Lyrics:
Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don't break
Walking on the moon
We could walk forever
Walking on the moon
We could live together
Walking on, walking on the moon
Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Feet they hardly touch the ground
Walking on the moon
My feet don't hardly make no sound
Walking on, walking on the moon
Some may say
I'm wishing my days away
No way
And if it's the price I pay
Some say
Tomorrow's another day
You stay
I may as well play
Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don't break
Walking on the moon
We could walk forever
Walking on the moon
We could be together
Walking on, walking on the moon
Some may say
I'm wishing my days away
No way
And if it's the price I pay
Some say
Tomorrow's another day
You stay
I may as well play
Keep it up, keep it up
Yo yo yo yo

In most interviews, Stewart humbly claims that he's just a guy "who bangs on shit". He says he's random, and maybe that's true, but we all know that he always found beats that nobody knew even existed in time, which makes his drumming...well, timeless.

Great ! I just LOVE Stewart Copeland !!!
My favorite Police song. Just had to turn up the volume and it sent a chill down my spine. Legends.
I have had this song in my head for days! The Police were so great!
I absolutely love this song. I mean that splendid bass line, those drums, and Sting’s stellar voice… simply amazing 😍
I listen to this song almost every morning before I get my day started, and it never fails to get me all jazzed up to conquer whatever I have planned. I wish there were more up and coming artists trying to push out music like The Police, Depeche Mode, ect... To those of you that had the chance to live consciously through the 80s and hear all these incredible artists in their prime, I'm jealous in the best way. I'm just so thankful I can still listen to it and pretend I'm in a different time Era 💕

I was born in 69. MTV started when I was junior high. I remember watching these videos before and after school. I used to listen to the Police, Rush, Pink Floyd, AC DC, Metallica, Guns n Roses, The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Madonna, etc etc etc. I could go on and on. Plus that was when Walkman's were invented... the pre-IPod era. Music today does not even compare. Also, we used to go to the arcade to play video games. We'd all get together and have tournaments away from our parents. Then, we used to play football, baseball, basketball, frisbee, hacky sack, bikes, skateboards, etc outside with all the kids in the neighborhoods. It was truly the best time to have grown up as a child. I feel sorry for these young kids... they are so deprived... they have no idea!

@@tommyzeus2802 Yeah. We thought nothing was going to be the same again. We thought we were the Bomb then. It felt so good. The Police didn't take themselves too seriously, at first. Their videos were said to have a bit of Marx Brothers energy to them. High praise back then...

Only a talent like Stewart Copeland can make a Space Shuttle sound Percussive. Wow
I'm in Alabama. Our local vet hospital is called "Walking on the moon animal hospital" I asked them how they came up with that. They say it was after this song because Dr. Moore felt it reflected his feelings at the time. Lol
Pure chords played with deep reverb and nice effects, unique voice of Sting, tight bass, and sleek drumming give this song its great personality and make it a cornerstone of modern popular music.
