My house was built before electricity, and while the wiring was updated, I have the same problem with single coils. Sounds like this is an upgrade I'll need to make. Also, that TONE. Thanks for the review, Bill!

Every place I've lived has caused noise problems on Single Coil Pickups. I've switched to Noiseless and Humbuckers. Loaded Pickguards for Strats are awesome. There is a short YT video called "Tutorial: Quick-Swap Pickguards for Strats" that makes it easy to change out Loaded Pickguards using a single "Quick Connector" at the Jack location. Well worth checking out, as it is a way to put old, unused Pickups back to work. 😉

Great sounds! I’m surprised you didn’t go for the squire baritone telecasters. I have one and it’s is pretty great for the money!

You should look at Morley's hum cancelling kit. One is a transformer that goes in between the power cable and the device. The other is some hum cancelling to XLR output for the audio side. Also look at the lighting in the studio side. Some LEDs, certainly many florescent lights, tend to cause issues. As can running microwaves, some washing machines nearby or on the same electric circuit..

Dude! I love upgrading Squires. I bought that exact guitar to upgrade and donate but traded it in when a Gretch I had been looking at. It worked out beautifully. Now that spring and summer are approaching, I will do the buy upgrade donate thing. Just moved to Utah and until I buy a house and build a studio/ workspace It seemed the best. I love the Gretch's. A deal is a deal but as it is all I have is the garage and it is quite cold being a Florida transplant. I do that to learn how to build. I have made a Tele that I gave to a best friend and a P-Bass that I gave to a church. Rave reviews all around. I have a Squire Jazz Bass that I will put up against the best Fender has to offer with just a Hip Shot Bad Ass Bridge (brass saddles) and a bone nut with my preferences regarding set up. Also a Squire Affinity Tele that I put brass saddles on and the same set up. They are great guitars. Will be exploring the P90 option for the neck on that one. Love the inbetween of the P90. Not a fan of Humbuckers sonically and not a fan of the 60-cycle hum either. The Filtertrons are the answer, but learning continues....

I've seen lots of demos of modern humbucker version of Fluence (which sounds good as well) but not much single coil....it sounds really nice and quiet, I might have to consider putting in my cheap Squier strat.

Hot Texas is kinda like the Hot Texas Sandwich from Houston's Hot Chicken. Meaty in the middle and spicy around the edges.

Last year I bought a Squire FSR Custom Classic Vibe Telecaster Baritone.... What I'm not a fan of re: Squire CV's are the 9.5" radius and glossy necks.

That ain't 60 cycle hum, that's 60 cycle scream.
