sound like you remember them, go listen to the fucking albums.

I don't get the "They didn't want someone who sounded too much like Freddie" logic. Why not just get a rapper to rap the words or a spoken word artist to merely talk out the lyrics rather then sing then, since we "don't want anything that sounds like Freddie". Adam sounds great and similar to Freddie, whereas Marc sounds more like the real deal. I don't think anybody would really complain if Marc fronted Queen.

Hearing Marc trying to sound like Freddie is a real sign of respect to keep the songs sounding as they were meant to sound. It makes me happy to hear his songs come to life again. Such a gift to Freddie. Freddie had a dominance, a passion and a fire that sucked you in though that you can't duplicate. So he can't be replaced. True fans of Queen would love a tribute to feel like they're experiencing a live concert they may never have had the chance to experience. I adore Freddie and Marc Martel would be my only chance to have a Queen experience with full respect given to Freddie because no one else could do his songs justice like him. Sorry Adam, those songs weren't meant for your sound in my opinion.

I just heard Adam Lambert in concert with Queen a few months ago, and I felt he was histrionically over-the-top, trying to sound like a big Broadway star. I mean his voice is certainly a good voice, but he actually was straining and trying so hard he got pitchy at times. Marc Martel voice is always pleasant to listen to and of course much more similar to Freddie. Brian and Rodger can choose whoever they like but I will not be going to see them play again. I’ve been going back and forth between Marc and Adam really listening in on each little nuance and each note for most of the major Queen hits. Although Adam has incredible range, which I respect, he tends to take too many liberties on many of the songs that Freddie has made legendary. When you hear a Queen song, you expect those certain notes, those highs, those lows and when it comes to THAT, I have to say it: Marc Martel is Freddie Mercury reborn! He hits every single note, he sounds like Freddie, hell he would even damn near look like Freddie if he donned a stache! And here’s the key difference between Adam and Marc, if you put on a Queen song sung by Adam, you’d know it’s Adam, HOWEVER, if you put on a song sung by Marc, you literally cannot tell the difference between him and Freddie! His voice is Uncannily like Freddie’s in every aspect! Hence MARC MARTEL! No competition!

You said it best. This needs to go up everywhere. I like Queen songs because of how they sound originally. Marc sings like the studio versions that I enjoy. Even though Freddie tend to often sing it differently most of the time in concerts, we go with it because it's Freddie. Adam sings this wierd off beat version that reminds you it's more like a cover even if he's playing with 2 of the Queen members. I don't like his style that he adds onto it. I'm use to hearing the studio version that I prefer with the certain notes that made it catchy. When i expect to hear those notes but then they go off, I'm surprised with wtf.

  • @alesplut6209

@@ZiShuDragon I agree! I don't mind if Queen (May and Taylor) make new songs with Adam, great. I'll listen to them or I won't, depends on quality, but they are most welcome. However, don't let Adam torture legendary old songs that Freddie used to sing (most of them also write). That is a tribute to original Queen and Freddie him self and Marc Martel does it THE BEST! Full stop! Or, let me say it this way ... Let's have two Queen projects: 1. Queen with Marc concerts - Queen "Old" Songs Tour; 2. Queen with Adam - Queen New Songs Tour; and then let's see which show gets more attendance. Do you dare, Brian and Roger?! To settle this for good?

Everybody's talking about the band doing a spot-on cover with Freddie (Marc) and Snape but the guy with the yellow jacket and a mustache is the real eye candy.

Freddie and David must both be so proud... I've already looped this twice already! EASILY my favourite cover of "Under Pressure", especially because of the crowd joining in! :D
