Very entertaining and interesting 🙂
Balck was never a Field Marshal, he was General der Panzertruppen, but otherwise you are right. He is such an interesting man to study; incredibly intelligent, brave, sophisticated, educated- he was what Rommel wished Rommel was. But he was also either naive or very honest about some things and lying about others. I would love to find his letters, to delve into more of this greatest operational mind of the 20th century.
Plus attacking 6 weeks earlier would have been in the spring muddy season 😁
Having the will is only part of it
Just started listening to this podcast. I enjoy it very much. I have purchased many of Mr. Hollands books. You’re welcome. However, two quick points. General Patton had ivory pistol grips, not Pearl. As he said, “only a pimp has Pearl grips.” Second. The USS Augusta was a heavy cruiser I believe and not a battleship. Thank you for your knowledge, hard work and entertainment.
