Some TV companies are mislead about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Using someone like Jim gamble who first thought gerry McCann was hiding something just by meeting him 15 years ago then all of a sudden Jim changed his mind. There's a few things gamble has said which isn't true or based off the evidence from the Portuguese police investigation documents which is available online(pj files). As for hans christian wolters the smirker it's taken another pro McCann police officer/criminal investigation journalist Mark Williams Thomas to go over the German prosecutor evidence and has debunked the lot,He also believes that christian bruekner is innocent and wolters us just full of hot air.

That is also the question I struggle with the most in this case. You are absolutely right - anything could have happened. To choose to be with friends before your kids safety there must be some kind of detachment or distance to your own children. What a risk to take. Someone checking every 15-20 min. - how could they think this was okay. I'm sure the parents have asked themselves the same question a 1000 times. The neglect shown by these parents gives me the creeps.

I’m a father of two and it’s true that you can’t take your eyes off your kids for a second. Compare photos of your parents from before and after they had kids and you will see it in their eyes. Once you become a parent, you are always on guard. It’s why parents seem to age quicker. The stress of never truly having a moment of completely clear thought is one of the biggest sacrifices parents make.

The fact that this needs to be stated is bad in itself. We require people to be licensed to drive, carry weapons, work in certain dangerous industries but no licence at all is required to create or raise offspring. How TF did this situation even occur ? People should not be allowed to reproduce until they can provide evidence of resources to support the children to a suitable standard until the age of 18.

Different countries, different laws. In Europe you don't ever lock in children, elderly or disabled people. In case of a fire they won't be able to get out on their own. It is common and not against any law to leave your children alone and leave the home. It is also quite common to use a baby monitor or to regularly check if everything is still alright.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but the parents should be held accountable for leaving babies, yes babies, alone in a hotel room (with it's own entrances to the outside world) with unlocked doors while they went drinking. They got away with it because they were affluent doctors. If a single mother living in the projects, for example, left her children alone to go drinking at the bar next door, they would throw the book at her and that is FACT. This was child neglect! They are at least partially responsible.

I think you can get up to 10 years for SA/Rape, however most of the time the sentence is drastically lower. Sometimes because of confessions (a confession always have to be beneficial for the suspect to encourage confession), sometimes because victims hardly remember anything, sometimes because the crime was many years ago and other prison sentences are in between. But summarized, many Germans agree the prison sentences for these crimes are way too low and victims are too often left alone with costs (for example life-long trauma therapy or compensation because many victims can never properly work and need early retirement and social security money).

One reason they were so regarded and expensive was due to the on site nannies, they'd look after your kids until 11pm I think. • @zimutes

As someone native to where this unfortunate event took place, I cannot but feel somehow surprised how, after all these years, you can see based on this youtube comment section that it's somewhat common for people to feel surprised about the fact that they felt so comfortable and at ease leaving these children alone in a flat while dinning on vacation (besides everything else we know), in a country where people speak a (beautiful) language that the children wouldn't understand, where everything is to them strange. It sounded incredibly bizarre to portuguese society at the time, but we were in a way led to believe that we as latins were culturally too "careful" and "close" to our children. I would never leave a child alone in a bedroom while on vacation in the UK, in France, in the US, anywhere I'm not a million percent familiar. Imagine if this story had had a better ending, and little Maddie only wandered off through the streets. Children do crazy stuff. How stressfull would that situation be to a little child?! Unfortunately it was the worst possible scenario. With a lot of strange things surrounding it. I sometimes feel that we'll get it right with one or two more netflix documentaries... Cheers from 🇵🇹 - don't leave kids alone anywhere.

