It’s because the fans were over the Nicole solo spotlight. She actually recorded ALL of the songs from this album SOLO... the other dolls went in to record without Nicole and the producers added in their “backing vocals”. It was a Nicole album using pcd brand.

I love melody’s voice, but unfortunately she wasn’t aloud to sing. BUT that’s no Nicole’s fault it was there manager. I think they’ve changed manager now so hopefully all the girls will get to sing a few lines.

Melody was allowed to sing, so was Carmit (who left after the first album and reappeared in the reunion before they split up again). Nicole was hired as the lead singer, Melody was the second voice/background singer and Carmit was there for harmonies. Ashley and Jessica were the only ones hired solely as dancers.

I miss the era of 2000s

Not gonna lie, the Pussycat dolls have the girl power swagger down. It makes me feel confident just watching them.

The music video features the “Whatcha Think About That (Urban/Club Remix)” version instead of the album version that’s why. I always liked this version better.

This is why melody didn’t want to come back, that pre chorus is hers and she didn’t even gave her a camera shot.

I will definitely defend Melody when it comes to the over-emphasis of Nicole. Melody was the only girl in the recording group besides Nicole that had to sing at her audition, so logically she should've been able to sing more since that's what she was placed in the group for.

ikr. the whole time I am wondering if the other girls could sing until I heard Melody , that made me mad. like they put Nicole way too much in the spotlight and the other girls seem more as backup singers and dancers, kind of sad though, but you would think their music company would have common sense to know that back then other groups try that same stunt and it did not work at that time😒 so I'm not surprised I guess that's why America just stopped on groups doing girl groups and stuff it's because some of them just don't know how to work.

All of them look AMAZING in this video - the hair, the makeup, the CLOTHES! But I must say that Melody really stands out to me.. she's just purely amazing.

The Pussycat Dolls have the most underrated music videos.

Ashley's album is really good, Woman Up is very Pussycat Dolls, she could have easily lead the group, her higher belted notes are far less harsh than Nicole's

Nicole: Queen Doll. Even tho she's over empathized in the group she's a beauty. Ash and Kim: Best entertainers in the game. Jessica: Know how to stand out and can keep you in a trans. Melody: Unappreciated vocal Princess. She makes them look like a vocal group. THE SONG: Hidden gem. Shouldve been bigger. Especially a Missy Elliot feature.

Also the reason why Nicole is essentially "the only singer" is because apart from Melody, the rest of the girls were simply burlesque dancers and didn't have any amazing vocal skills. No need to slate Nicole.

Lol actually before Nicole joined the group they still had vocalist, Carmen was their lead vocalist, Carmit and Staci also sung, and Melody was hired as a vocalist, she said during her audition she didn't have to dance all she did was sing and got picked to join the group immediately and Jessica and Ashley also sing aswell before Nicole joined the group and after leaving the group.

Do you know that the none of the pussycat dolls themselves have control over how the video is edited? They are a manufactured pop group run by the owner of the original burlesque pussycats dolls. She made all the decisions and she decided to focus only on Nicole.

I can barely take a good look at the other girls' faces. It's annoying, they're beautiful and interesting and deserve to shine too! It'll make the group 100x more entertaining.
