Why did Casey want a new master if he was already satisfied with RJ? Because it's important to take wisdom from many places, else it becomes rigid and stale.

The wolf ranger has muay thai ropes on his forearms which is why he never used weapons because in muay thai, the eight limbs are your weapons. This is depicted better in his fighting style since he mostly uses low kicks, high knees and elbows. His zord is also a blade on the shin which I think is another beautiful homage to muay thai.

RJ next to Tommy for me is my favorite Ranger mentor. The guy is so chill and one with the universe but when he needs to fight he breaks out a wolf powered version of Muay Thai it's amazing!

Usually mentor characters in fiction are people past their prime, only on the team for a short active time, joins the fray late in a series' run or ends up KIA when they d but not RJ. He's the fourth member of the team, joins the team at Episode 16 out of 32, has more episodes as a Purple Ranger than Dom has as a White Ranger and doesn’t die at any point.

When this episode debuted I remember screaming loudly “I’m that ranger” my little brother who was sitting next to me then proceeded to bite my shoulder as hard as he could before saying “No, i am”. It hurt a lot. I’m still RJ though.

Rj is very unique. The Disney era really took time on hiring people with have chemistry with eachother.

All of the weapon master episodes are just peak Power Rangers. Blind leading the Blind is my favorite, but Casey's weapon master episode ending up being RJ focused makes it a close number 2. Theo was just too clean with those fans and Master Swoop's lesson was just too good.

RJ was so Michaelangelo-coded in the beginning with the orange accented cloths and the pizza place and then he becomes the purple ranger? lmao not to mention the way he talks like a surfer bro

I love how a lot of the Disney era seasons gave the mentor / support characters rangers forms. Like letting RJ, Cam, Tommy, and Kruger morph is just sick.

For Me, RJ is One of The Best Mentors and One of The Best Rangers

I remember when the Wolf Ranger for Jungle Fury was announced, there was a lot of fake or test footage of Johnny Young Bosch as the Wolf Ranger but just seeing this with RJ being the Ranger was truly amazing.

Beautiful video dawg, Jungle Fury is a prime example of Ranger series that excel passed Mighty Morphin imo. It's one of many I always recommend. RJ is my all time favorite from the series before morph & ESPECIALLY AFTER morph! It was SOOOO satisfying back then

What i ADORE about mentor characters is when they themselves needs to grow aswell which is interesting to see them give wisdom while also said wisdom isn't necessarily the best & obsolete to give somebody that's one of the reasons that makes me like rj this much. He's laid back & chill but also a force to be wrecking with. He also grows & and learns alongside his students. He's also very casual & and young, which is a clever subversion of expectations.. if only the intro didn't spoil everything for us!

While GekiViolet was a nothing character with a great suit, RJ is a goated mentor with a great suit

He is one of my favorite characters across the entire Power Rangers franchise. For the sole purpose that wolves are my favorite animal and growing up I wanted to run a pizza store while living on the floor above it. Dude is living my childhood dream.

This was so wild for me back then. I got some Jungle Fury action figures back when the show was first premiering. On the back of the box, it showed the original trio and the Spirit Rangers, so I figured that was going to be the team for this season. It was weeks later that my little sister came back from a trip to the store and told me she saw a toy for a Purple Ranger, and that blew my freaking mind. Got me so hyped for when RJ would morph, and it did not disappoint.

One of the coolest suit in the entire Power Rangers series... Even the White Dino Ranger is no near him..

watched this show as a kid, like many other Power ranger shows at the time. I remember liking any ranger color that was outside the norm of red, yellow, pink, blue, and black. So when the other masters and RJ had their own ranger colors/powers I was always hyped to see it.

Rj is absolutely incredible I love how they write him I never realized the parrelel between that scene in sonic force's and Rj in jail but unlike sonic forces. The joviel nature of Rj doesn't break and destroy his jail scenes nor try making attemps at unfunny cringe comedy its just Rj trying to make the best of a bad situation and the episode one master too many serves as an excellent Rj and casey focus episode. Something I appreciate with this season is that RJ joins much later in the series as opposed to later it might not seem like much but this is the longest a season pr has gone with just 3 rangers and I feel like thats really great cause it really helps us get the time to appreciate the main 3 rangers Rj's inclusion feels so seemless because he's played a role in mentoring the 3 in prior episodes plus also getting time to know him as a character its masterful.

It was so cool seeing him single handedly summon 3 animal spirits and make a megazord om his own I've seen words that transform and make a megazord on their own like the Rhino but this is different

RJ was amazing. I'd put him up there with the best mentors of the series.

