Juan, I feel your pain man. I lost my wife of 47 years about 3 years ago. I go through a lot of Kleenex. I did not realize how much I loved her. I still miss her every day. All I can offer is to look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Remember the good times.

Yea, because the vocals are also on a recorded backing track. As you can see they start before he even begins to sing into the mic.

I'm a huge fan of The Police and Sting. This song has an emotional impact on me, especially after my grandmother passed away two years ago, I became severely depressed and I remember creating a playlist of sad songs, especially with or without you by U2. I could easily relate to this song's lyrics, as there were some mornings when I felt there was that little black spot on the sun. It also reflects on my strained relationship with my parents. So sometimes, when I listen I feel like sometimes I am the King of Pain. But after the song and no matter what my day is like, I feel weird then I feel happy knowing my parents and my friends love me, and I'll always remember my granny

This song was an important piece of my ecological conscious when I was an adolescent. I never watched this video before. Thank you The Police for all that you gave me. 😍😍😍😎😎

Lyrically their best song, or maybe Wrapped Around Your Finger. And that’s saying something because they have so many well written songs. Sting is one of best songwriters ever, for my money actually the best.

The SIDE B of Synchronicity is still, in my opinion, the best run of songs musically and lyrically on any album.

Their last album "SYNCHRONICITY " is my favorite one of the Police

this is probably my favourite police song, maybe their best, they were really good, 30 years later still as good as you can get

I watched the Police perform this song at the US Festival in San Bernardino in September 1982. We nicknamed it the "Dust Festival" because it so dry and hot and dusty. They performed this at night. Sting was wearing a yellow jacket and loose white pants. As he moved around the stage in the spotlight, he kicked up a cloud dust. I thought, "My God, this guy is one magnificent bastard."

Nobody like Sting is becoming a legend…

Thanks for posting this timeless classic that's light years better than most stuff today. Pretty cool too that the boys from over the pond paid homage to the USA. Class Act!

I remember hearing this song on my father’s AM radio in his 1980 ford fairmont sometime after it was released. I was 13 or 14. I had no idea who sang it but I knew I loved it. I didn’t get Synchronicity until a year or two later and when I heard it ai about fell over. I was a Police fan before I knew who they were.

Wow. The singing started before he even opened his mouth. I love the police, but damn.

I love this song. Such an unusual song. So memorable and poetic. I've had times when I am a little depressed and this song oddly cheers me up. I've not heard this performance of it before. It's different in a good way.

Oh I grew up with these songs. What a wonderful time it was. Great times.

Local radio station played this right before the April 8 eclipse 😅

Update: I am now 28 and recently started facing certain challenges and fears throughout my life. My social skills have gotten better, made a network of friends and now officially moving out!

I love Andy's dancing while playing. It adds energy to the song.

As critically acclaimed as the Police are, they still seem underrated.

One of the best rock n roll tunes of all time. One of the reasons being is there's just nothing even like it.

This version is better than the original. The modification of the riff cadence is beautiful, and the voicing of the synth is perfect.

I saw the POLICE when they were not very well known. They played at a bar in Hollywood Florida. I said to my friend that these guys were Awesome. Maybe in the 1980's. AWESOME....

Lazy days by the pool, Bain de Soleil suntan lotion filled the air as the mixture of sun and chlorine soaked our skin. A bottle of Sun-In for those unmistakable orange highlights (haha), all to prep for our Saturday night party rounds and an appointment with Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill and Budweisers and maybe a little smoke. Growin' up in small town America in the 80s....#thebest

ignore any rubbish replies here JuanBluesMan.. me and you know the truth: i was SOOOO disappointed when i first saw it then thought ok, it must be the double-track voice. i think later on in the tour they stopped the double track which i think was the right decision. This still sounds great for me though..

Solvalou Backup singers don’t sing on Sting’s verses. It’s a post-production overdub by Sting kiddo. That’s Sting overdubbed at 0:15. ;)
