You know a guy is on when his machine-gun-like octoban fills have flawless crescendos. Good grief. Copeland is unparalleled.

I went to this concert and will never forget the vibration of stings bass going through the place from top to bottom when they played Walking on the Moon.

@Doc Skate - Lucky you for being there in person! But I'm grateful for having been able to watch and listen via TV and radio back then, at only 10 years of age. 'Walking On The Moon' is one of my all-time favourite songs (from one of my all-time favourite bands), and I still put on this gig's version a lot these days, 40+ years later 🙂

They probably played live on their studio albums. They are in perfect lockstep live here. People forget how dominant they were in the early '80s. Radio was still great then. Summer and the Police went together like ice cream and a cone.

The last section to the end is unreal. The syncopation! the space! Stew's drums bouncing all over the place in time using his Echoplex. Andy's incredibly unique guitar sound.. all analog effects I might add. The older technology sounds so much better compared to all the digital devices used today. Great Police performance..

Stewart Copeland is one of the greatest drummers to ever sit down behind a kit. Amazing interplay between the three if them on this!

Awesome. So young and raw, but what a sound. Sting is a great Bass player and Copeland is an awesome drummer. Andy's Jazzy style guitar fits their sound to a T. My 5th favorite group all time.

Stewart is just a ridiculously unique and talented drummer that can carry most any band i can think of...all that world travel they did learning and studying music and absorbing the influences then putting it back out with their distinct sound and vibe is amazing for me...I grew up late 70's and graduated HS in 85...i heard it all and while the greatest drummers we ofter hear about are often discussed...I HAVE to throw Stewart in that conversation if not talent alone, uniqueness and style....add those 3 together and you have one of the greatest drummers of our time...Thank you for posting Eidy Lukosius...I was on a Police binge last night and this one stood out. Peace my music friends! Johnny

These are three very different musicians have such diverse styles and influences who, in most universes, would have no business coming together. I'm so glad in this one they did.

You know the singer songwriter folky stars loved Sting because despite all the amazing flourishes to the music A and S gave the music its essentially a direct folky song. The key to the Police is that they wrote great songs with great playing...3 guys...Cream Jimi Exp Rush and this lot are all u need

For Rock, he definitely wrestles with Neil Peart for my #1 spot of my top 5 drummers. He's unique. Original. Works his ass off. Has the best pocket. Super tight and precise. Concise. Uses the space he's given. Restricts himself when there is no space. There is something about this guy. Even though he's super technical, he can still send chills down your spine. As seen here at the end of this performance. That's soul.

John Moore ....When you're on the road......clean laundry doesn't happen very often. And after a few weeks, you also start forgetting and leaving your clothes in hotels and venues. Lost forever............and so you raid the merch and you always have fresh clean shirts. And on the backstage tour rider you request clean towels, socks and underwear. So now all you have to worry about is pants. Every road dog knows this. Peace.
