I recognize Pete's Long Island roots in this cast. The pumpkin picking, his Mom picking his Dad up at the train station, then his parents talking in the car in the driveway while he and his brother anticipated their father disciplining them...very much the way a lot of us grew up living on Long Island.

my father's quote after my mother called him at work when my brothers were misbehaving. my Dad "I'm leaving work, you better start praying." Need more of that these days. My brothers shook in their shoes til he came home and they knew they had better get in line and shape up. Dad ruled the roost. He mostly yelled and we said would raise the roofbeams with his yelling and it stopped us from misbehaving.

Last year I was out at a business location and a lady was there with her son and he wanted a soda, but his mom said no. This kid threw a huge fit in front of everyone and when she was yelling at him and went to grab him , he started kicking and screaming even more. Everyone was shocked at his behavior. When the mom said, "I'm calling your dad, " the kids starts to yell " no don't call dad."

Friendly tip from one parent to another. Try removing all food coloring from your son's diet. Meaning anything with a color and a number like yellow number two red number 40 etc. If you're a son has ADD like mine does that made a world of difference! I mean a huge noticeable difference within one day. You just have to do it 100% no food coloring for at least one day and you will see a difference. Food coloring with the number behind it acts as a brain stimulant and is not helpful for children like your son. My son had the same issues you described. 🙏🙏🙏

My mom (never angry) held little kids upside down while she took them to a time out to be completely ignored. She said it “doesn’t hurt, but gives them a new perspective” Her theory is that kids just want more attention, good or bad attention doesn’t matter-if they get completely ignored for behavior you don’t want to continue, eventually they stop doing it.

All my Mom had to say to my sister and I growing up when we were misbehaving or fighting with each other was “just wait til your Dad gets home from work, your gonna get it then”. Exactly as Sebastian stated, that his Mom also would say to him. Immediately my sister and I changed our tune. Just the thought of imagining what Dad might do to us, was all we needed. Side Note: My mother never said nothing to my father, not even once. It was a great fear tactic that always worked 100% of the time.

“Fanny” doesn’t mean feminine 😂 It’s an old school word for butt. “Shake your fanny”…never heard that before? Best guess is because the pack sits on top of the butt when worn on the backside or sides. Though it’s more common to wear in the front. I think what you got there Pete, is a cross body bag like Sebastian said. 46:52

If you’re getting ready to leave for an event or school and he’s giving you grief, lay out two sets of clothes. If he doesn’t want either one, walk out, and tell him he’s not going ANYWHERE. No yelling….if he continues to cry, TO BAD. He stays home. Make sure the event is somewhere he really wants to go but it’s no big inconvenience for you when you have to stay home. Might work!? Luckily a large man driving a city bus knew the score, pulled over and stepped in to scare them off. But I'll never forget giving that perfect backhander, couldn't do it again if I tried.

I agree with Sabastian about the way fathers were. We feared our dad, and it was a healthy fear. It’s sad that we live in such a weak and faint of heart society, that these good old fashioned values are now frowned upon and looked at as "abuse". So now, we have to try and hide and sneak in the true discipline. Otherwise, your kids will be hitting you and cursing you out when they turn 15-16… It’s a mess out here now. No real structure anymore.

I love watching you 2 talk about parenting! The problem today is men are being emasculated ! WE NEED STRONG MEN AND DADS TO HELP THESE KIDS FROW UP! Our boys need men To raise them to have a little fear and respect! You both need to tap into how your dads were and how he was Being supportive and involved is good but quit being so afraid of your kids!! They run the show and it’s not good .. my boys are totally different dad than their dad.. it’s important for dad to raise our boys to be men ! And girls need to see real me. So they choose wisely …You guys have been brainwashed by society’s “new “ idea of raising kids. It’s Going to be Interesting to see the next generations 😅 yikes

My oldest, when he was a toddler got into screaming like Sebastian son, what I did was pulled his ear and told to be quiet or I would pull the other ear! My youngest child would hit his head when he got mad and bruised it to the point I thought people would think I hit him, so the last time he started hitting his head on the wall I scream at him and told to hit him to do it again and harder and kept screaming at him to keep doing it! He was in Shock and couldn’t believe it and stopped for ever! I guess the moral of the story is that you have to figure out what will work in stopping your child from misbehaving and make sure they know, “you are the boss, not them!”

Sebastian: I have a boy. It's so hard when they are throwing fits like that. He's trying to get a reaction from you. You don't need to hit him, or yell. You simply take out 2 outfit choices, and tell him he needs to choose one. If he starts throwing a fit, just walk out of the room, and close his door. You go and sit in another room. If he comes out of his room and tries to find you, still throwing a fit, you tell him this is unacceptable behavior, and you are not going to listen to it. If he wants to be upset, that is his choice, but he needs to do that in his room by himself. Tell him when he calms down and stops crying, and is ready to pick his outfit and get dressed, you will come back in his room and help him get dressed(if needed). The key is, he throws a fit, you don't say a word, and just keep leaving the room and ignoring it. Eventually he will know he can't get a reaction from you. He will stop or at least throw his fits in the privacy of his bedroom away from you.

I raised my 2 boys since they were 1 & 3yrs of age. They were pretty well behaved sons, I don't recall much defiance from them all throughout their childhood. I set rules for them & they knew what was allowed and not, I used to and still get compliments on how respectful my sons are. So when Pete mentioned little boys are basically a handful, I have a brother who had all girls & I sure was glad when I had boys, to me girls seemed to be more dramatic, demanding, etc. Also I feel when the man or woman is the bread winner, the other patent should step up to the plate a little more, unfortunately I had to do it all, but no regrets! That bag is suppose to go over your shoulder and under your arm. Just adjust it to be longer. You wear it in the front like you had it.