@@watchgoose I don't agree. Thus Brűckner character supposedly knows where she is, and he's not revealing anything. Do you think the Germans will take this as proof of his innocence. Any person who knows where she is/was would have to be or be connected to the abductor/murderer. Any admission of knowledge of location would be equivalent to complicity. No one wants that, even for the publicity. There is also the possibility that she doesn't want to go back to her old life, and who can blame her with parents like that. Certainly, she'd be old enough to make that decision for herself and law enforcement would have no choice but to go along with it. Then there's the possibility that she doesn't know who she is. It's no good going on about the eye colorama, because even that may be a fake. No, I don't seriously believe she is alive, but not in the sedated/fell/abducted/trafficked/killed sense. There were NO genuine sightings after the 28th of April! There WAS however a death in the appartment! There WAS forgery to documents in the creche! There WAS inconsistencies in every statement made by the McCanns! And also the T7 group! There WAS no co-operation with the police! There WAS a cleansing of the crime scene! For me, there is only one conclusion! And that is that Madeleine was murdered in the appartment! And I am convinced that Kate McCann murdered her daughter. And that Gerry McCann began the clean up operation. And called in favours to enable the cover up. It is odd don't you agree, that the WANTED POSTERS of Madeleine were printed BEFORE the 3rd of May?

I am Portuguese and this case is still remembered by all of us. I could share so many things about this case… Just read the book that was written by the initial portuguese inspector Gonçalo Amaral. The book is called “The truth of the lie”. About the German guy… When the news were released, my father called me and said he knew him. My father was a cab driver at the time and he picked up the german guy in Lisbon and took him to Algarve. While my father was driving him… he kept asking to pull over at a gas station to buy beer. My father warned him that It was a long drive and if he was trying to scam him or do something… he would take him to the police. (My father also said something about him being in Lisbon for psychiatric consultation). The guy assured my father he had the money to pay for the long ride at his house and he would make the payment as soon as they got there. To make It short, when they arrived at his house in Algarve… the guy wasnt able to enter his home. His house was located inside a property. The landlord came outside (he lived in another house inside the property) and told my father he rented the house to that german man and he vandalized it! By that time, the police was also there. I do not remember if they were called by the landlord or by my father because of lack of payment. The landlord opened the door of the house rented to the german guy and my father said he and the police were shocked because It was complete caos and destruction inside! He clearly had a serious mental ilness! The police felt sorry for my father driving so long and having to go back home again that they followed my dads car to the ATM machine just to make sure he was safe and not scamed. Conclusion, the german guy has clearly psychiatric problems and I also saw now a criminal record… However…I wonder if he would be able to commit a crime in such a carefully and “rational way”. I mean, he would have to be unnoticed in the area by other people, be careful not to leave evidence while entering the appartment, careful not to disturb the twins that were also sleeping inside the same room… So, he was able to do all this without a vandalized window or door? I always felt It was not normal that an adult couple would leave 3 children (Age 3 and 2!) UNATTENDED in an apartment in a FOREIGN COUNTRY! They clearly had money to require nanny services that were provided by the hotel! Finally, I must say that everytime they were interviewed i saw no deep emotion. I never saw desperation in them… I wish deep in my heart that the parents are not involved in this and that maddie could be found. I hope the truth Will come out and not blaming someone just because the crime suits him! We all want closure, but above all… We want justice for Maddie!

