Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I'm aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening and more! Hit subscribe if you would like to keep up with my journey, and hit the notification bell to be alerted when we go LIVE where we have a first viewing of the video as it is published with a live chat so I can answer all your questions! See you in Sean's World.

Hi Sean, one thing that I love about your videos is no annoying music. I enjoy actually hearing the birds tweeting, rocks falling, mixing of mortar and all the natural sounds of real life! Thanks for your nicely made videos.

I agree, I prefer without the music too 👍 except when it’s playing kittens 🐈⬛ 🐈
Don’t change a thing - you’re unique, special, and thoughtful! Both your channels are “spot on”!! (I do love seeing those Sunday dinners your beautiful wife makes too!).

Winter is not really the idea time to be doing outdoor repairs is it! Soon it will be summer as we are heading to Autumn. Always enjoy your pleasant and calm way of handling problems that crop up. Never worth jumping up and down is it. You keep a clear head and that’s important.
I love that you repair things rather than replace everything. I'm learning lots to help me restore my old farm house. Great job Sean
I really like this channel. It is clean, wholesome, gentle, informative, kind, and I think with loving relationships.
I do love the chateau videos, but find myself enjoying& identifying with Sean, a regular guy, using common sense & experience & patience to economically repair his home. Nice wife too

So do we!
Great fix on the roof. So glad you have a safety harness. As older folks we just don’t bounce like we used to.
You say it must be boring watching you, yet here we all are loving every moment 😊 keep doing what you’re doing. 👍🏼

Sean just a little note we love your humour the sounds of masterful work and yes the variety you give!
As a KZreadr you are doing a great job Sean, it’s very interesting watching you renovating your beautiful old buildings & doing the gardening around your property. The kitten are still cute & still growing.😊 Be careful on the ladder & on scaffolding or high areas that need fixing. Stay safe.

It's OK l had a safety harness on 😊
The cats are so bright, intelligent, know they’re loved, we know they are loved just by the body language and eyes
Hi Sean. I enjoyed seeing you on Pethricks channel, but I enjoy you more on your own channel. And I really enjoy Sean's Universe. I'm seeing France through your eyes. Thanks

You have your own identity and do your thing. 😊
Love the sounds of the birds in the background, it really places us there with you in the beautiful French countryside.
For sure keep on with the repairs. I am learning a thing here and there with your videos.
Adorable kittens and great progress!
Sean, I love the fact that you respect "the character" of your property and that you are mindful of HOW you do the things you do. I adore the everyday reality, the repairs, and the love you demonstrate in all you do. And the obvious enjoyment in how you are living your life. Your love of family also comes through, including towards the four footed members!
I just enjoy anything you do at the home whether it’s renovations, walkways, trimming bushes or trees or the kitties. You don’t talk to much which some KZreadrs do and I can’t handle that. Don’t change a thing your perfect! 👍🏻👍🏻
I have really enjoyed watching your channels develop and expand over the past couple of years. You started out with very limited expectations, and over time have become more confident and personable - your ‘presence’ has grown in a very positive manner. Thanks for what you do and hoping to see lots more changes done to your farm, and best yet, to be given such lovely tours of the countryside you and your family have adopted. Vive La France!!! Stay safe and well.
Sean, one of the things I love (in addition to listening to you speak😂) about your reno vlogs, is how you are showing the love and care required to look after those wonderful old buildings. Glad you got that pesky leak fixed! That was quite the balancing act when you were working on the chimney! Glad it all went well.
Hi Sean! I really love your vlogs and think you are doing a fantastic job of creating them. They are always interesting, informative and warm. The kittens and Sam are always a bonus! ❤ 🇨🇦
Doing a great job, Sean, both with the cottage and the video content. I don't mind seeing repetitive tasks because I like watching your progress. Rooting for you from Ohio, US.
It shouldn’t be challenging, we love watching you restoring this beautiful old place. Longer video please! Really don’t change a thing! We all (speaking for everyone) love you, Sam, Tom,Jasmine and Jack. Oh yes! The kittens too!!
Thanks for another great video, Sean! I appreciate your asking for suggestions on how you might improve your videos, however, for me, at this time you are doing an awesome job. In the event I do think of something, I will be happy to share. Thanks for asking! You are the BEST!
Hello Sean don't change a thing. You are a real person which is more rare on KZread than you may think, you're cottage, garden, you're life and family you take me away from my life here through your channels to the beauty of France. Until next time good evening from North Carolina,USA
I always appreciate your tips and tricks for the diy projects. It is always a treat to see Sam and the kitties. You have a lovely family!
I like when you work on the farm Homestead. Garden, sidewalk, chimney, roof, whatever
I am learning so much from your commentary Sean. We live in an old stone cottage, (circa 1650) and having similar problems of water drips in the bad weather. My inglenook is getting badly stained with sooty water marks down the chimney. Im watching you clean out crumbling mortar, and now know how to mix lime render, so I know what to do. Brilliant lesson.....thank you.....and keep on teaching!
Be safe Sean!

