Wow, I've never heard of Power Quest, but it's definitely on my radar now. I'm the type of person who will try most anything if there are RPG mechanics in play. Always appreciate you calling out the lesser known games!

My dad got me a Gamecube for my birthday when I turned 6 and one of the games I had was Teen Titans. I never even liked the comic books or cartoon that much but that game is awesome. There are only a couple dozen video games I feel nostalgic for and that's one of them.

Great video Jay and always happy to make a suggestion when we find something as great as Pirates Plundarrr. A few games that come to mind that surprised me are Ghost Trick the Phantom Detective. You know me, I was probably expecting a survival horror but I got a really cool puzzle game that is both hilarious and amazingly fun! Kaze and the Wild Masks sat on my shelf for a long time and when I finally played it I couldn't believe I had dismissed it for so long. And I'll shout it from the rooftops, Among the Sleep I almost stopped playing because of the opening sequence. I wasn't quite sure what was going on but oh my God, what an amazing game with a very thought-provoking story. You think you know what's going on and then it totally throws you for a curveball!

A lot of people talk about that VW bug game on the N64. Although I've never seen or played it, I've got to try that one out.

Beetle adventure racing was one of my favorites from my childhood!

Holy crap! I've been trying to remember the name of Champions of Norrath for years! I vividly remembered playing this game with a friend of mine, but I was starting to think I imagined it when I could never track it down. I'm going to have to download the rom and throw it on my Steam Deck this weekend.

Champions of Norath is such a memorable and nostalgic game. Me and friend of mine who passed away decades ago played the crap out of this game. I still have his character save state from it. I treasure this game, great vid as always :)

My eyes kept bugging out with some of these surprising games I'd never heard of. I didn't know there were licensed Burger Time reskins, and that Defender port looks solid. I'd heard of that F4 game, I think, but now I'm going to hunt it down. Thanks for these eye-opening recs!

My surprise in the TMNT Cowabunga Collection was Radical Rescue - I never would have anticipated I’d get a TMNT Metroidvania for Game Boy, let alone a good one.

Beetle racing is absolutely a classic and yea dude the top spin series is amazing

As an adult, I love the racing in beetle adventure racing, but as a kid, we could never sit through the long courses and never made it past course 2. We spent all of our time in the battle mode, and to this day, it's what we play when we boot up beetle adventure racing.

Defender (the original arcade game) is one of my all-time favourite games. Defender on the GC is sitting on my backlog. Power Quest really intrigued me. Great list my brother 👌

I didn't hear about Beetle Adventure racing until like 10 years ago. a girl I was friends with told me it was her favorite. I put it up there with Need for speed, but not quite as good as Gran Turismo. Def a better game than Rush. and I grew up playing Genesis then Playstation. Didn't get an N64 til like 2012

I bought defender on a whim 10 years ago. I'm gonna have to dig it out and give it a try.

Really love me some Power Quest! The Cyberton games are the best. The action shots you can pull of are so good.

I saw a couple I need to pick up for sure. I actually own about 5 of them if I’m counting correctly. The Transformer game was given to me by a friend and I’ve never popped it in because most of those games are fairly bad. Transformers Devastation is AWESOME though… that’s the best one. Having played them both: Fall of Cybertron 10 times out of 10 over Devestation. I LOVE Devestation, and Fall is a much better game overall.

It's funny. For Beetle Adventure Racing, I accidently rented it. I rented a different game but when we got home, it was Beetle instead. Since it was a bit of a drive to go back to the store, I decided to keep it for the week and man I'm glad I did. The game should not be that fun. And yes for anyone who enjoys stuff like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, check out the Teen Titans game

a game that surprised me a great deal war Crackdown on the 360.... my first impressions were it looked like butt and was always at game stop for like $1.99... had to be crap right? after some time with it... love it.

Annoyingly Teen Titans and Pirates Plundarrr didn't get released in the UK.

LOVE tha Top Spin games! I really wish theyd have made more Champions games. I feel like Sony dropped the ball with the EQ franchise as a whole.
