Best Police song ever... I just read that it wasn't performed live because Sting refused to do so... What a crying shame...

No Stewart Copeland songs were added to the Police setlist after 1978 and anything that still survived (like "Fallout") was phased out by 1981. So the only outlet for both Andy and Stewart to play their Police songs live were the post-Police projects: Andy played his "Omegaman" song live in 1987 and Stewart did versions of songs he recorded with the Police with several subsequent bands or projects, like the Gizmodrome thing most recently.

I can dream up schemes when I’m sitting in my seat; I don’t see any flaws ‘til I get to my feet. I wish I never, woke up this morning; Life was easy, when it was boring! I could make a mark, if it weren’t so dark; I could be replaced by any bright spark. But, darkness makes me fumble, for a key, to a door, that’s wide open! My best Police lyric of them all and there are a many. Ironically written by Copeland and not Sting, one of the great 20thC song writers.

@@Tom-hk6ub I love that one too, there are so many, both the Police and Stings lyrics are littered with amazing lines and themes. It's hard to choose one but that line from Darkness always stood out for me. Everyone can find something that connects.

Then why exactly were you here listening to it then? I will never understand people who complain about indulging in things that they do not have to engage with involuntarily……..literally NO ONE is making you listen to it BUT YOU……..
