@@thomastrall5389 wow, i couldn't describe it better than you. what a beautiful description. i think its what you said plus my romantic view at the late 70ties and the 80ties. Im a child of the 80ties but i was too young to take part in the 80ties. So i missed the 80ties. Alltough i connect the song with the 80ties i think its a timeless piece of music. I still struggle to come to terms with their passing. I mean it when I say they were the most original bedroom pop duo to appear in the latter half of the 2010s. Their music was my soundtrack during said period, and they will always have a special place in my life. I hope their souls are resting peacefully, wherever they may be. All my love to both the lads, their tour manager and all those who are missing them.
@allyjoanna2 жыл бұрын
This song has so many memories behind it. The good, bad, and ugly. The first boy I ever fell in love with I played this song, in so many ways to think and remind myself of him. I would play this song to romanticize what it would be like to kiss him. Then I played this song to drown in my tears, knowing that I would never be with him. Then I played this song with him in the car making out. I thought it would never happen but it did. I played this song being on Cloud 9, loving him and having him in my arms. I played this song when I had to say bye when he went to college. This song reminds me of him. The electric guitar beginning, the bridge that reminds me of running in his arms, the chord at the end that feels like acceptance. This song will forever be my favorite but it will also be apart of me and my high school life. The title “what once was” is so beautiful in the sense of having a relationship and knowing it was something but now it is a memory that we have to cherish and hope that we will meet again.

@@bumpybumpy5911 I wish I had perfect pitch. The original song's BPM is about 100. Heard Stephen mentioning it in some video. 97bpm feels closer when you play the original though. Please don't let go when you've had enough I'm on my knees Baby, I've been there before I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone And now I'm still hanging on I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was Baby, I've been there before I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone And now I'm still hanging on I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was Waiting for my love Waiting for

this song reminds me of him and how blind I was and happy to be with him. Not knowing the truth until I found out he cheated on me 3x . I wanted to refuse to believe it was true . How could someone who I loved so much, and I thought felt the same , betray me like that . Some days I prayed that I could just slip into a coma and see him and I again happy together , listening to those songs on repeat . Being stuck in that era of my life forever where the less I knew, the better . But the truth is beautiful and powerful , and I wouldn't be the person I was today if he hadn't hurt me so much . So I thank him .

I listen to it when i walk through my city in the evening hours and i love when its raining when walking and listening to the song. The mirrored lights in the puddles on the street, the fresh air and somewhat empty streets + this song is utter bliss for me.

3:16 my favorite part✨
Its horrible that they are gone, but atleast they were able to leave a little part of themselves behind for the world to enjoy, I know in 20 years I’ll be showing my children their music. You only really die when the last person stops remembering you ❤
3:18 brings tears to my eyes every time
3:19 really does something to your soul 😍

thank you! Do u have perfect pitch or did ya just figure it out?
@highlandergypsy
3 жыл бұрын
@@bumpybumpy5911 I wish I had perfect pitch. The original song's BPM is about 100. Heard Stephen mentioning it in some video. 97bpm feels closer when you play the original though. I am sure about the 85BPM though. Just count or use a metronome. The figuring of scale is easy though. Use any melody instrument you play and shift scales to come down from the original scale.
godddd i love this song
Dear lord, I hope these guys are playing some shows up in the big house. Her’s, thank you so much for your music. I listen every single day.
3:15 absolutely beautiful
It’s been like a month since I found them and I instantly fell in love with them. I was looking forward to hearing more music from them, till yesterday that I learned what happened to them. 😞 It made me very sad. They totally stole my heart and now they are not here anymore. All because of some idiot that was driving in the wrong way. So much talent, they that were starting to make a name for them selves. It shatters my heart. 😭 May they be in heaven. ❤️🕊
“ please don’t let go when you’ve had enough …. I’m on my knees…” these lyrics are just soo ..they are just personal 🥲
Listening to this feels like a soft kiss on the cheek
rest in peace stephan and audun. you created beautiful music, and people love it.
I just find out both band members died in a car crash from this video ;-; Rest In Peace, their music is amazing and will live on
rip to these amazing, caring and talented young men who deserved every single piece of happiness hidden in this world. her's, we miss you everyday.
I guess I knew this would happen to you Inside I did what I refused to know the truth I'm headin' back inside to sit at home with you I think I know what's wrong My friends put on their bravest face Their tails between their legs, something's out of place I bet their mothers let them know what I'm about to face Keep your mouth zipped, son Baby, I've been there before I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone And now I'm still hangin' on I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was Tell me all important stuff What's your favorite color, what makes you so tough?
