The Power of Human Energy: Angela Ahrendts at TEDxHollywood

Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts talks about the positive and transformative power of human energy.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I believe her voice is "cracking" due to the passion she feels about the subject. As a speaker, when I deeply care about a subject and am working to get my point across to an audience, but am unsure how it will be received, the caring I feel for the subject and the audience makes my voice crack (at times) as well. Appreciate the topic she has presented and the passion.

Most people focus on the limitations of time and money; whereas, our energy is truly the most limited resource. Where are you allocating your energy? The grass is always greener where it is watered. Know your priorities and values in life and be sure to contribute adequate energy into these areas. Draining your energy into those areas that aren't core values will result in frustration and unhappiness. TCOY = Take Care of You

I worked at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. After a major event, people assess the legacies. The most obvious one is the brick and mortar, the stadium, the pool, the sport centres, but at the time, no-one considered the human legacy. Most of the people who worked in the sport division for each sport went on to build the Quebec and Canadian sport systems. All Olympic Games rely on human energy either as staff or volunteers. Those who have experienced an Olympic Games are forever changed. The Olympic Games are truly transformational. The human energy is electrical and magical. It is nice to hear all these laters a presentation speaking to human energy.

Great words Angela! I have been working this ideal for the better part of my professional career. My company, "The Influence Company" has been dedicated to teaching the Positive Power and Influence Program to teams of formal and informal business leaders in South Africa for more than 20 years. The vast majority of learners, even the biggest skeptics, report their lives to have changed for the better and those leaders who apply positive human energy have high performing, happy teams. Period.

Brilliantly said! Emotion and Human Energy- lost for few decades in the Industrial and capitalistic revolution. Good to know it gets mentioned in Corporate circles! I believe that the missing link in most Vision, Mission or Motto has been this element. In a race to be no 1, org forget that they need to appeal to their consumers emotionally. Building a strong brand means emotional attachment of end consumer to your product or service. Contrary to what most think, Emotions do not make you weak!

Bunch of fearful cowards in the comments. Imagine tapping into your feelings makes things possible. Who would have thought. I guess it's easier to mash your palm against a keyboard than to lead a company to success. She's talking about energy and is getting accused in the comments by pseudo-intellectuals of spouting "woo woo". We may not understand it fully, we may not even know what energy is (we don't) but it is physics. Go on, crawl back into your cave of knowing everything. It's where you belong: inside your own head of delusion. The truth is us humans probably know almost nothing about reality, what it is or how it works. I found her talk refreshing, interesting and inspiring. Take it in, you might learn something.

The year 2000 i had a heavenly experience. I was 33 yrs old and unemployed. I found myself homeless and on the street. One day as i was sitting there was this huge shadow dropping down on me. When i looked up i found myself looking into this huge light. I found myself lying on the ground and running through my body. After a while it released me and my life was never the same anymore. My mind was super sharp. I experienced syncronocities that was unreal. When i walked down the street people were running and other were dropping to the ground. For the next few months i experienced electricity that was out of this world.

Such a passionate person talking not about her bags or brand but human energy. It's so beautiful to see it being accepted. All points she touched upon, belief, hope, emotional electricity, intuition are powerful and to feel these things means we are allowing ourselves to be the best of who we are meant to be. Human energy is after all the power of love branching out in people if you may, and we are all connected. :) Peace and love to you all who resonated with this, and who are trying to connect!

I find this very fascinating. As I understand it, everything around us is vibrations that our brain interprets as things such as sound and images. Energy at the core of things, is in fact, the core of things. Energy cannot be destroyed nor created and scientifically speaking it seems rational to me at least that when there is a lack of a "positive energy" within someone there would be a darkness in them. The only remedy for a dark heart that I can imagine working is light. That light being love and tolerance. Of course this could transform someone, from there a community, from there the world. One candle can light another without shortening its own life.

Lead life with your heart first... I know love is the key to our inner light being free to express our individual energy... To lead life filtering with the heart not the mind opens our energetic essence to the infinite possibilities to what we can create be most importantly what love does to our energy is clarify our existence is only limited by our energy, in every sense of that meaning. I know my life's energy belongs with a unique pack of energies and through leading my energy through the knowing loving sight my heart allows me to see with my pack energyS have came- left and magically returned home to me literally as fast as life can bring a baby to earth... I know my packs energy is bound eternally, it grows every second in pack size and My the essence of me will always be as will the existence of my pack- I know this as my truth from my great full heart/ my great full spirit- all that is me is only a possibility because We are in love, we are love, existing in hearts not brains.

human power of influence very true.. i worked at a call centre and was called on to give "vision" to people that didn't do well in sales. I was the top global sales woman in all countries four years in a row. My advice, give them a prize each time they reach a set number of sales, make it three in a week, than five, than ten, each prize is bigger and it worked.. i developed the top sales team - years ago...
