Every time Lyle makes his point about not wanting to live forever, I can never agree more. How tortuous would that be to sit there watching the life you once knew disappear every year, as well as the new ones you create after that.

It's not even that. It's the fact that you would have to live past the lifespan of the earth - past the lifespan of existence itself. As the earth dies you will be forced to live In a constant state of suffocation in the freezing vacuum of space. Regardless - you must go on. Through hot gamma rays of the sun when it finally goes supernova in millions/billions of years from now - you will somehow still survive, since you are invulnerable. And once all of existence itself has perished, you'll still be there. Just you. Forever.

I had a cyst removed for the second time in my life 2 days ago, and I would rather break my ankle then having to experience that hell again.

i had a pilonidal cyst, and the packing they put in they cyst is a thin cotton string, that when i pulled out (doc told me pull it out in the shower after 72 hours) it ended up being 1 1/2 feet long

Man the dude w the cyst I feel for. I had a staff infection on the side of my knee when I was like 5yo and when they cut it out I also had the gauze stuffed in it and the stuffing didn’t hurt but I screamed when my mom had to remove it 😓😰

Is anyone else weirdly attracted to the gecko?

I had an extreme case of pilonidal cyst when I was around 16. I woke up one day and could barely walk...like a couple inches each step. Had to have it surgically removed (under anesthesia), because it about the size of a tennis ball. My wound cavity was so deep that my tailbone was exposed, with all the nerve endings exposed. My dad had to dress the wound by packing it with gauze, twice a day; and the worst part was having the old gauze removed, because it would stick to my nerves and to be ripped off. Absolutely excruciating. I ended up having to have a second surgery a few months later because it grew back and had to use one of those hemorrhoid pillows for about 2 years and still deal with complications from that in my 30s.

I can relate man, it took 4 surgeries before it finally stayed gone. :( I spent over 2 1/2 years of my life laying on my stomach. 33 now and deal with scar tissue damage daily.

i think as ppl, we're meant to rely on others. the only way we've survived as a species is by corporating but by also procreating. existentially you can argue what the point of life is but on a biological level the point of life is to spread your genes. i know not everyone has a family that made them feel loved or safe, i know i didn't. but imo, i think there's no greater thing than to find someone you love & make a family to love & (try to) love the family you already have (as long as they're not toxic or harmful to you). there's literally no greater thing for me, atm, then the way i feel when i'm w/ my bf. neither of us have ever been more in love & attracted to a person before. he is by far the single greatest thing in my life & we both cannot wait to start a family (unfortunately we live in a fucking state that's been pricing our gen out for 15+ yrs & houses are $500-$550k on average).

Yo Lyle, just a heads up, I've got that same toe thing, and I've found a direct correlation with hydration. If I don't drink enough, my fuckin big toe (sometimes others) just decides to not work, and it feels kinda weird right!? Seriously try and keep that hydration up and see if you notice a difference.

I feel so bad for the pilonidal cyst guy. I had one back in high school that hurt up until I got it removed. I nervously mentioned to the doctor during a routine checkup because I wasn’t sure what it was and he casually said he could remove it right there. He jabbed me with the numbing needle, removed it, and I didn’t have to keep the bandage on it for that long. Didn’t hurt and I’m not even sure he charged me. Going off of other horror stories in the comments, I’m guessing mine was pretty small compared to normal and relatively close to the surface, hence how easy everything was. I feel lucky, godspeed anyone having to pay a small fortune or is experiencing other problems with theirs’ 🫡.