Yes the Criminal is the one who is to blame for taking her and hurting or killing her( i have not finished the episode) but the parents are also at fault for leaving them alone. The fact that they did this their entire trip just showed anyone that was watching when they could safely take the little girl. 100% right! It beggars belief those parents prioritised their desire for adult-only evenings with pals, drinking wine and showing off to each other at a tapas bar (they were professional colleagues who met through their medical work), over the safety of their vulnerable children. Frankly the McCanns are lucky they didn't lose all their children that night, and the other adults in the group are also fortunate their child wasn't taken. Every one of them was put in harm's way, every night they abandoned them for the tapas bar - though incredibly, in addition the McCann's had chosen to leave the door to their apartment unlocked, which is probably why Madeleine was targeted. Everything I've seen of Gerry and Kate indicates he dominates, and she is weak and defers to him. I suspect it was Gerry's idea to put all the children to bed, then hang out together at the tapas bar like a group of young, carefree childless couples. Nominating one parent to do a quick patrol of each apartment to check on all the children every 20 minutes or so was wholly inadequate, and clearly left the children vulnerable. Even if one child woke up scared and alone after a nightmare (as poor Madeleine told her parents she had done the night before she disappeared), or was suddenly taken ill with no grown up to turn to, it was not acceptable. I cannot imagine a mother coming up with that lousy, irresponsible 'child-minding' arrangement - and most mums simply would not agree to it. Gerry strikes me as a typically full of himself, Alpha male hospital consultant. We've seen how he dominates his wife, I imagine he dominated the whole group too. I bet he was centre-stage during those tapas evenings, showing off, telling witty stories and generally playing the big-shot heart specialist in front of his fellow medical professionals. If so, the last thing he wanted was small children (his own and other people's), cramping his style and taking the limelight off him. The demands of the under-fives are not compatible with grown-up socialising! Little ones have multiple needs that must be met by their caregiver(s) as priority - bathroom breaks, nappies, food, drink, entertainment and sleep. They whine and cry when they're unhappy. It's hard for a man to be centre stage and a great raconteur with infants around - the toughest audience of all. The group of 9 adults block-booked the same table at the tapas bar every night, that's how important those adults-only evenings were to them. After Madeleine vanished, police considered the possibility an abductor/burglar had seen the group's block booking written in the bar's reservation book, and knew those apartments were unattended every evening. It practically advertised it. I've always puzzled over the fact the group didn't just take all their kids with them, and head out together en masse to any of the local restaurants for supper together as one big family. Portugal and its eateries are family friendly after all, as is the Continent generally. Bistro-owners expect to see small children sleeping on parents' laps, or in buggies alongside them, as the adults relax, chat, eat and enjoy a glass of wine. That is completely normal, the atmosphere and climate are conducive to those relaxed, family gatherings. What's not normal is putting your kids to bed without proper adult supervision, and heading out for a fun evening as though you are a group of young, childless couples on a stag/hen weekend! There's simply no excuse for the McCann party choosing to exclude their children from their dining arrangements each night, in family-friendly Portugal. It's bloody outrageous! And it put their children at unacceptable risk of harm - which tragically transpired for little Madeleine, just 10 days short of her 4th birthday.

When I was seven, my dad left to go to the gas station half a block away. He made sure to lock all the doors, pull the curtains but still to let in enough light, and told me not to answer the phone (landline). I sat in the middle of the living room with my baby sister firmly in my lap. Part of the reason for this was that she was 6 months old and I could keep her occupied with toys. It was also in case anyone did come into the house, I had access to all of the doors to get out. He was gone for about 10 minutes. He immediately checked us over real quick, and we were fine, so he thanked me for caring for my sister and took over on baby care. My parents worked opposing shifts to make sure one parent would always be with us. That is the only time that I can remember us being alone until I was 12/13 and we had cell phones readily available. We also lived 1 block away from the fire department and hospital, and we had neighbors that we could always go to. We learned first aid and memorized so many phone numbers just in case. And why no polygraph test on either of the parents. They are either part of a grooming ring or they wanted that child out of the way.

His history is enough to really look deep into this guy. He's proven that he really likes to mess with little kids, so that, to me, is reason enough to look more into him. And I wonder if the girl up above who commented, leilokas83, I wonder if her father has told of giving this guy a ride that night in his taxi? Like, has he went to the cops with this info or what? I'm sure they'd wanna talk to him, if he in fact, did give the dude a ride that night of the kidnapping. Anyhoo, but you're right - sharks don't eat swim trunks....Lol

They weren't the only ones either - the other parents in their group did the same, and were equally reckless. But they were lucky - their children weren't taken. Madeleine was, and her parents will pay for their poor judgement until the say they die. I have heard Kate and Gerry say they regret that choice, and should not have done it. I think its unfair to say they've shown no remorse. If they could do things differently, they would. But the fact is, they cannot change it. We don't live our lives in reverse, with the benefit of hindsight. I have no doubt they've been very protective with their twins Sean and Amelie, since losing Madeleine. But they can do nothing to protect Madeleine now.

Its typical european "spare the offenders dont care about the victims" law mentality. We need harsher sentences because those sub humans wont stop rape children or women. All they get is a slap on the wrist and the victims suffer for the rest of their lifes. Victims have to fear they will get victimized all over again. after they serve the 1-3 years jail time they have to fear the perp will go after them a 2nd time to get revenge. Some even get a new identity but not the victims of the crime. Every day some new psychopath/rapists are born or created thats enough to deal with but to add all the released ones on top of it they will grow in numbers, sadly. Rapists wont change, lock them up 4ever even after the first rape, you cant rehabilitate a deeply disturbed, deranged man. Maybe they can contain themselves a certain time but it wont last long
