Well there can be many theories surrounding this story but here's mine: The traveller was enchanted by the scenic view if the forest, so he ventured in deep. She thought she would kill him but looking at his innocent eyes and I'm assuming smile she fell in love with the man. But as the rule of the forest was that every traveler who entered it was meant to die she led him to The Lake of Immortality so that his soul could be there forever.She was actually girl who has been cursed by the forest that her soul would live there forever.So both their souls lived in the Purple forest forever happily.😊😊☺😃 PS.I have formed this theory after reading many other opinions and after watching this video many times.💗

She could akumatized but she didn't kill Adrien. As soon as Adrien stepped into the forest he was dead. The forest is like the Japanese Suicide Forest, she is like a reaper of sorts and takes him to the lake which is heaven. She simply lured him in with her voice to take him to paradise.

So, from what I get here, Marinette was basically a "siren" but in human form. She calls travelers or people who wander through the woods towards her in the Purple Forest through her singing. Adrien, falls in love with her voice and comes towards her, soon "falling asleep" because of the purple mist and you could see Marinette smirking because he fell for the trap. I presume then that in his dream, or maybe in an illusion, Marinette took him to an "Enchanted Lake" or the "paradise" in the Purple Forest asking her to stay with her forever. Adrien, beinh completely enchanted with her, accepted and that's all it took for Marinette to end his life with his body "staying with her forever" in the forest. Maybe the Enchanted Lake was a fluke and because Adrien was in an illusion, in reality, it was actually a place where she would kill her victims. How did he die? Maybe he was drowned? Maybe the Enchanted Lake was cursed to whoever would go through it? Anyway, in the end, we could see Marinette alone again by the tree, waiting for another victim to go inside her forest. And in her lap was Adrien's scarf, meaning he actually died. We could then see that Marinette had a sinister grin on her face, waiting for the cycle to happen again.

I think is actually worse than dying, since she says "we sing with one voice" "if I catch you, you can't escape, for all eternity" and we hear Adrien warning. I think she traps their souls to her in some way, to "keep her company", like stealing "their voice" as in their souls would never rest since they "choose to stay with her" so I think is worse than dying

i feel like Marinette was once cursed by a man she once loved, - but their whole relationship was a trick - for her soul to be trapped in a forest that would later be named The Purple Forest. She could never leave until she killed as many men as the number of times they kissed. If she led them to the forest lake she would then drown them. But then the little prick Adrien had to come along, and of course, they had to fall in love because there was one condition to the forest. If she ever fell in love with someone who entered the forest, she could grant them eternal life with her in the forest, but they could never leave, and she would have to stay. and of COURSE this happened and of COURSE, my plans had to be FOILE- I mean, urm hahhahahah what. did i say my. no I totally didn't shapeshift into a guy and pull all this off. oh. oh crap. you don't believe me. oh shoot. *runs away*

this was just stunning.i love the usage of french,it gives the song a more romantic but melancolic feel to it.also not to mention the art which really goes well wth the overall effect this song was giving.i also enjoy the fact that the illustrations and the lirics leave room for varient interpretations. i personally will take this piece as a metafor meaning that you can be so alloured by an experience or something/someone in your life that you get attached to it so much that you get lost.then you slowly loose sight of reality in the sweetnes of your fantasy world.that is the exact reason why it is almost "impossible" to escape from "the purple forest" with is your dream world and the girl is representing alloure and possibly temptation and curiosity,not knowing were she could lead you.needless to say,i loved this,this is and im proud to say this,a prime example of art in all its glory.these days it is quite difficult for me at least to find art that is not only pleasing,but has a meaning,and had someone put thought into it.it really shows.i want to thank you and congratulate you for creating this piece.i cannot stress enough my gratitude.i know that im not a proffecional and i am still experiencing and discovering this word of art as we speak,but from the bottom of my heart,i can only say that your art touched me.keep going.dont let anytthing or anyone stop you.i support you.

PriusRaj I interpret it as she takes men, like Adrien, into the lake area but keeps them locked in there, but the purple mist is the many lost people, so new travellers trying to find the lost can hear them and get lured to Mari for an endless cycle

i love how Marinette always has pigtails in these videos, but they're different depending on the character she plays.

Some girl in my French class started playing this song in class and they all laughed at her. She likes to be the center of attention, is a pathological liar, and always calls out random stuff that other people would be freaked out by, but I genuinely think this song is nice and it pisses me off that people can be so blinded by their ignorance and hatred for someone else to appreciate something beautiful.

La chica del canal explicó en un comentario, es una analogía a un bosque japonés donde los jovenes van a suicidarse, así que Marinette representa el alma del bosque y Adrien se suicida para quedarse con ella.

That song gave me goosebumps and the drawing is amazing. Am I the only one who thinks that fans' way of picturing their story in so many different ways, is a tons more beautiful and awesome than the original series? Holy crap. This is absolutely gorgeous. The art, the choice of song, the backgrounds, the animation, the pacing. All of it. It's beautiful.

The purple forest is a suicide place in Japan. and Adrian might be there for suicide and Marinette is the cute grim reaper that come for his soul and make sure that his soul be in safe and peace on his last journey.

This is freaking awesome! I love this story line - simple but powerful. And that art is gorgeous! Along with the song! Two thumbs up!

Its just my thoughts so don't mine me please: First on - Once upon a time a traveler was traveling and he came upon a forest which had purple mists and it smelled so sweet that he couldn't resist himself and wander deeper in to find the source of the sweet smell, when he was wandering he suddenly heard a girl singing behind him, he was surprised and put his guard up but then as the girl continued singing the sweet song( magic ) he let his guard down and followed her to the big tree where they both sat and sang, later the traveler slowly found himself closing his eyes and falling into a deep sleep( deeper than any sleep: death ). Then he found himself again following her but this time even deeper into the forest and suddenly a very strong light shone into his eyes, when he opened his eyes he saw a lake as clear as a glass and surrounded by beautiful purple flowers, the girl asked," isn't it beautiful?" "Won't you stay with me?" "Let sing together forever" and the traveler couldn't resist the temptation of her voice( song or anything ), from then on both of their voices could be hear as one, if we listen closely to the forest we WILL hear them singing, the traveler gave up his future( life ) to live with her and so the story of them goes on, and for the little girl she still waits for the day when any of us would step our foot into the forest like the poor traveler and be ready to be captured by her sweet song and lured into the forest to forever be with her... / THE END / Well I think that Mari was a girl who died in the forest and became a ghost and she lure the traveler as they don't know about the story of 'the purple forest' like the local people do, to spent time with them( traveler )and make them be with her forever so she won't be alone again.

I like how the colors on her Miraculous were inverted. A nice touch.

This reminds me of Lulu from a cp story I read. She leads her victims into the forest with her sweet smile and the mist gets thicker and thicker. Her and the boy sit and talk at an abandoned mansion until he suddenly falls asleep from food she gave him. He finds out she’s a killer who takes eyes and manages to get away (or so he thought) and later that night in his room he woke up to see the eyeless girl hovering over him. She kills him and takes his eyes. The end
