The Puppeteer is a magical film about Igor Fokin, an extraordinarily talented artist and street performer. Igor captivates the imagination of both children and adults with a simple tilt of the wrist and flick of a finger. He assembles a menagerie of fanciful wooden characters on a street corner in Harvard Square and delights audiences by breathing life into his creations. A true master of a lost Russian art!

I remember Igor very well from when I first moved to Boston in the 80’s. I saw him multiple times in Harvard Square & was gob-smacked every time. The sweetness that shows through his artistry always made everyone happy & put smiles on their faces, especially children. The Mr Rogers of marionettists. I cried when I looked him up a few years back and found out he had passed. May we all be so blessed as to leave such a beautiful impact on the lives of complete strangers.
Incredible talent, and I am in tears at the tragic loss of such a wonderful man. The speech given at his Benefit was so, so moving. Thank you to whoever has uploaded this magical video for generations to come to enjoy.
some things in life are so magical like Igor's talent at reaching people's hearts. The simplicity of the puppet action was mesmerising. I totally fell in love with all the puppets. And then Igor was gone! To make sense of it is futile. I guess we all have to be thankful for the little time we have on this planet because we never know when our time is up.
Thank you Igor! Thank you for this magic, thank you for celebrating the ephemeral beauty that is life!
Praise the Lord! Wow, what a lesson on how to live life.❤ I loved the way Igor gave everyone smiles of delight by making his marionettes interact with them. How shocking and sad that he died of sudden heart failure. But what a wonderful way the community came out in support of him and his family. May God bless his soul and bless his family with his wonderful memory. I was absolutely blessed to see this video tonight.❤ Thank you! It will be lovely to see Igor in heaven one day.❤🙏❤🙏😊
I’ve been watching quite a few puppeteers, this man was a genius with much talent! I wish his story hadn’t ended as it did, he was a lovely man.
Tears and smiles at the same time came to me as I watched the court jester give so much love to the children.
Hard for me to believe that it has taken me 7 years to see something as amazing as this. He's very talented.
Merveilleux, poignant, poétique, triste et si plein de vie en même temps. Bravo pour votre documentaire. Les marionnettistes paraissent si modestes, si sensibles, si délicats et Igor si lumineux aussi. De très beaux moments, des gestes d’enfants secrets que vous avez su capter. I laughed when I saw his beautiful puppets and the way he handled them, and I cried when I learned that the Magic :Puppeteer Igor Fokin had died suddenly when he was only 36 years old. I am sure he went directly to Heaven because he gave so much happiness to people, particularly to children. Little Angels must be enjoying the presence of this young man who is now performing his lovely acts for them with Sweet Jesus's permission.

I didnt think i would be seeing the end of this puppeteer in the video but it got me a little bit. We see the smiles on his face as he interacts with peple. We see the smiles of those that are entertained by his antics... ... He had a special soul.
