The American translation left out poema in the anthem. The Tagalog version put back tulâ or poem. For 333 years Spain had ruled over us. Their influence can never be erased. Las costumbres.

Love from Spain to our filipino brothers!! 🇪🇦🇵🇭. I honestly think we did good things during the spanish rule of The Philippines, such as unifying the archipielago, whose islands were not related between them before we arrived, but i also regret for the bad management of our Governments, especially during the 19th century. I feel bad for José Rizal, some people here consider him not only a filipino national heroe but also a spanish one, as he initially wanted to turn The Philippines into a spanish province with the same rights the spaniards had in Europe so it wouldn't be a colony anymore, but our government ended up killing him. It would have been beautiful if Rizal's wish had been fullfiled. But also, considering how things were at the end i believe we should have given you independence instead of selling you to the americans, who killed nearly 1,5 million filipinos, especially the ones who speaked spanish. Please forgive us for what we did wrong and appreciate, if it's not too much to ask, our legacy in your country. I think recovering spanish would be a great thing for The Philippines, in the end you are part of the great family of Spanishness (Hispanidad). Long live the independence of The Philippines!! 🇵🇭❤🇪🇦

This is taught in highschool. I studied in a public high school in metro manila. I graduated way back in 2007. One of our Araling Panlipunan teacher let us hear the national Anthem in English as part of our group dynamics. She even let us hear the spanish version.

I just want to learn it atleast as an optional class cos we can use it to our advantage especially with our history being a former spanish colony. Take Japan for example, right after the world war 2, they were the first to connect with the latin countries and traded with each other. i love being filipino but still its nice to have a wide reach of connection to the other countries.

in a shortened version of the history, Philippines found in 1521 Maggelan died, after a few years the Spanish came and said"BE CHRISTIAN OR DIE" "also we forgot to tell you this but you're a colony and your most of your people will be slaves BYEEEE" Britain came and said"mine FOR 4YEARS" Spain returned and sold the Philippines to US of A and got invaded by Japan but Japan was so weak they can't even control most of the islands, US and Britain and India came helping us fight the Japanese, and then, INDEPENDENCE

When I hear my country's national anthem I always feel that I might gonna cry, and I remember what my teachers told me , " when you're singing the national anthem you should sing it with all of your heart and be proud of it, remember the hero of Philippines did just to set us free, and remember when they compose this song there are so many filipino fighting for our freedom" that's what my teachers said to me, so when I'm singing it, even just hearing it I'm singing it and feelin' it with all of my heart. I'm from Philippines!