Will do
Many of us were initially interested in the process of the ongoing projects in the transformation. Don't need a lot of dialogue or various things to peak interest. Just keep doing what we originally subscribed for. It takes time but we like the transformation process !
Good evening from South Africa
You are doing a great job with your channel! You are such a skilled, hard worker. I always enjoy seeing the kitties. I am also enjoying your other channel. There is so much history in France and so many beautiful places to see!
Your beautiful kitten family is growing up so fast! They are adorable.
That Essex accent is quite charming for those of who haven't lived in England.😊
I am amused by the differences of certain phrases between the Brits and the Americans. For example knocked up in American English means getting someone pregnant. Had a great chuckle this morning. Good job.

Has the same meaning in the UK as well. Some phrases have multiple meanings.
I just love watching you work. Ironically, I find it relaxing. I don't get tired of watching you do the same things over and over (like stone work). The natural sounds have a wonderful ASMR quality. Much better than music! Renovating your buildings and grounds, restoring copper pots, and making things from old wood are all such positive, constructive, peaceful activities in contrast with so much chaos and destruction going on elsewhere. The kitties are icing on the cake. Plus, the landscape and bird sounds of the French countryside are magnifique!
Sean don't be hard on yourself you are one person, I think you are doing great as there's family life as well for you to be involved with, keep doing what you are and we will follow you all the way 😊
Love your channel exactly how it is and appreciate all the hard work you put into it , it’s great seeing the progress on your renovations, the garden , kittens ,and your lovely family . Thank for taking us along with you ❤
Personally I'm watching specifically for the renovation work, so I really enjoy it.
I recommend viewing Sean's Universe visiting the medieval castle/village Beautiful.
BEST TO YOU
Good to see u. Hard working, love the kitties growing so fast😊😊😊
I just enjoy seeing your progress each day.
Be safe Sean. That roof is not the steadiest place to be with or without a harness. Stay well. It is good to see your back is feeling better.
Sean's sound choice in music are the sounds of nature.😊
Sean, you do a marvelous job on your videos. To you it’s the same thing all the time but to us it’s spending time with you. Watching you work shows your skills and adaptations with the challenges of renovating a 200+ year old home. Your accent is just the icing on the cake. Keep doing what you are doing. ❤
Your’s is a varied and entertaining vlog of renovations. Just keep doing what you’re doing Sean. I for one am enjoying the journey!
Sean, don't change a thing. I really enjoy your videos because you give a bit of history of the building as you go. Thank You.
So glad your back has healed and you can do the renovations again without being in pain!

I love the Essex accent, reminds me of home x
I love watching how you approach repairs. Watching from Southern California.
Hercules was also a high wire/ladder/scaffold balancer today...Many hats he wears, yes, indeed, he is fearless and so suçessful..What feats he performs!!! Then, he lets us view his lions, too, as they train in their personal dens, where they rest, play and sharpen their claws in preparation for a coming mouse on string or bouncing ball...Thank you for the show!!!
I love watching all your skills and explanations of how they are done!! It’s a very interesting to watch the achievements. Thank you from Connecticut USA.
Love watching the progress.
Love watching your videos Sean’s , great progress with the cottage. X
You're so right. It's a challenge to keep viewers interested. I think people's attention spans are very short these days. You're doing a great job.
Renovation, kittens, works for me. Glad to see you using a safety harness. Contrary to popular belief, humans don’t bounce. 😊
We just like watching what you do, repetetive doesn't come in to it - it's calming and educational, you are easy on the eyes and ears.
I think what you’re doing Sean,is just perfect.👍🏻
I will comment more often, didn't realize it helps! Great vlog as always. 😻😻😻😻
Sean, you’re doing a great job! I enjoy seeing your sweet family and the kitties!
I like seeing you restore these buildings. I love the kitties, and when the weather improves, I'll enjoy seeing your gardening and how your trees, shrubs and flowers are coming on.
My Gram was from Ripon. She had a strong Yorkshire accent I had a hard time following as a kid... but I knew 'the LOOK'... 😠 the global language of serious business. You didn't mess with her. 😱
Sean you have a very special talent in making your home a warm & wonderful place to live. Home Sweet Home 🫖🍵🍻
It’s always good for me to learn these things, you never know when you’ll need to know something until you don’t know 😂 I recently had a good look at my basement walls. It’s a stone foundation and the render is flaking off and there are a few small holes that need filling, but thanks to you and channels like Chateau Montmagner, I think I can do it 😊

