Stewart Copeland and Sting: “we’re born in the 50’s…” Andy Summers: *Cries in 1940’s*
I'm proud to say that the main reason I started playing drums was because I watched Stewart Copeland play.

That crowd must be in Scandinavia, Germany, etc ..DEAD...
Those 80s striped tube socks (OK, late 70s here)! But serrious.... this is just pumping. Stewart just throws the beat forward, Sting is on pointl, plays a great bass line that plays great with Stewart, and Andy with his colorful guitar parts, playing off the reggae rhythms in the verses. It's just lit. Everything about this performance is fire. I mean, look at Stewart having fun back there!!
My favorite Police sound. It allows them to just bang away at their instruments.
I was born , born in the fifties ....Good Friday 27/03/1959 ........blessed with the love of music !
Love this band, this song, this performance

Saw Copeland playing in his Mrs' band, Curved Air. I was 14 and I believe he was 17.
I love The Police!
Andy and Stewart waiting for the "here we go" from Sting to finish the song...classic!!!
I was born sixty five.. They screamed when the beatles sang
Stuarts concentration n commitment is fantastic here as always !

Everyone looked so pleased. lol!
andy was born in the 40s haha
Paaan, pan en la frente! 🎶🎵🎶
So a new wave/punk band comprised of an an ex-teacher/trad jazz bass player with a guitarist so old that he began his career in skiffle with an American 70's Prog Rock drummer. That can't work, can it?
Great!!!!
Stewart looks like he's 15, lol.

It's a shame this video has only 334 views.. EiDy Lukošius, thanks for the superb uploads and keep up the good work, even though it is (regrettably) viewed by so little. Greetings from holland!
Such amazing energy Copeland is the best xx why the fuck are the crowd so dead???
Sting missed his cue at the beginning lol
와우...지금들어도 깔끔한 사운드....50년이 지난 지금도, 원맴버그대로 공연을 하고있으니 의리도 최고 !!
Born in 1959, ok for this from the beginning, youngers does'nt exist :)
seen in the 80s - one of the best shows I ever attended live. only U2 (War tour) was better...
Copland is definitely a big chip off of Charlie . Definitely one of the best . 😎
Cool
Born in the 60’s!!! Great tune
BWON!!!
The crowds just sat there??
The police rule.

Probably my favorite tune off of Outlandos. Yeah the sound of the Police without backing I always thoughts was lacking as did he. Which explains why he brought in horns in 82, and the ladies in 83. It's a shame Andy and Stewart sucked at singing. I love this tune in Police around the world In Hong Kong. Police in 2007/8 he had backing vocals piped in. And personally it doesn't bother me. Makes it sound better.

Is the audience dead??
Is that Sting playing a fretless bass?
@renderizer01

With The Police Sting was known to play almost exclusively fretless basses. That only started to change around the time of Ghost.
Born in 1998
Stew is rushing a bit (he looks coked/speeded up) but this still kicks complete and total ass !!!
Were the crowd all deaf? Fools! Although I bet the Beatles would have loved a crowd like this in 1965!!!

I'm not surprised this has few views. I listened to it. The problem with The Police is that they relied heavily on harmonies on their recordings, but all the voices were Sting's overdubbed. So none of their songs sound quite right when they play live. And without his vocal multitracking, Sting doesn't really have much of a voice. Loved their early albums, but never enjoyed hearing their live takes.

+Dave Spagnol This has always been my favorite Police song, but this live version just isn't doing it - for exactly the reasons you give. Sting's bass lines are also way better on the original.

yeah, man, it's not idiotic pop so it's not popular. this is an early live version when they were still working it out. it's a different time signature, different drum beat.
