I don't understand why people keep saying "algorithm." An algorithm is just using a pattern. I don't understand how doing the same repetitive motions solves it. I learned to solve it by getting the cube in its correct color orientation. Once the colors line up, then the correct "algorithm" will twist the cube to its original shape. Aka being solved. The hardest part was understanding how to aline all the corners. Once that's done, it's just a matter of manipulating the center pieces.

The fact that he used a cfop instead of beginner method is insane.
@arkan7495

@Google Admin As far as I know, there are 3 methods to solve a Rubik's cube. The first one is beginner method which has 8 steps and each step has 1 algorithm to use while the first two(or even the third) and the last step has no use of algorithm. When this method is perfected, you can solve cube in 60 to 70 seconds or even less depending on your technique. The second method is CFOP and this has 4 steps. This requires a lot more understanding of the cube for the second step and you also need to remember a lot of algorithms for third and fourth steps. The third and fourth steps have 2 variations each and they differ a lot from each other and have drastic difference in time solving. The solve time can range from 40 seconds if you use the easier variations to merely 15 to 20 seconds using the harder variations. If you really perfect the easier variation, you can solve in 30 seconds easily. Similarly, if you perfect the harder variation you can solve in pretty much 10 seconds. Now I don't have any idea of third method that is Z method because I have never reached that point but I think this is what most of the speedcubers use to solve in less than 10 seconds. I learned all of this from KZread and haven't read any articles. Hope this helped!
This is a great movie I got say it was amazing
The interview schne at last tears of joy in my eyean that is happiness
Slap the Rock! 2022!
I think Will's repeated line of saying that 'he can' symbolizes the overall message of this movie. It feels rather awkward if the director's intent was to portray a natural scene of someone getting informal interview.
Fact is he's actually using the correct method,.... Only Rubik's cube players can understand
If I was that taxi driver I woulda taken that man anywhere he wanted after doing that 😂😂
Imagine the pressure, solving the cube for a job.
the thing that stuck with me the most after watching this movie is that you'll never know how much you're capable of and sometimes you'll never succeed until faillure is not an option

Should have won the Oscar for this...
I love the cab driver being just as into it
People don't understand how insane it is that the guy actually solved it withouth knowing how to, actually solving without memorizing the steps are being taught means your basically a genius.

@@snap-off5383 Dude, someone had to actually be the one to do that though. It's not like the cube came out and there were instantly tutorials and step by step methods on how to solve it. The internet wasn't even a thing at this point.
Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do it, believe in yourself and never give up.
I wish solving a rubiks cube could land me a high paying job today lol
Couple of years ago I watched this movie somewhere I don't even remember and now KZread recommended me this clip and I watched it again and downloaded this movie in my device to watch watch it everytime whenever I'll go through bad days & guess what? I'm gonna do it...this is that type of movie
Thank fuck he didn’t make a harmless joke about his wife
Jay got his cube solved AND hitched a free taxi ride. No chill.

I love how the guy doubted Chris could solve the cube like 10 times.
I love that Will got to do this scene twice in his career.
I love how he’s never seen a Rubik’s cube before and solves it on his first try.

There are previous scenes where Chris is solving it in his living room. That is why he says confidently that he can solve it. Because he previously did.

@@JeAlGoGu300 Ah thanks, that makes it more realistic, I'd already commented "he had to have been studying it prior".
In the third grade, I finished one of these on the first try while on a long time-out. To this day it's the most impressive thing I've ever done imo. Couldn't do it again today. I know there's some patterns you just gotta remember, but I figured those out in my head that day. Probably took 10-15 mins
Great movie :)
Well Done!!
Did this scene get anyone else into cubing?

Is that what they call it? Also no, I don’t dare find out how the strats surrounding that even work, cause I doubt I’d ever understand it

I was scared the Rubik’s cube was gonna fall apart. Happened to me loads of times and it’s so frustrating.

When its cheap plastic, it mostly will break apart. Have ever tried a high quality one? It goes so smoothly its much faster to solve! That cube in the video, is a professional one for sure.
This money had so many cool moments! Peace!
Awesome movie
Rubix cube solves aren’t intelligent...people just memorise the already know patterns to resolve it. But if you ever see someone who doesn’t know those patterns resolve it, that’s a genius.

That what very few people realise
I can do a Rubik's cube. Just sayin'. Took a lot to understand and learn some moves, but then... Once you have the principles down, it's great. Like anything in life. Great thing to include in this movie from that point of view 🙂👍
Best film ever. Will Smith did a good job.
Such a great movie
Great scene, one of my favorite parts. My 9 year old nephew can solve rubik´s cubes easily.

I believe kids are naturally able to do such because I somehow did it long before I went 11. But I had lost that trait shortly after.

@@1.N.Decent True, many kids are naturally inclined to do such, my nephew simply seems to have good logic and memory for he can memorize a song(word by word) after hearing it 2x.