Absolutely!!
Greetings from California, Sean! Enjoy your journey with your family and pets immensely! A trip you took to a Copper Artificer was really enjoyable, perhaps there are other craftspeople particular to your region of France? Whether wood, Masonry, or glass or other artisans-including food and wine, it would add immense value to your journey! Cheers!
Sean don’t add a change to your channel, this is just great, we enjoying your renovations on that cottage, we love watching doing your garden and your explanations…just keep it as it is, you are a legend in restoring old building, saw what you already did by Michael and Billy. Thank you.
You are right Sean, this was more dangerous than being on the roof. But you did a good job there with the lime and the stones. I'm glad you told the people again about the lime and cement. A lot people make the mistake to use cement for everything.
Sean, it was lovely to hear the birds while you were doing your mortar in the barn. I very much like your channel and your accent and I always find I am entertained or learning something new from you. So I think you are doing a great job on your channels. Keep it up. I know it is challenging keeping people entertained. Maybe you and Sam can do a weekly Q &A. Just a brief response to two comments at the end of your vlog. I read most of the comments from your last vlog. In this vlog, you kinda responded to the comments in a very respectful way. I thought you did that well. Well done, sir!
Sean, I love the variety and content in your blogs. You're doing a wonderful job. Never bored. Love to Sam & the little kittens. It 's so enjoyable to watch them play. ❤from Kingston Ontario Canada🇨🇦
Sean, your content is perfect as is, the channel is mixed and interesting and always a pleasure to watch. Thank you.
In a little while, we will be watching you planting and enjoying your property…. Spring is on its way…
I enjoy hearing your accent. My ancestor, Thomas Sanford, was from Hatfield Broad Oak near Bishops Stortford in Essex back in the early 1630s. He settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts and died in Milford, Connecticut. I imagine his speech may have been similar to yours

Sean, I think your videos are wonderful. So don't worry too much about creating interesting content, since you have been doing a great job of that since day one! As an American who happens to love rural France and old stone cottages, Sean's World couldn't be any more perfect.
Sean, you are a Jack of all Trades! I enjoy watching your projects and the kitties are a bonus!
I am enjoying everything you do, Sean. Doesn’t matter if you are fixing the same wall, or gardening. I am here to see you, as you explain what you are doing and why you are doing it. And the kitty cam helps as well! Love ❤️ from Canada 🇨🇦
Remember, people, that watching the adverts helps the channel. But your choice!
Be careful up there, Sean. Love how its coming along.
I love watching the actual work take place, so many channels just show the finished product. By the way, my little Yorkie was sitting on my lap as I watched, she perked up when you switched to the kittens, put her paws right on the desk and watched intently. Is that what is meant by 'something for everybody'?
I have been following your channels for a little while and thoroughly enjoy it. I am 68 and am living in the north of France. I suppose you have noticed how quite a few of us live over here nowadays. A revenge from William the Conqueror I guess... I really enjoy the fact you are saving a bit of history from Normandie, (my grand mother was from that part of France) For my part I'm more on the gardening side. I have over 1000m2 to take care of and that's far more than enough at my age... Thank you for your pleasant humour too. Keep at it and don't give up the good work. Kiss the cats for me, too. I have four of them at home. See you soon here.
Must be so satisfying doing these slightly smaller repairs. A lot of work I know, but seeing an area that was crumbling once again solid and strong… love seeing it as a viewer so must be so much better in person👍🏻👍🏻
I love your cats, I enjoy seeing what you’re doing with your lovely old cottage, and I can understand your Essex accent even though I’m Canadian!
Love watching you save these very old buildings.
You are doing a great job and mixing things up. Keep in the humor 🎉 I enjoy it!
Great job Sean, you have the patience of Jobe working on such a old building. Kathy USA 🇺🇸

I enjoy watching you work at your charming home. Inside and out! And I love kitties! Keep posting content as you do. You have a niche!
Nothing wrong with an Essex Accent Sean. This is coming from an ex Romford Boy 😂. Another great video

Great progress Sean, such enjoyable viewing.
My husband and I love both your channels. We’ve learned a lot watching you, a master craftsman and tour guide! Thank you for sharing your life with us 💜
The cottage is looking great!! ❤
I think they are well worth rescuing also. Great job.
I always enjoy seeing what you’re up to and your Essex accent is part of your charm, no problem understanding what you say here.😊
I like your videos as they are. Your explanation of how & why you do what you do, kittens & garden. Good stuff 😀
The kittens are beautiful 💕. I completely enjoy your channels. A nice variety kreeps it interesting. What else is interesting is the twists and turns in renovating the cottage. It started out as a straight forward idea and has slowly taken us on a circuitous journey.
I had to laugh when you said these old buildings were worth restoring ! I couldn’t agree more ! The reason I laughed is because I live in Nebraska in the United States And 20 years ago I bought a house I also wanted something with “character” I’ve been developing that character for all these years !! Now my house is definitely not as beautiful as your cottage But I firmly believe that it’s better to restore the old Than it is to build something new Older houses, including cottages, were built more on an individual basis - - and that’s where all the character comes from. Somebody put not only their hard work in, but love ! Keep up your hard work ! I love watching you !
Getting there Sean ,. The kittens are growing quickly . Loved watching as always😘
Hi San and Sam I love your channel, whether it is renovation or gardening, I always look forward to the next video, don’t change a thing, xxxxx
I thought for sure that the stones were going to fall out the back side . You did a great job balancing to get the job done. Great job in my opinion.
Oh my goodness please be careful in that corner! It’s not easy access for sure. You named your channel well I think. Sean’s World is about your life and I enjoy seeing what your world is like.
