As a fan it would have been fun to have had Bob voice Barney again but at the same time this was a wonderful opportunity for me that as a lifelong Barney fan I couldn't pass up. Bob has been incredibly supportive of my voicing Barney and that means the world to me. I appreciate the kind words about me. I did my best to capture the spirit of Barney that I grew up with as that is what I was hired to do. I hope people can see past the disappointment and at least appreciate that I was trying to stay as faithful as possible to the character we all love so much. To me Barney isn't a single voice actor as their have been a handful that have portrayed him before me, to me Barney is real and is the same regardless of who is voicing him. Although I always say Bob West is Barney to me because it's who I grew up with, at the same time there is whole generation out there that grew up after Bob's departure and to them Dean Wendt is the definitive Barney voice. It's all a matter of what Era of Barney you grew up with. Personally I'm happy to be a small part of the history of voicing Barney.

I agree with this all..Mattel really missed an opportunity with not casting Bob. While the general public probably couldn’t tell the difference between voices, fans could and I think the majority of us were disappointed. Hearing Bob officially voice Barney for the first time in over 20 years would have really pulled heart strings and evoke the emotions that I think they were going for in the video.

I definitely see where you’re coming from Hedge. When I first saw the video, I was surprised and in shock because it was very unexpected to see Barney actually talking. When I first heard it, I knew it wasn’t Bob West but I thought it was still pretty good. But after watching the video, that’s when it started to hit me that if Bob had came back for the video, I personally feel like it would have a much bigger impact like Steve’s video. At the same time in my opinion, it was kind of weird to hear a version of Bob West’s Barney coming from that costume since that costume is so integrated with the HIT era in which Dean performed him. But definitely no hate to Korey at all. He definitely was still the best person for the job and can’t wait to see more of what they do with him and Barney.

I agree wholeheartedly. Korey Durham did a fine job imitating the character - there are probably a lot of people who thought they _were_ listening to the original voice - but as a dedicated Barney superfan, that video would have meant a lot more if it had featured one of the established VAs. I would feel better about this situation if I knew Bob West (and Dean Wendt, who voiced Barney longer than anyone else) got the opportunity and declined.

Bob will always be *my* Barney. The fact that the voice sounded so natural. I always liked the fact that Barney didn't sound like a cartoon character but like a person you'd see down the street. It heightens the bond because if he sounded real then he felt real Tim Dever in my mind was the perfect replacement for Bob. He not only understood that aspect of Barney but learned how to make it comfortable for himself to pull off. Every other voice to me feels like a character which is fine and is totally up to personal tastes. But without that personal "real" connection it just doesn't sound real to me Barney and Bob are like yin and yang. They work best together

I grew up loving Barney well into my early 20's. I did enjoy bobs voice without knowing voice acting growing up. I do love how Korey's protieal fitted right into the barney world as well. Thanks for voicing barney for the special video Korey Dunham for the special occasion video. I thought you did it really well and couldn't hardly tell the difference. i thought you also did really well on the voice of barney. hopefully PBS decides to revive barney again for this generation and would be delighted if they casted ya koreydunham as the voice if that happens for this generation. You did it really well. kindof made me teared up a bit in a good way hearing barneys voice again after so many years.

This guy does a good job of voice and Barney but I say bring back Bob! Bring back Bob! It ain’t Barney unless it’s Bob! My goal one day is to be able to meet Bob and actually talk to him

Bob West is one of my favorite voice actors of all time. IMO, Korey Durham is great at continuing Bob's version of Barney, and I sincerely hope he is able to do more voice work for classic Barney stuff if possible. However, I do agree with your point, how Bob West could've been grabbed for this video, and frankly, would make me smile. It sucks West chose to step down from voice acting years ago, I don't think any of his replacements from Chuck E. Cheese and Barney could ever do just as an amazing job as he did. Dean's take on Barney I find very embarrassing (despite him pretty much having the same spirit), which make's Durham's more refreshing for me. All and all, nobody could ever truly replace the legend, Bob West.

I can't be mad at Dean's voice for Barney because he was doing his job, but even as a kid, I didn't like it, so I watched the Lyons and Lyric more often. Bob should come back or find a voice actor who can come up with a decently good voice for Barney. And no hate to Korey as well

I will respect your opinion on the Barney Love Day message video that was dropped in February, but as for me, I really enjoy this, and I think Korey Durham did a wonderful job with Barney's voice being similar to Bob West and a little bit of Tim Dever.

I honestly grew up hearing Bob West Duncan Brannon, and Dean went although I heard Bob West and Duncan Brandon on the vhs tapes but yeah deans voice early on was weird I liked he’s voice in season 9 the later verison of he’s voice was weird too

I still love blue's clues to this day, it's my number 1 favorite show, right next to Barney being my second favorite show.
