You can't be legendary if you are a crim. If your a crim you can be 'notorious'. Legendary is reserved for people who earn it doing good things.

If an individual wants instant wealth, without having to work hard at school, apprenticeship etc.. and they turn to crime to achieve that, they can't excuse that criminality by blaming it on oppression. There is no doubt racism exists, but people like Stephen French would have probably been a criminal whatever background they came from. Many Irish suffered the same oppression in the 18th Century and went over to New York to become Cops and find other honest work. Many descendants from the African Slaves went on to achieve huge success in various fields. Many also blame criminality on poverty, but there are as many criminals in the world of finance as there are on the streets of Toxteth or Salford.

i think when people watch these things they do so ready to pick apart anything and everything, because they are on the side of good and these documentaries are on the side of bad. but in the case you are talking about i think there is a thin line between explaining why you do what you do, and blaming it on that. when you dislike someone you tend to say that the explanations they have are excuses, when in fact it was simply a story to explain who he is and where he came from. you cannot finish every sentence with 'not that it would justify it' becaue the whole video would be full of it. it is a given that having got this far and being this open about his life and all its contents.. you can assume he is way past the point of making excuses or trying to get you to like him or anything like that

The conservatives never said "if you want a n@gger for a neighbour, vote Labour" especially not in the 70's. And "no blacks, no Irish and no dogs" was a sign common in bed and breakfasts/lodging houses in London in the 50's, nothing to do with politics, it was about the landlords having to think of their other lodgers, who might not want to live in a house shared with Irish and blacks (who had a negative reputation) and the no dog part is obvious. So he's got a lot of his historical details totally wrong.

It’s funny how people are so negative on here by using the word legendary in your description but the word is absolutely appropriate here. It must be the younger generation not understanding all of the definitions. Yes the word is used for someone or something fabulous but it’s more common origin would be best described for something mythical, fake or an exaggeration of facts. When you go out fishing and the fish you actually caught weighed 10lbs but over the years with people exaggerating the facts then your fish turns out to be 100 pounds, thats legendary.

I don't agree with a myriad of what's happening today, doesn't mean it's right or wrong, what's acceptable to you or I doesn't mean it's acceptable to millions more. I think you have totally missed my point, I certainly don't condone criminal activity but it's a way of life for a portion of our community, and it's these that put upon a pedestal the "LEGENDS" that are in question, and it's their beliefs that they are entitled to as according to the Human Rights bill that is so readily being banded about these days. And that's another reason why terrorism is rife.

@@kevinhoughton9134 It's not in the eye of the beholder. You simply can't use words incorrectly you can not call a donkey a horse. Legend means outstanding, but not simply outstanding it means oitstanding in the sense that there is something worthy or to be proud of (it is inherent in the meaning). The proof of this is the fact that there is an alternative word to cover actions which are outstanding not in a good sense this word is 'infamous' or notorious. That is why we have 50,000 words in the english language in order to be precise. Words have specific meanings. The people you refer to can chose to wrongly use words if they like but they are wrong simple as that. I will call my cat a dog from now on, I am am free to do so, but it doesn't make it a dog.

I am simply stating the fact that legend/s are what these people see/ worship and follow. It's not a debate on the true meaning of the word! Well done Nikki 👍👍👍👍 Just need the countless others to stand up and be counted for the damage they have all done for decades in our City?

There was a lot of racism back in the day. The argument that slavery affected people in the last few decades though is not very persuasive, it makes a good excuse if you've been at it, nicking off of other villains. Did they just take the money ? or did the drugs get sold on, if so it kind of negates the argument that this was a public service.

I've never heard of him passing the money onto charity or into the communities. In fact, I'm sure I've seen interviews of his before where he says he must have taken millions (bluster or BS, who knows). And I'm under the impression that he was very financially comfortable. So I very much doubt he would be flushing class As down the toilet. Maybe he did, I don't know.

What he said in the beginning about Penny Lane is totally Wrong. The street sign was defaced when the BLM supporters first made themselves known as they assumed, along with other people that it was a tribute to the slave trader James Penny. This is completely untrue and just suits certain peoples agenda. The name actually derives from when The Road was a Toll Road, way back in the day and if you had a Horse and Cart, it would cost you One Penny to travel over it. This was I believe confirmed by the International Museum of Slavery in Liverpool and according to Wiki, the original assumption, was just that, an assumption.
