WHY DO I CALL MY FANS GREG?
Greg is the strongest family on the internet, we're the fastest growing channel on KZread, and we make fire content. So, instead of making up some pun using my name and calling my fans that, I decided to use a different name entirely. A name so strong, haters tremble when it is spoken. WE ARE GREG. AND WE ARE TAKING OVER THE INTERNET. And all you have to do to join is hit subscribe and turn on notifications.

That's really screwed up if they added in that rule about not being able to sell it for a year. I actually knew a friend growing up who won a car while not having lots of savings or a large income. He was upset when he realized he couldn't keep the car, but he ended up with a car in the end. The prize was a pretty expensive car. He took out a $5k loan from his bank. Paid the taxes, received the car, sold the car, and paid off the loan. He then bought himself a new Mustang for about $16k and kept the rest of the money as savings.

Hell yeah. To add to the appreciation of authenticity/honesty/being-an-actual-person in this whole thought process here and presumably life, I will say too, another shitty outcome was simultaneously also avoided because Teslas are (sadly) pretty garbage, unsurprising considering it is of course overseen by a dude who cosplays as a genius despite knowing close to nothing about anything (engineering-wise at least, which he claims is his forte) and who in the dichotomy you presented chooses exploitation over compensation every time. I mean really, that's the "one secret trick billionaires hate" to being grotesquely wealthy: authentically abandon all empathy/consideration of others. Often times this isn't their "fault" per se (capitalism absolutely overdetermines this of course by inherently materially rewarding such a disregard of values that may supercede the hedonic usury/profit-seeking demanded to simply survive, compounding the probability or normalization of people accepting/justifying this hollow "rational" perceived self-interest over time), but the refusal to reconcile the transparently causal and extremely adverse outcomes with their own complicity in perpetuating such a system, instead doubling down on a justification of their "merit" or "virtue" as self-anointed philosopher kings, is...well, pretty shitty for lack of better words. Though hey, it's not like I'm doing much of anything about it either so it's not like I'm any better. _Anyway_ idk, personally, the only hope I have for the future is noting the fact that surely the majority of people can intuit that being a huge callous piece of shit can open up "business opportunities", but yet _in spite_ of it being systemically incentivized and often times demanded, they _still_ instead often choose to hold onto their humanity rather than sell it off for potentially all the profit, much like Danny here. And yeah, sorry for the screed, was initially just going to make a stupid joke and somehow ended up with this depressing shit lol womp oops...

Aka It’ll work in a situation where the person can go to school full time and also work full time to still make rent etc. In a lot of career fields it’s really difficult to do well in school while at the same time holding down a job. My wife is radiology school. Luckily for us we’re veterans so we qualify for the GI Bill. They cover the tuition and also give her a monthly check that is suppose to cover housing and food if you’re smart about it. That way the student can literally fully focus on school. The program is a very high fail rate and literally all the failures so far were people who also had a job. Lol Again I think the deed is great, it’s just shortsighted imo.

@@theravenlordmasterofthevib8991 I think it’s shortsighted bc what is the goal? To get people to finish school, earn a degree that hopefully gets them a high paying job. Effectively changing their family’s future. If that’s the goal then wouldn’t it be shortsighted bc a large percentage of people can’t even accept this blessing. It really only works if you’re already going to school and working and getting by. In that case it gets rid of that big dark cloud of debt. Again let’s say if you work full time to pay your bills. Even if someone pays your tuition you still need to work full time to pay the bills. Realistically alot of fields it’s almost impossible to work full time and go to school full time. This example is alot like the free car thing. Sounds great in theory but when put into practice it only works for someone that’s already doing good.

Instead of paying the Tuition for 8 I would pick 5 people and opt to pay for their tuition and also set a stipend aside while in school. Literally all they have to worry about is doing their best in school, this pushes people towards success The GI bill basically has it figured out. They created the program to combat homeless vets, aka their goal is to get as many successful vets as possible. For us you get 3 years of schooling paid and they give you that monthly check. It’s calculated by the cost of living in that area you attend school. When I did it in California it was $2,600 a month, that’s really high bc it’s Cali. Somewhere like Louisiana it’s like $1,600. If you get a roommate, you can definitely live off of $1,600 a month. Lol Again I think any donation is great, I just think sometimes organizations are more concerned how a donation will look instead of how successful it will be. It’s hilarious those car dealerships wouldn’t just gift a winner a cheaper car, it wouldn’t cost them more. The difference is it’s sounds a lot cooler to say you gifted someone a Tesla rather than a toyota.

If you win a car you don't want or can afford to maintain, you still have the Option to sell it. You won't get the price of the car, but you will still get a nice amount of money. I once entered a raffle at a car dealership to win a car. This car dealership was careful to avoid issues like these, so instead of giving the car away, the winner would have to actually purchase the car for $1 if they won. And to make the tax thing as doable as possible, they made sure the actual value didn't exceed a poor persons situation. All together, the winner paid about $75 to win the vehicle and they were given time to pay. Also, the raffle tickets were exchanged for non perishable foods. Instead of cash.

Huh? That's potential tax fraud... When you pay sales tax on a vehicle, it's generally supposed to be close to fair market value in purchase price. People do regularly put that they actually paid a number like 1$. Many states deal with that problem by charging directly on fair market value rather than purchase price.

11:35 Unfortunately, this is how many companies operate. It's just like how fastfood restaurants promote their 'value meals', or any promotional meals in the front of their counter in a big picture with big font saying 'SAVE $3!!!' and put the individual prices of the food on the very corner of the store counter in small fonts. They would also do this on their posters saying 'Chicken Meal for only $1!!!' but when you buy it, it's actually $3 because the $1 menu doesn't include a drink and a small fries unlike the $3 and the saleslady will absolutely give you the 'value meal'.
