He resolved alot of disputes among gangs in the area and was a mentor to the leader of a group called the #ATeam .
In 2014 a internal war began and the team splintered

    People love to believe that these guys have their community's "best interests" at heart. They said it about Al Capone, they said it about Pablo Escobar and some even tried to say it about the Krays, even though they were a pair of nonces. Here's a little story that will show you the kind of guy Massey was: A friend of mine from an estate in North Manchester - we'll call him C - went to Salford to pick up some bud, quite a large amount (probably moving it for someone). He knocked on the wrong door by mistake and was dragged into a house by someone he didn't know. In the room he was taken into, the walls and floors were lined with plastic and also in the room was Paul Massey, sitting in a chair. The man who dragged the kid in tied him up and started to torture him, by slashing him all over with a razor and pouring salt in the wounds. Massey sat there watching and laughing - this was just a bit of entertainment. He didn't tell me any more about it and I don't know what it was all about, but he obviously just knocked on the wrong door. If Massey was this guy with morals, who tried to avoid violence and keep the peace, wtf was he doing, sitting and watching some kid (a runner, probs 19 years old or so) get tortured and giggling throughout the process? The kid was still completely f*cked up over it when I spoke to him and he's from quite a big family that were into this and that. They will have been happy when Massey went. A lot of people will have. That's just one that I was told directly around the time he died. People were terrified of him. I remember people used to only say "him" or "he'" when referring to him, because they were too scared to actually say his name, I suppose in case anyone was listening. You don't get to be the big boss of a place like Salford without being nasty and capable of horrible violence. All this sh*t about "keeping the peace", that's just so that people don't lose money. I haven't been over there in a few years but I wonder what Salford is like now. Once you get past Media City, it is like the Wild West.

    @Gorgon Don, correct. It never ends well. For instance, you go away/prison. You get used to it, however its not until you mature, that you realise the misery you have caused your family. You never get that time back you see. The problem is, when your young, if you wanna work outside the law, you do. The better and More successful you become, you get comfortable, get married have kids. You are now in danger, because as a youngsters you aren't mature enough to care what could happen to you, as long as your getting dough. As you get older, that changes because you have to defend and fight for what's yours. Now you are vulnerable, because now you do care about what could happen. You now are fucked. ALLEGEDLY any way. Just best not get into it. But people especially young people want that dough now and quick. But what else have they got, most of the kids in today's Britain. Very little and the government love it, because now they're opening private prisons, that need filling. Because the government pay huge amounts to house prisoners, and the private prisons have share holders who could be MPS. CORRUPTION. BY THE REAL GANGSTERS. THE RICH SO CALLED ELITES.

  • @peterarmstrong6730

    @peterarmstrong6730

    Apparently. Paul was a decent lad. I didnt know him personally, it's just what I heard over the years. It's all about dough at the end of the day. You see you need money, of course you do. But greed is huge, as everyone knows. If someone is getting in the way of others making money, sadly the chances are, your going. Because no matter how decent you are, other's may not be. Especially in the drug business, but any kind of business really. Apparently he was loved and feared, I think and like I said I didn't know him, but I think he preferred being loved in the community,but hey I don't know. So please don't jump on me and say, he was a bad man. It's just what I've heard of the character of the man. It's shit because in the end most have family's, who have do deal with something like what happened to Paul. I think he might have been staunch old school. But sadly, there aren't many of that kind of villain left.

    Always seems to be two outcomes when you're a 'gangster' in (Greater) Manchester. You either end up in prison at some point, or dead. In my town there's some of the Ward family. They are either in prison, dead or when you see them, always looking over their shoulder for either the cops or someone wanting to do harm to them. What a life, eh? There are only a few real gangsters nowadays, the ones who do it properly. Don't attract attention, don't use violence against joe public, all of which then attracts the coppers and other gangsters. The courts in Manchester are full every week with clowns in their Sports Direct tracksuits and moonboot looking Nikes, getting community service for dealing crap cannabis which then gives then bragging rights with the rest of their 'gang' who use extreme violence to defend a postcode. WTF! They'd earn easy money getting a good qualification in IT and working a nine to five on a great hourly rate. Instead they wait for the inevitable smash down of the front door by the drugs squad or a petrol bomb through the front window or a violent beating by a rival. What a fucking carry on.

Nobody from mosside could ever do or say anything to the Salford guys not even in the 90's when mosside was at its worst. All I can say is that if you sell class A drugs to peoples children turning them into prostitution an junkeys, then believe me that GOD ALMIGHTY is swift in retribution an dishing out karma!! There is NO BIGGER SUFFERING than seeing your own children on class A drugs an on a path of self destruction, so STOP 🛑 this HEROIN & CRACK on our British land, ENGLAND is the best country on the planet 🌍, so let’s keep it that way so the younger generations can have a better brighter future!!!! 😎🦋🐝

    the street level crime that you never hear about or only rarely is to me the most interesting but i'm american and until youtube came along shit like this from other countries didn't exist at all in the american media now that i have access to it i really don't watch anything from the states cuz' fer years that was all i had access to and to me these 'scarcity' vids are just as cool as the old 'crimewatch' episodes.

    I was close friends to a few boys in the Cheetham Hill Crew and had great times in the 90,s and when i mention The Snooker Cub near strange ways, certain people will know i was a member there,. when things were good. There were so many characters with interesting stories to tell, there was like a comrade respect between guys and no one stepped out of line. They talked about Paul Massey many times, thats how i got to know who he was. There was a story that a guy was having a problem in his VIP bar in his nightclub, 3 guys were getting drunk and not paying their Bill. The owner rang Paul and advised his problem. Paul stated "give me 15 mins" Paul turned up and advised the 3 drunk fools that it would be good for them if they paid their Bill. They told Paul to do one. I think thats the last word they said before all 3 where unconscious . The owner mentioned to me that he had never seen anyone put 3 blokes down so fast, he reckon about 20 seconds all 3 were down and out. true story. My friends were top of the chain and knew all the top cops and judges very well. They were much more clever than anyone i knew. They knew the Law inside and out. What you call "Untouchable"
