I’m glad I stumbled onto this particular performance. It was outstanding watching the footage of the Police in action during that appearance. I tried paying attention to every beat that Stewart played, the exact sound coming out of Andy’s amplifiers and observing Sting playing that fretless bass of his while he sang the vocal and playing the Taurus pedals.

My favourite live Police video. Copeland is absolutely astonishing in this performance. The band is tight as a tick. Words that ring true more than ever, “protest is futile, nothing seems to get through, what’s to become of our world, who knows what to do”

I think that lead singers playing bass enables more depth as their attention is not split between vocals and lead guitar. Random thought...

1:09: Look at Stewart’s complete joy after Sting goes up an octave and crushes that verse. They never played their songs the same way twice and always kept it fresh.
