The Practice of Conscious Business Relationships | The Conscious Business Challenge (Week 2)

In this week’s challenge, you’re invited to see how you can bring greater Presence into your personal interactions (at work or home).
As Eckhart Tolle often teaches, all of our relationships can be an excellent training ground for spiritual practice. This is particularly so when it comes to business transactions, where there’s a greater tendency to see the relationship as a means to an end and become overly identified with the roles we take.
In this week’s challenge video, Eckhart answers a question about business exchanges and how to avoid taking advantage of one another. He reminds us that what is primary in all relationships is to bring our full Presence into the engagement, and to keep some of our attention on the underlying consciousness beneath whatever formal roles we and the other party may be playing.
WEEK 2 PRACTICES
This week, we challenge you to keep in mind that “your entire life can become your spiritual practice,” if you approach your relationships both professional and personal in this manner. Here are some suggestions you can focus on:
1. Practice empathy. Eckhart recommends we “feel our way into the other person,” that is, to sense the animating consciousness within the other person and yourself.
2. Look deeper than your roles. It’s easy to get preoccupied with the outer form or physical appearances, as well as with the psychological form or personalities. By remaining alert and still, Eckhart teaches, we access the transcendent dimension while playing our part and avoid turning things into a strictly transactional meeting.
3. Remember karma yoga. Relationships, especially business exchanges, can quickly become stressful or in other ways negative if we become too attached to a desired outcome. Citing the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, Eckhart helps us circumvent this trap by “letting the fruit look after itself” and making Presence our primary purpose.
Whether you’re simply grocery shopping or negotiating the purchase or sale of a home, ultimate success in business depends on the same thing: balancing whatever you’re doing on the surface with an awareness of your shared Being with every human being you encounter. Enjoy our challenge this week, and join us on the community tab this Sunday for this week’s reflection prompts!

I have not been employed for the last 5 years. I have attended many interviews but haven't been successful till now. Many HR folks call me for even three rounds of interviews, only to just disappear. My calls and emails to get an update don't elicit a response. I believe there is a word for it: "ghosting". If I were the HR, I would discuss the candidate's strengths and weaknesses and would tell him/her why we had to choose a different candidate. I may even suggest other companies recruiting where the candidate can try his/her luck. Looking back, it is quite possible I wasn't 'Present' enough. I will try to be 'present' in my interviews, not with the aim of landing a job, but because that is the natural state to be in. Thank you, Eckhart, for your teachings. 🙏🙏

So believe in yourself and your product and with complete honesty you develop friends and success in managing life. Or if you come out of your “four walls” and show/present yourself you develop a life worth sharing. When you cannot choose your family ….spotted with sociopathic nature….beware of the naivety’s of your four walls….that’s growth. Believing in your own soul is powerful. This video is an incredible presentation…..👍⭐️🙏

"Letting the fruit take care of itself". "Being passionately passionless". These are the words that one day came to me and I use them often with students who want to learn various skills with me. Especially when they get stuck. I feel recognised and so connected. Thank you so much Eckart, for sharing these insights. ♡

Thank you dear sweet Eckhart ❤The ultimate goal is no thought, that's where presents is. Where the observer, your soul is. It's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life and took me weeks of "training" before just alittle "shift" of starting to be in control of the mind with longer and longer periods out of thoughts. I'm not going to kid you, it takes a while and oddly, learning to have relaxed focus is difficult, kind of like a tug of war. We have been conditioned so much since childhood to focus primarily on the outcome especially through schools. We were taught to study only to get good grades and eventually become "successful ". Learning is fun if getting good grades were not the only purpose of it. A lot of unconditioning is required 😅

Nicely said! .............. REmember ..... Eckhart doesn't teach us, he simply reminds us of what we already know.. To remember, to re enter the membership. To REmember!!! Thank you dear sweet Eckhart ❤ My mind was racing... Racing .. I could only hold presents for a moment .. How long can the dark mind stay with the light .. 5 seconds .. Yes ... 10 seconds, it's better, 20 seconds, barely. Just holding presents for 30 seconds was too much light for that dark room of thought! Can I focus to obtain consciousness and hold it for 30 seconds? As much as my mind says NO ..... I can! Namaste

I Thank you Jesus, that even in times of need, despair, and brokenness, you are there for me. Please, put your arms around me and my children. I trust you Heavenly Father no matter what. Like many other single parents things are tough on me. Both of my sons are special needs. I’m constantly struggling to provide for them and now that I’m home schooling them my hours to work are limited. I’m overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. My faith in you is strong! Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children. I’m keeping faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s can do. That’s why love compassion and prayers are all we truly need. Please keep me and my boys in your prayers. Prayers are all I NEED!

Is it....safe...to go throughout life without seeing people's motivations? Or is the point that it doesn't matter? We go with what is good for our wellbeing, aligned with our higher selves, without ever planning on being able to rely on other people? I understand that intention doesn't override effects; a person's behaviors and actions are how we determine whether or not we can interact with them. If we don't know whether or not they intend on continuing to behave in a way that is aligned with our wellbeing, how do we navigate interpersonal relationships? I suppose after so many incidents that undermine our wellbeing, we would benefit from letting the person go. I can't imagine not trying to figure out intent, but I guess that's me trying to get the person to work with me, trying to create a mutually beneficial situation.

The difference is, one person is living there life in the real actual world; other person is in a role, being paid, employed in their job, so not their true self, they are under their puppet master’s instruction, power, control… then at te end of their working day, that role ends, and that employee steps back into their own reality where they can please themselves… in a role play you are already being ‘disingenuous’ as you are acting. You have a quota to meet. You cannot be human, you are a seller. If you meet in shared consciousness, your boss will sack you … the person in the real world dont have a role, s a buyer they have no puppetr master, they can please themselves. All selling is dishonesty, look at Jesus’ reaction to the merchants in the house of his father, he was disgusted … it is a kind of prostitution of the self… sorry i have not understood you Eckhart… the buyer beware …?
