I went from the S10+ to the P6P, and I am absolutely loving the experience! If anyone is wondering, the camera utilisation in social media apps has improved vastly. Not quite iPhone level, but definitely a better standard to what we have had previously!

Hi marcus i have the s10 plus as well but social media posts where really bad from samsung like the stories (insta)where really compressed and low quality. Did you notice any such issue with pixel 6 pro

@@MLGSU5P3CT I can't really answer that question. I can only say that I personally like the size and weight. (It's heavy-ish for a phone I suppose, but it makes it feel premium IMO) 👍

Dude, this is the first review I've seen that mention so many software features, I never even heard of Extra Dim. That's awesome! GREATLY appreciate how you actually spend time talking about using the phone day to day instead of spending 3/4s of the video talking about nitty gritty camera details like everyone else. This is easily the most relevant, useful, realistic review of this phone I've ever seen

Your footage is right up there with the best of them, Sam. You'd easily mistake your B-roll for something from MKBHD and they've no doubt got a much higher budget, more resources and a bigger team. Very impressive. Great work!

Simple tips for portraits shot, always use 4x for more realistic effect. That is one of the reason to get 6 pro over 6. Try this and you'll love it. For me, portrait mode on pixel is kinda buggy or u can shoot on main camera and apply the bokeh effect later, so not a big deal👍🏾 cheers mate.

Regarding disappearing of fingerprint while tapping at the notification, please note you need to tap only once and it will take you to the fingerprint. If you tap twice it will take you to the pin or pattern. Not sure why it is like this but that's how it is.

IMO Material You is amazing. I love changing my wallpaper and tweaking the UI. As far as fingerprint reader I have encountered 0 issues and made many side by side comparisons with my S21 Ultra and there was either no difference or imperceptible. The haptics are amazing. Haptics are the first thing I turn off yet on the Pixel I love them. My biggest gripes are the At A Glance which is redundant and uses way to much space. I'm a minimalist and keep no app icons on my homescreen. Only the ones in the bar and a clock app so the At A Glance really bugs me

For the Notification thing hiding the fingerprint sign in, it's because you double tapped the notification. This is likely a muscle memory thing from previous devices. Simply tap the notification once and then use the fingerprint to open your phone and the app.

Sam, do you have any plans to do a customization of android tablets? I've been only able to find a few videos on youtube about it, but they are 2 to 3 yrs old.

Great review. The P6 Pro isn't perfect, but it's pretty great. I have a 'work phone' which is a 13 Pro Max. The battery in that device sets the standard, but apart from that, I would take my personal P6 Pro over the iPhone any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The OS is smooth, the cameras are pretty damn good.....and will likely improve over time with software updates. The Pixel is definitely worth picking up.

Both are great phones but Google software delivers. I love the voice assistant typing.

I know a lot of people have criticized the Pixel 6 series. Having had mine since 26th October, the pros outweigh the cons. However, I have discovered the cameras Achilles' heel - nightscape mode with flashing LED lights during a visit to a winter light trail event. What I can only describe are black bands that appeared during the live preview and actual images and videos. It reminded me of taking slow motion videos in poor light. My missus took pictures and videos on her Note 9 and had none of these problems. I had my GoPro 8 with me and that had no problems either.

Watching this 6 days after the video was posted, and 6 days after I bought my Pixel 6 lol I'm loving it so far. Upgrading from an LG G6, none of the Pro features are things I'm missing anyway. The phone is just so much snappier, better looking, more colorful, and the camera just takes gorgeous pictures I'm planning on slapping a case on it to get rid of the slipperiness, which is really my biggest complaint other than a few Android 12 quirks - Other than that, it's a joy to use 😁

Would love it if you could include a test on your android reviews of what the notification delays are like. Most android phones unfortunately suffer from it since Android 10, especially when on WiFi and the phone has entered deep sleep. Put the phone down for 10 minutes while on wifi and then send an email to yourself from another device and see how long it takes gmail to pop up a notification, for instance. Haven't found any reviewers doing this even though it's such an issue on so many phone models.

Finally some mentioned it! I had to switch to my spare iPhone just because of this. I cant afford to miss my emails due to my work. Google doesnt care enough to fix it. I am not sure how people are living with this?

Any thoughts on Themed Icons? The stock Google ones look amazing but the whole thing is let down by apps that don't have themed icons yet (looking at you WhatsApp and Spotify)

Also, your editing is amazing. One thing I noticed though is that now the aspect ratio you're using automatically zooms to fill (on Pixel 6 Pro) and I can't unzoom to use black bars on the side to hide the holepunch.

Great review! Really excited to hear your thoughts on the regular Pixel 6. I agree that google should really be releasing a smaller variant of their flagships. The Pixel 4a and 5 form factor but with full flagship specs would be ideal.

Wicked video and all around review. Your videography is always stellar. 👌 My biggest gripe about the Pixel Launcher is the immovable search bar as well as the insane footprint of the At a Glance bar at the top of your home screen. Such a beautifully large screen only to come up short with what feels like a giant chin and forehead. Honestly, after installing Nova Launcher, ditching the search bar, shrinking that At a Glance footprint, and mixing a couple of high-res icon packs together, my Pixel 6 Pro experience has vastly improved. My homescreen feels like I would have wanted the Android 12 experience to look and feel when I picked up this phone. I can honestly now say I love this phone. Streamlined Android 12. 😙👌🖐️

Root and flash a custom Rom. LineageOS 19 is an Android 12 custom ROM. For Android 11, crDroid 7.11 is well worth trying out

8:32 Flashing Pixel Experience Rom with Android 12 on my $130 phone brought me awesome results... And those differences from Android 11 to 12 are seriously big... Especially, app opening, installing and the massive upgrade, the boot time... Google has definately done a great job with Android 12 in terms of optimising their software further. It brought down system CPU and RAM usage too... So a big plus in terms of performance... 6:37 Agree with you on that... Some of the Android 12 features look a little bigger and as you said, "in your face"... Not a big fan... But Material You compensates for that, atleast for the most part... P.S. Your love for Google and Android as a whole(which I do too) is exactly what keeps me glued to this channel Sam.... Much appreciated...❣️❣️
