As an astrologer I do not use the Walter Pullen Delineation for several reasons. A big one is that ignores ANGLES in the chart. I'm going to use a personal example to illustrate: I have Pluto exactly conjunct IC and Jupiter conjunct MC not to mention that Pluto aspects everything in my chart except for the Sun. I know and everyone close to me knows my life has been Plutonian on a private level and Jupiterian on a public level. Angles are the foundation of a chart, without them we don't have hemispheres, quadrants, houses. So how can a method ignore angles and still being taken seriously?! Any astrologer knows the criteria for planetary dominance. Use them, apply them specifically to each individual chart. Computers do not replace the individual interpretation of a true astrologer.

this idea of dominant planet never made sense to me, like, okay, this is your dominant planet, now what? what does this even mean? everywhere I searched for informations on what exactly was a dominant planet and its influence on your life it was always those general nonsense explanations that by the end meant literally nothing

Thank you for posting this video. I came to this video after using the tool on Astrodienst to find my "dominant planet". I mainly wanted to confirm what I thought of as my dominant (Pluto), but to also in a way disprove what I had been told previously (Saturn). I became interested in this because I figured that it could help me to figure this out a little bit easier. It would give me something to narrow in on rather than spending so much time on other areas that likely aren't important (like aspects between 2 outer planets). According to this, Venus is dominant for me. I'm not Venusian, so this definitely didn't work for me. So I would have to agree with you. You talked about the ascendant ruler. Gemini ascendant with Mercury/7th. My Mercury is difficult to understand. It sits in between Uranus and Neptune. Uranus says "think outside of the box" and Neptune says "what box?"

I'm in the same situation as you I thought pluto my dominant so I thought I'm plutonian I have strong aspects like Sun conjunct pluto with Scorpio in it and scorpio decan 1 which they increases pluto energy alot I have pluto in 7th house and moon opposition pluto and alot of Pluto in minor aspects and 2 in the main aspects. Astro .com tells me I'm mercury dominant and Gemini dominant. I have gemini as my ascendant which adds alot. But I resonate more as plutonian personality and vibes then a mercurian so I'm just so confused. 😴

How is Diana's Saturn angular when we typically see of Medieval or Renaissance authors emphasizing the 5 degree rule? Saturn is in the 2nd house, a house in aversion to the ascendant, while the Venus is in house 5 which makes a trine to the Asc. A stronger house.

does this same logic also apply for Allen Edwall's method of calculating planetary dominants using astrodynes?

I see in the comments, someone mentioned "Vedic Shadbala". I stumbled on a very popular Vedic astrologer youtuber and was intrigued by the specificity of the insights and accuracy as I tried to apply the system. That said, i may have misunderstood, but the astrologer gave the most weight to the planet with the highest degree #, and then there was a play with nearby planets....I think it was the planet associated with life path. i wish i could recall the name but v10 comes to mind......that said, I wished i knew, as mine is Mars, near 12 oclock, (where Sun (ruler of 1st) & MC are ) in 10th house conjunct algol and 1.6 degrees away from Mercury whose conjunct black moon ....i don't know what it means, but seems luminous or dark?!?! i forgot to add, m&m trine jupiter in 1st, but oppose Neptune in 4th....someday ill have to pay & make a proper inquiry into this....

The most issue I have with it is including generational planets (they don't have rulership) and not including sect of the chart

Can you touch on the soul planet calculations as well?? Astro seek told me my soul planet is Mercury . I personally feel like my sun sign is overshadowed by my moon and Uranus. I have a Gemini sun, Gemini Venus, Aquarius moon, Aquarius rising and Uranus in Aquarius. My moon and Uranus are in my first house so that makes Aquarius hyperpresent in my personality . I don’t necessarily feel the affects of Uranus (Uranus’s rebellious nature I tend to lean more towards saturns traditionalism) as strongly and I’m not sure why. It’s present in my physical presentation and I do get the occasional “lightning strikes” of genius that cause my to make dramatic life changes. I also have Venus energy having my Mars and murcury in Taurus. So if I had to guess , my dominant planets would be Uranus, Moon, Venus, and Mercury in that order. I have the moon in my first house and I’m a Lifepath 11/2 which would add a little bit of sun and moon energy. Sorry Im talking so much idk maybe this will help someone analyze theirs? 😂

When I see Aquarius ascendant or Uranus in the first house, I think of someone who would put a lot of emphasis throughout their life on being original. The first thing that comes to mind is tattoos, piercings, funky shoes, etc. But it could be something as subtle as a woman that refuses to shave her legs, OR someone that refuses to "act professional" if it meant not being able to be who they wanted to be. A Uranus in the 1st house person could be the one who sends work emails as if they were texting. My sister has Uranus in the 1st house. In high school, my sister was a part of every single stereotypical clique. She first was a cheerleader, then she became an athlete (soft ball). Sophomore year she came back as goth. She later started hanging out with the wrong crowd and got into drugs. My sister not only changed her look, she changed the way she wanted the world to perceive her as well. Some may classify this as a Plutonian thing, but that's not it to me. It was a series of sudden, drastic changes in "character". It wasn't forced change like Pluto. She had strokes of insight that gave her an urge to try something new. Like "I will no longer be Jane, from now on I shall be called Mary"....lol.....You really never know what you are going to get with Uranus in the 1st house.

You should look into your most significant midpoints and declinations (up to a degree and a half, depending on the planets involved).

I would also want to see where Neptune was transiting at the time because if it was transiting her first house , that would explain being a little bit more impressionable at that time. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure all of they uniqueness and experimentation was a genuine passion of hers ! The reason I say this is I have a significantly large 1st house, it’s about 49 degrees, so I had Neptune transiting my first house for most of my life . I’m 25 and it’s just on the cusp of my 2nd house. I definitely experienced this sort of fluidity in my self expression. I’m just curious of the other energies that we’re playing in her chart as well. @@makingwaffles I've used a number of different house systems throughout my practice (Placidus, Equal, Whole Sign, Regiomontanus) but I've always used the tropical zodiac.

what if i don't know the exact time of birth. would that give me an accurate reading on how the planets are placed in my birth chart?

No, not exactly. I'd recommend asking a family member who might remember or looking to official birth records where the time might be recorded! You might be able to get a new long form birth certificate from your a health department that might indicate the birth time even if existing short form birth certificates do not

Look at both and use them to understand intercepted houses. You'll know what the takeaways are from that. Ascendant cusps are interesting, and intercepted houses don't get enough attention.

It confused me it says I’m Aquarius dominate, I only have Neptune and Uranus in Aquarius I just don’t know how I jumped from Libra moon and rising and Virgo sun to Aquarius 😂

I'm Scorpio sun with Sagita moon rising and Aquarius is my dominant.. Aquarius in neptune and uranus.. just sun in 11 house but close to 12 house mean cusp
