Holler from Germany. I have an r53 JCW..with basic mods and mostly suspension upgrades. Nothing beats the whine of an open filtered supercharger. Although not something to brag home about on our autobahns...but on our silky smooth B roads...she’s probably no less fun then cars of much higher caliber. Really enjoy your channel. Keep’em rolling...peace👍

Hello Peter, Cracking vlog! I had an R53 Mini a few years ago - only a One D but I loved it - a hoot to drive. Still love the R53 and R56 Mins, but have no time or love for the bloated things they call Mini’s these days, even the Cooper S. So, I hope that these two drives have made you reconsider spending silly money on a new car? Get Ruby Roadster tuned and up-specced and keep it as a fast road car. The smile on your face says it all. Keep it Mini! Or swap her for a mint Cooper S Checkmate and do some subtle mods to that? Or find a GP1 or 2.... Food for some deep thought, Peter! Minis are more fun per mile than a lot of so called sports cars. And you could join the B Road Hunting Club as well..! I’m sure there will be a good few other Peddlers that think the same as I do. All the best, mate. I look forward to seeing where you go with this.

Damn right, this is in winter before my 250bhp+LSD build. At the time this was the longer ratio box and yet it was still pulling through the gears quicker than most face-lift do with the shorter box. They're good to go unless you slam them then you don't get enough compliance at high speeds on B roads kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZHqum7SKf5i2Y8o.html

GP will rev to 7180 by the way not 7000 and the charger doesn't spool quicker its fixed, a smaller pulley just increases the velocity of the rotors compared to engine rpm. Ideal B road setup on 16's (will need some special fitment to clear the brakes), leave the stock works springs on and chuck in some B6 shocks, assure you you'll be able to hit higher speeds without feeling like you're gonna bounce of the road 😍. Good video and chat though, nice one

Hello. Loooooooooooooooove that opener. Awesome whine! I’d love to have a day on track with those two. You are sooooo like me with ya thoughts and views. Baker, a good name ya see lol. Damn the first is a lush sound. Buy it, buy it, buy it. So much character. A pity our roads are so harsh, as you know, hats off to Florida for their road conditions. Mini defo has a knack of letting you feel integrated to the tarmac, even as standard, so after being ‘played’ with, astounding.

I called it a day with my r56 cooper SD 2 months ago was turning into an unreliable money pit ….so I’ve just bought a Cooper S R52 instead 🤣🤣🤣got to learn about the car all over again 🤦🏻‍♂️

Just found this video, really enjoyed it, great job...the R53 what a great car....had mine since 05 and has 181k and it's still great fun to drive..I love driving the B roads in the UK, not as many roads like that here in the states.

29th!! Looks like you had two great drives in those Mini's. Me thinks I'm gonna have to go for a blast in my Cooper S this weekend, weather dependant.

Have to say having owned eight MINIS since 2005 it’s been a blast and kudos to these guys for their love of these great cars. I’m missing my GP2 already after only three weeks since waving it goodbye, but that time in my life to move on has finally arrived. Good luck with your passion & thanks for sharing with us. Peter, Takes this old fart back too his youth and my first car and tinkering with my Cooper S, such fun but in those days not the most reliable of tuned cars. especially when you were on an apprentice budget and not using the bank of mum & dad when it went bang.

Love this one, worth the wait! A little track car to drive on the road. Liked everything about it, gearbox sounds nice and tight ,short shifts.I just don`t like pink, but could live with that I think as such an amazing drive. How about this for your new car ,Pete?

Another solid review Pete...i guess just what keep the vanity mirror in for the wife.. Seriously I wonder how his wife takes the hours away and quite a bit of money going into the car..need to be earning a comfortable wage persumably.

The GP sounds so good compared to the pre facelift S. Mostly the janspeed manifold I think right? Since they run the same non res JCW exhaust. (of course facelift/GP/JCW's pop more anyway)

Looks like a lot of fun on some of my favourite Goodwood roads. Perhaps you could do some mods on Ruby roadster ?.

Will you do anything to yours mate? I got a 1.9 z3 that I used only in the summer I have the same supercharger that the mini has ready to go on some time in the near future..

Gotta love a modified Mini. I've got a R56 and a Classic Mini and both are different but great fun to drive. Only problem is the condition of the roads which are abysmal and can destroy a car hitting one of these craters. Worst roads in Europe are in the UK

Difficult to answer as there were so many. I will be doing some mods on my Mini this year and will talk about the cost involved.

The GP1 came with 218bhp but this one has a little more than then. Ed talks about it in the film. The other car is a stock engine Cooper S which came with 163bhp 👍

No, it has ever soo slightly shorter and stiffer shocks. Springs sit roughly - 10mm lower and are slightly stiffer also

The holograms on that GP are horrific 🤢 People shouldn't machine polish cars of they can't do it. Hope they've since been polished out.
