Thanks for making me laugh. Watching people that barely passed a community college philosophy class thinking they're extracting greater meaning from something is just so hilarious. For those of you not familiar, something like 90-95% of people around the world say they don't remember their dreams, making this line pointless because the teacher's response is actually reasonable. Those of us who remember our dreams, especially nightly, *we're* the freaks. I genuinely feel bad for the people who are going to give money to watch this in theatre, and think this is as deep as something as shallow like the Matrix.

well, nothing new about that, at least in this futuristic scenario will have less and less unwanted babies. if making a baby is such a hassle and contraceptive seem so easy to get. where I lived there were many subway vents so orphan kids who ran away from the orphanage would sleep around those vents at night. I used to feed some of them every now and then ask them what's up. they had like patrons but they were beaten at the orphanage by other kids so that's why they ran away. also in middle school I had like one orphan kid from a foreigner church/catholic, country is orthodox, and he was a total phycho, tried to kill one of the failure/year repeating kids, picked fights with other boys, allegedly tried to rape a girl.

The scary part is that a while back I saw a video where the idea is actually being worked on. Not a take-with-you egg but where the conception and development of the child will be in artificial wombs. During that time the idea is to be able to genetically tweak the child to your preferences. Birthing was shown as the parents are there when the amniotic fluid is drained and the baby is "birthed" from the "womb." That's the concept that some are serious about creating. I wish I had saved the video but I didn't. If you can think of it, someone in science is already working on doing it. For good, of course.

I am horrified that this could be our "human race" future, Scientists have theorized on average we consume around 5mg of plastics per week (that is around a credit card size amount) As for the fighting nature part, check out 'EctoLife' based in Berlin ,the article I read in December 2022 states a single building is able to grow 30,000 babies per year (a terrifying and obscene thought imho)

The User Experience of having a baby in a Pod is on-point...
In the not-so-distant future, amid a society madly in love with technology, tech giant Pegazus offers couples the opportunity to share their pregnancies via detachable artificial wombs or pods. So begins Rachel and Alvy's wild ride to parenthood in this brave new world.

From the looks of things all the problems stem from emotional deficiencies that were there long before "the pod" arrived and will still be there regardless if the pod is there or not.

well, nothing new about that, at least in this futuristic scenario will have less and less unwanted babies. if making a baby is such a hassle and contraceptive seem so easy to get. where I lived there were many subway vents so orphan kids who ran away from the orphanage would sleep around those vents at night.

Emilia Clarke is just so amazing!
The cooing sound from the egg is the exact sound effect of the Grogu talking doll from the Mandalorian. Nice touch.
I was born in a microwave oven. Apart from my eyelids blinking sideways and my toes are on the back of my feet I'm okay. I can tell buy the way my mum laughs and bursts into tears when I wobble into the room that she's very proud and wouldn't change me for the world. Love you mum.
The thing I wonder about this concept is whether the parents would be required to have hormone therapy to replicate pregnancy changes to go along with the incubator. And if the mother would have to wear a mic & sensor 24/7 that's relayed to the incubator so the fetus has constant stimulus.

Or that V lizard baby crawls out and snarls at everyone. End credits, cue Dennis McCarthy.

I've seen it, and yes it's still being worked on. They were successful with a lamb fetus. This raises a whole host of ethical questions, especially with tinkering with genetic code. My fear is that they will do irreparable damage to the human genome.