One of the reasons I liked RJ so much was the fact that he was the first purple ranger, and that's my favorite color.

Rj is one of my favorite rangers. I need to rewatch ninja storm forward, but jungle fury is one i know i loved watching

Tommy is everywhere in many forms and appearances RJ is proof of that

I love the fact he clearly uses Muay Thai, and the way you can truly see martial arts expressed in this season. If you’re into combat, this is the season for you.

say what you want but PR prolly got the most vast lore in all of shows, and its the greatest piece of fiction ever written

This was hands down one of the best PR seasons

We love RJ for a very good reason. Actually many many reasons. I’m so glad they decided to go for more chill and part of the team mentors for this and it just worked so well. And of course, his wolf morph was so solid and so fire.

My favorite Ranger! He’s funny, a great mentor, my favorite color, cooks (PIZZA), and (along with Jungle Fury as a whole) severely underrated. Hoping Playmates makes new figures (and role play toys) of the team when their run starts up (along with Next Mutation and In Space two packs).

I’m so glad that the official power rangers channel uploaded full episodes, my childhood with jungle fury ended quite terribly because I never got to full access all of its episodes not to mention the Tagalog dub was meh.

when I was a kid, everything look so awesome and cool and awesome, but now knowing what CGI, hate & critics are, man still brings back awesome childhood memories

I had nigtmares for my first time seeing When RJ became that were wolf monster. Not only was it genuinely scary looking, how realistic it was but also it never held back until its final moments. It was a force to be reckon with and never taken lightly

And the suit is so beautiful too, a welcome contrast to the monotone theme of the 3 core rangers

I have watched power rangers since 1993 every mentor has been very special and unique yes some have joined the teams I truly believe Fran maybe related to the Morphin masters she just played like she didn't know who the rangers are but always knew how to help them I also find it awsome she was the one to help RJ find his balance when the rangers tried but failed my favorite color is purple so seeing RJ morph was pretty special I never thought it would happen in power rangers just like in cosmic fury with our first ever orange ranger

RJ was peak.

This reminds me of the time in Power Rangers Wild Force when Merrick became the lunar Wolf ranger. Both RJ and Merrick were possessed by the wolf spirit and became rangers. Side note: Power Rangers Jungle Fury was the last power rangers series I watched as a teenager. I haven't watched any of the ones after Jungle Fury. Quite sad I miss that feeling every time I see clips of Power Rangers!

His story is almost like a cool analogy of shadow integration

I find it interesting how the core three get their master mode before the other two rangers show up, which makes their debuts feel very late-but I believe Time Fire is still the latest ranger debut excluding cases like the successors of the Kyoryuger Spirit Ranger (Cyan and Graphite in Dino Charge, but those suits debuted in the first half of the show so they technically weren't brand new, just new users), one-offs like Ryusoul Brown and Deka Bright/Nova, or post-series content

0:49 I always found this issue a little one sided and personal. To Casey, it's not a matter of being tired of RJ but look at Theo & Lily. They have other masters. But they came in when they needed it because of the monster of the week. And Casey, he's still ranked lower than Theo & Lily & wanted to catch up.

I loved the original sentai Gekiranger but this is one of the areas where PR did it better. Sentai GekiViolet was cool but literally just some rando that waltz in to be an extra ranger and happened to have a wolf costume motif. Do like the cheesy bell and Muay Thai fighting ring though.

For some reason my head cannon makes me think that rj is related to the ranger in wild force the one ho was once a bad guy

End Game is revisiting the Power Ranger's series at 31 and realizing what a goddamn good time it was. There was so much more to it that the super cheesy low budget Japanese "Kaiju" shows it was modeled after. Now we can appreciate a lot of the features and production that went into it, rather than see it as "The cheesy kids show our parents tolerate"

Two things, one in the Japanese counterpart Gekiranger, the Wolf Ranger is actually the Blue Ranger older brother and when i was much younger, I remember a youtube clip, that showed Adam Park turning into the Wolf Ranger, which I thought was real at the time.

i interpreted it as Dai Shi tries to take RJ's wolf spirit

i have never seen any PR beside Magic force and SPD tbh so this was an interesting watch growing up i was mostly watching the original super sentai version and thing are quite different so i was rather clueless about PR as a whole for quite a long time

I just wish the wolf zord didnt replace a leg in the megazord. And became a weapon or a new appendage.

I like both jungle fury and geki ranger. Jungle fury pulls everything from geki ranger but makes it it's own. There are some slight differences but both are good series
